  1. Isn't the Internet wonderful...one can search and find the information that they want to find. Yes, many things can turn political, but then again there are media outlets that speak the facts, albeit not completely. According to "news sources," the Government is in conversation with CDC. Dept HS, and state governors to discuss mitigation. It was published by the Miami Herald which is a left centered bias media. I'm wondering why a media like that would post false information on a left centered Government. At least my opinion is that the present Government is slightly left centered. I'm not throwing stones here, just a discussion. The Miami Herald has a high rating for publishing factual data. I just don't get why everything has to become political. Let's look at the ramifications of the RV Traveler. If any borders are closed it will severely restrict the RV Traveler. It gives me such amusement to look at the travel restrictions between the US and Canada and Mexico. Recreational travel by vehicle is not permitted. Now think of that. You are in your RV and in many cases it IS your house and you cannot travel to those countries and they cannot travel to ours. but 100's of people can get on an airplane and travel back and forth to those countries. Personally, I think it is illogical. Let's just stay safe and see what the future brings.
  2. I didn't post it for any political reasons, definitely not. I posted it because it pertains to travel and if I'm not mistaken, we all travel. As most of the links suggest, it is a "consideration." The Tampa Bay media is reported as being "left center," when it comes to reporting. This information is from "mediabiasfactcheck.com." Left centered media tend to publish information that favor liberal causes. (I'm just reporting facts and not intending to start any political debate. You can do your own research, please.) If you are interested you can go to the mediabiasfactcheck web site and look up all the left, right, center, etc. news media statistics according to them. I think it is a good representation of all the media biases. Sorry Richard but I don't find this a political move by any party and I guess that only time will tell. All we can do is wait and see. We are not going to travel out of the State of Texas for several months. We may take short trips within the state. In our house with wheels or our house on sticks and bricks we do not change our routing of being safe. Masks, distances and bring food in to eat. We both have had second shots of the vaccine.
  3. This is sad. Search for the words (without quotes) "banning travel to Florida" I wonder if it is going to affect RV'ers.
  4. North of the border motorhome being shipped South and then picked up by the owners. Strange how one cannot drive across the border but a full plane of passengers can fly. I did hear that transporting that way is being cracked down by the authorities.
  5. Yep! People really don't understand that in an RV it is the same as being at home. All of the prevention's are in place as if you were in your house. Bring food in, wear masks in public, keep distances - just like in the house.
  6. Richard, I've seen where they put a blade underneath the bed of a dump truck and raise and lower the dump to scrape the road. True story: Heading to Omaha one year in wife's Town Car and on the Kansas Pike. Came to a little rise in the road and there were cars in the median ditch and emergency response was there with all lights blinking. We were traveling at the speed limit and I heard "Whhhhiiiiizzzzz." My wife was driving. I hollered "Get your foot off the break, get your foot off the break, GET YOUR FOOT OFF THE BREAK." Finally she did and we went sailing past the cars in the median. She said, "What happened," and I replied "Black Ice." I really believe that the saving grace was that the TX was in tip top mechanical condition and the trunk of suitcases was evenly distributed. If only one front wheel was tighter in breaking than the other - we would have joined those cars in the median. Funny thing was that she was a smoker at that time and did not smoke in the car. She asked, "Can I pull over and have a cigarette?" Who am I to say no - so she did. They should change the name to "Clear Ice," is the ice color really fits the color of what it is on. "Concrete Ice, Wood Ice," it's just clear ice.
  7. What's an Osasis? Sorry - I'll be out of here.
  8. Ray, you need to move to a better neighborhood!😇
  9. It doesn't! Wow! Must be an old style RV.😈
  10. Richard, I understand the dilemma. You would think they would have a battery option for a cold weather selection. You may be on the right track of just wiring a converter with the right voltage to alleviate the problem. I'd be interested in what you do.
  11. conexxelectrical, recheck the numbers and make sure they are all correct. If not, try again. Seems extremely strange that there would be a 4 year difference in chassis. That would mean it sat on the lot for a very long time before the house was built on it.
  12. Ross, Windows or MAC? Agree that caps is shouting.
  13. Richard, My communications with Ring disclosed the same thing and it has to do with the WiFi signal. The recommended, and I added, the Chime Pro. It extends coverage for the ring Ring devices. Not saying it will work within the climate that you have, but worth a try.
  14. Hey, here in Texas we have four seasons. Two weeks of Winter, a week of Spring, two weeks of Fall, and the res, 11 months, 3 weeks is Summer. Herman, all my friends live in my computer! p.s., Oh, and today it will get up to 70˚. Might see a big chill this coming Friday - Saturday.
  15. Eric, you should have an Allison 3000 six speed electric two stage engine brake transmission. Not sure about the two speed engine brake on your year, but I'll bet it is the same as mine. According to the manual the fluid change interval is 150,00 miles. I think you are good to go! p.s., I have a 2015 but the serial number is a 10T1 which indicates it was manufactured in 2014. I have some subtle but appreciated differences on the inside. A 3 burner gas range and analog control panel which I like, I think better than digital. Push buttons for slide operation instead of digital, etc.
  16. Buy a hook type ladder to hook over the window frame to assist in getting down. It could be stored in the closet. Also, if you ever have to use the exit take the comforter off the bed and throw it over the window edge to keep from getting scraped. A folding type hook ladder would store easier inside the MH. Rope ladders are okay but my belief is that one has to be nimble to desend a rope ladder in those conditions. Consider that a broken ankle, foot, leg is a small alternative to burning alive.
  17. Try using campgroundreveiws.com . Click on the state then the town you will be traveling trhough and if they have campgrounds someone has most likely stayed there and given a review. It will list all the amenities and then some.
  18. Unbelievable! (I believe you, just the benefits part that is unbelievable. So sorry for your loss!
  19. Earlene's arm is still sore. l have no affects from the shot, not even a sore arm. Hmmm! I wonder if the syringe had vaccine in it! Hmmm!
  20. The worst was the GG shot before going to VN. (GG= gamma globulin)
  21. Got shot today. Well, Earlene got one shot and I got the other of the 2nd round of MODERNA COVID-19 vaccine. The line was long and it took about 1 hour and 45 minutes from time of of car to time back in car. All in all, not bad. Long line as more and more people are getting there first shot, and those of us getting our second. Someone commented about wondering if we would have to do it again next year. My response was, "If it is advised, I'll be back." Earlene's arm is sore - I don't feel a thing. Must be a MAN thing.
  22. Maybe charge a small fee for submitting a For Sale. I'd say get a 1% commission but to many would never indicate that they sold. Sorry, it happens.
  23. Oh no! Pork should be at 135-145˚F, or sometimes called Medium. Just a little pink on the inside depending if you are on the 135 or the 145 side, with 135 more rare. Nice and juicy. The lower side of medium is chewy and the well done side is dry. 140-145 is a little on the medium rare side and I prefer 145, pull it off the grill at about 140˚. Let it sit for 10 minutes. Trichinae is killed off at 137˚F.
  24. I don't wish to see ads per se, just a classified section for users to post their RV items for sale. It would be moderated just like the forum is moderated. Bad classified, delete it. I'm talking about a click on section that would take one to a thread, like this is a thread, where items for sale could be listed. No advertisement from businesses or outsiders, just forum users.
