OUR 'ANTIQUE' 1990 FORETRAVEL GRAN VILLA
wayne77590 replied to BREDAN/WILLIAMS's topic in RV Photo Gallery
I know people who were teletype operators in the military and Morse code operators that do not know how to type in anything but all caps. Hard to ween then off the habit. Took me a long long time. -

...and it's toasty why? Hot air emitting from larynx most likely.

I don't worry much about chairs as we have the cheap kind. However, I do lock the Progressive PT-50C surge protector to the pedestal with a very heavy chain. However, that is just going to keep the honest people from stealing it. My reason for locking it is that most campgrounds are drive through...that is not control gate so anyone can come in the wee hours of the morning and "fetch" things. In the many years of camping we have never had a problem. There is a KOA in New Orleans that when you are driving through the neighborhood you can get an eerie feeling. When I asked the manger/owner he stated that they have never had a problem with things being stolen. Yet, there are stories of some of the up-scale RV Resorts having "minor" problems of items walking away. The lock on the 5th wheel pin should have never prevented him from connecting. I have busted common padlocks with a 50 cent piece and the heel of a shoe when in the military. A hammer, or any other tool would have made minced lock out of it. Just be cautious and check your surroundings periodically and your tow hook-ups. Just in case.

Carl, just talk to yourself a lot. The hot air should warm up DW.

I stand my ground. Doesn't matter if the vacuum is from an engine or a 12 volt pump. If there is a split in the line, crack where it attaches to the thing-a-ma-jig that controls the damper - no warm air. As Brett has posted in another thread, check the electrical wires going to the pump to make sure they are connected. Also check the fuse panel for that same pump.

Our Holiday Travel Misadventure-- So Far
wayne77590 replied to huffypuff's topic in General Discussion
Oops? What oops? -
Isn't there a vacuum hose that opens and closes the heater/AC vent? Mine is under the hood and there are reports of the vacuum line can split at the control. Easy fix if it is configured that way.

Thanks Carl.

Is your TV so old it does not have an HDMI input? -
A friend of ours from Little Rock, AR is in FL. Had a heart attack. FMCA Assist is flying him to LR, arranging for return of MH, and flying two puppies (Dogs) to LR. Thank you FMCA Assist for the excellent care you give to those in need.

The 2500 is capable of 6th gear or overdrive gear if you prefer. I have the 2500 in my Coach and the fly-by-wire shifter. I believe the 2500 can be programmed for 6 gears depending on the manufacturer of the vehicle.

Bleach In Water System For Sanitizing
wayne77590 replied to pcowen's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
I wonder how many sanitize their system using Clorox and leave the filter in. Specifically says on my filter package that it removes Chlorine. Is it Eat To Live, or Live To Eat. Unfortunately I'm the latter. See both topics covered in just two easy sentences. Keep it rolling. -
Flat Towing A 2017 Lincoln Continental

It is like the guy that sat on the cactus. When asked why he did it he replied, "Well, at the time I thought it was a good thing to do." -
Flat Towing A 2017 Lincoln Continental
wayne77590 replied to FMCANationalOffice's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
If REMCO doesn't make a pump or disconnect for a vehicle then it is not towable 4 down. DW's 2004 Lincoln sits in our garage with 106,000 miles on it. Still in excellent condition. Having two Lincoln's is the reason we have the pinto of the Winnebago line. -
I think you meant the Norcold 1200. Here is a procedure for the reset: Norcold Reset Procedure The Prevent Box (Black Box) could have tripped. Some have been know to be other that perfect and they will be replaced a no charge. One way to reset the black box is with a strong magnet. Place it on the box to make the magnetic reed switch inside reset. Only do this if you see no evidence of over heating of the stack. Typically there will be yellow residue somewhere up the stack. If you see that you need replacement. The other way is to unplug the wires going to the black box and from the black box to the control board. Just follow the wires and plug directly back into the control board. That will eliminate the black box and narrow the problem down to the black box. All this is performed at your own risk. I assume no responsibility.

Okay Carl, you are saying that towing my 2013 Lincoln MKX is a senseless mistake I made. Hmmm! I'm going to have to give that some thought. -

Bleach In Water System For Sanitizing

Had a neighbor that was pulling beets out of his garden. He would break the greens off and throw them in a pile. I asked what he was going to do with them and when he said throw them away I asked for a couple grocery sack fulls. Took them in the house, Earlene prepared them, brought a bowl with butter on to to the fence and said, "Try these." Never could get another bag of greens from him. -
