For a 2014 I think you will have problems reconnecting the fuse or cable with the on-board computer. It is going to reset everything. I have a 2013 Lincoln MKX and it is an Edge on aesthetic steroids is all. I have the same problem as you. Mine is key less start. Then manual for the Edge states the same thing my manual does. Start engine and run for 5 minutes and every 6 hours (to long), shift to D then R then N, Ignition in accessory mode, My battery will run down if I do not stop every two hours (2-1/2 max) and restart the engine and let run for 5 minutes. I typically have to take a necessities break every 2 to 2-1/2 hours anyway. Since I have been doing that I have not had a problem. The other solution would be to use a "charge line." I only have one, Progressive Industries PT-50C, and it has saved me several times. One time in a CG in Kansas (must have clicked my heels) we were all set up and the AC just stopped working. Checked the PT-50c and it showed on leg at 104v and that shut off the PT-50C. Several other occasions where it worked well. Funny thing about the AC shut off. Called the office, manager came out, said they were having some problems at the main box. I told them that I really needed AC as it was in the 90's. To make a long story short, they switched the wires to the legs in the pedestal. AC ran well and lights worked well. It was a one night stay for sure. PI Backs up their product.

I had a broken lock a couple weeks ago. Stuck the key in, turned it, pulled on the handle and no luck. Tried it several times, no luck. Turned the key and hear it click, turned it all the way the other way and heard it click. Turned it back to unlock it, heard it click, pulled on the handle - Gees, I could break the handle off if I'm not careful. Called GS and they were going to call me back after finding a locksmith. Meantime I called the local locksmith. This is a Sunday and we are supposed to be leaving like "NOW." Back out to the MH. Oh! Oh! darn! I was turning it to the left and that locks it - not unlocks it. Turned it the other way and handle finally moved. Ever see a monkey jump on a football. Here is the worst of it all. Had to go back in the house and tell DW that I fixed it. it wasn't until several days later that I fessed up. She had time to think about it and just smiled instead of calling me a DumbA again. Thought I'd share that while waiting for the OP to come back.

Try Adblock Plus and Ghostery. With Linux you can set parameters using etc/hosts file to keep known bad sites out, it's the unknown that can sneak up on you.

What route are you going to take? We have traveled to NE several times and always avoid the Right Coast I-95. The easily explained way is I-81 to I-84 and we get off at Sturbridge, MA. LL Bean in Maine is not that far As for reservations. Depending on when school starts you will find 99% of the campgrounds are booked for weekends. Once school starts that diminishes somewhat. If you have a route planned I would consider reservations for any weekends up in NE, and as stated the Holiday weekends are pretty well already booked. Call ahead to see what is available and then plan your route to go through that area. Also, costs for RV camping in NE are considerably higher than the South and mainly because they have to make their money 5-6 months of the year and are closed down the other months because of sn*w. I'm not trying to chill your travel plans but "it is what it is, and then it is what you make of it!"

X2 but I also have a back-flush inlet so when I'm dumping black the water is flushing the black tank. Oh, I have 2 tanks. Black, grey and galley. First dump is black with back flush, second is galley and third is grey. I also have an adapter (pick up at Wally-world) that when I disconnect the sewer line after flushing the adapter connects and I run clear water through the sewer line and flush it out well. I am not apathetic but I must say that I am neither for nor against towables belonging to FMCA. My MH has a motor whereas towables do not but they have a motor pulling them. Then we get into the MH accessories, lights, refrigerators, microwaves, ovens, jacks, slides, satellite systems, etc., and so, so many are common to all types of RV's. Yes there are subtle differences like Electrical Management Systems. All of these can be a topic of discussion, or, the discussion can revolve around the lifestyle of RV'ing. Like I said, I am neither for nor against towables in FMCA. I'll live by the decisions of the masses and I'll vote my conscience. Regarding FMCA Assist. From what happened to one of our friends a couple months ago, that benefit is well worth the yearly dues. If anyone wants information on that, just ask.

I'm a sucker for the scenic route so I'd take Hwy 146 out of Livingston and that would put you driving right past the Escapee Park and stay on 146 all the way to I-45 into Galveston. Turn right on to 61st street and at Seawall Blvd (3005) turn right and travel the Blue Water Hwy to Hwy 35S. There is a $2 toll or so at the toll booth at San Luis Pass. Traveler would stay on the Bule Water Hwy to Hwy 332 then over to 35s. A faster route would be to pick up 2004 in LaMarque (Exit 15 off I-45) to Hwy 36 to hwy 35H. Hwy 2004 is boring but faster. The journey is the destination so we enjoy the scenic routes.

MAX AC or Recirculate recombines the air inside the coach and when the house AC is on it will keep the coach cooler by running the dash in MAX or REC. Economically MAX AC and REC uses a tad more fuel but any dash AC will cause a .5 Mpg (give or take) difference. About the same as house AC using fuel tank. I also have about 50? air coming out of the dash on regular AC. We have been comfortable when driving even when the inside temp is 80? as we can direct the flow of air onto us and it keeps us comfortable. Regarding the curtains. I would like to know how you attached the curtain from one side to the other. I have not been able to find a curtain road to span the distance. Never mind - just saw some on Amazon.

I have been using the Winegard Carryout antenna since 2008 when I purchased a MH without a satellite antenna. I use it with DISH network and I use the VIP-722 Satellite receiver. It has worked flawlessly since purchase. It receives all three DISH satellites, 110, 119, and 129 but only one at a time. Switching channels between satellites does not produce any delay in signal. It sends both SD and HD transmissions to the satellite receiver.

I can't type that long, but if you have any questions, just ask. DW says I'm a know-it-all, but my oldest son contests that as he thinks he knows-it-all. Who am I to argue with that.

Definitely make sure the valves are closed. Ask my DW how she knows that and will never get near a grey tank (or any tanks) valve. For the Black, I dump while the back wash is activated watching the color of the water flow through a clear elbow. When it is almost clear I'll close the tank valve and set my watch timer for 2 or 3 minutes then open the valve. I may do this a couple times. Every other dump (or so) I'll ask DW to fill and flush. She will fill the bowl to the brim and flush, doing this two times. If I notice after the second time she does this that the water flowing is not to my liking she may do it a third time. When I'm satisfied I'll close the valve and let the back flush fill for 1 minute. For the grey I dump after the black to clean the line, plus, I have an adapter that I purchased at Wallyworld that attaches to the sewer line and I run water through it for a few minutes. After all that and stowing the gear I'll go in and put one smelly packet in the toilet along with two cap fulls of Calgon water softener. That has made a big difference when dumping. To each their own, but that's my stroke.

Just a passing thought: The mechanisms gears are wide open to road debris. If there are any debris between the ratchet plate and the step frame the current limiting switch will keep it from operating.

In the 8 years that I have had a PT-50C I have had problems twice, and both time they were there at the ready with a repair or replace. I hope the merger can keep up that type of service. Thanks for posting the link Jim.
