Bill is correct and you can plug in the portable one without plugging in the coach and see what the display says. However the PT-50 has a delay circuit so that when you plug it in it will take 2 minutes or so before power is applied to the outlet. The same thing happens if it shuts itself off. It will not come back on until the problem is corrected, and correction is automatic. Because of past experiences with plugs and electrical sockets, I now leave mine plugged into the PT-50 when stowing it. My mind set says that this will keep the socket from expanding and contracting possibly loosening it. Anyhow, works for me.

Just a year or so after my first purchase the display started acting up. I called Progressive (Maker of SG at that time) . They said the nut was loose and water had gotten in. I don't remember the exact time frame but the return was extremely quick. That all was back in 2007 or 2008. A few years ago I had another one (long story, not for here) that I though had a problem. When I explained it to the new owners they sent me another one free of charge. I had to follow the policy as Joe explained and they asked me to cut the cord going into the box. I did. I also no carry a spare. That contraption has saved me more times than I can remember. The worse one was in Kansas somewhere. We pulled in for the night (and wondered if we should turn around) and hooked up. A few hours later I noticed that it was getting warm in the MH. I checked and no AC. Went outside and looked at the box and it had the error code for low voltage. I got the meter out and checked and 1 leg (happened to be the one providing elec the AC ran on) the voltage was 102v. Maintenance man (owner) came and swapped the electrical runs in the box so the low would have the high and vice versa. We didn't run anything except the AC for the rest of the night. There have been several times during storms where power was lost or worse, brown out, and the PT-50C did it's job. Highly recommend their surge protector.

My dad grew up in Tupper Lake, NY, (Adirondacks) and told me that when he was driving a logging truck in the Winter that you could not see the tops of the telephone poles because the snow plow pushed it that high. They also drove across the lake in the winter with those logging trucks. To cold for my thinning blood! -
How can I protect my toad from road damage?

Only 1200 miles a month! What's holding you back. 😀 I typically get about 5000 to 6000 a year between June and October. Stupid COVID kept us from achieving that this year. We did get in about 500 round trip - needed to exercise Beauty! -

My 2 cents: 2013 Lincoln MKX. Start and run for 5 minutes while hooking up. Stop 2 hours later and run for 5 minutes while stretching legs. Final stop, start and run while unhooking. More serious to do this if in mountainous country as the jake/exhaust brake activates the brake lights on the toad and can run down the battery more quickly. Been towing the MKX since new and only time I had problems was when I did not stop and run it for 5 minutes. Now-a-days I carry a USB Battery Jumper similar to this. It works well. They have others with more capacity.

Real unlimited wifi plans, and reviews of them

I got rid of the $70 a month phone bill from AT&T years ago and went with Magic Jack. The app on the cell phone does not need Wifi to operate. As DocJ stated, and my iPhone will call over WiFi when connected. This past year we went from MiFi to unlimited on iPhone. I have noticed a large reduction in speed when using the AT&T Hot Spot. -

Absolutely saw him move. When we pulled up alongside of hm at a light I put the window down and exclaimed, "Cute." The driver nodded his head and the dog looked at me. At one point on the highway the dog put his head on the left shoulder of the rider. My friend is a veterinarian and when he saw the picture he said he had seen that combination before. He thought it might be the same owner and dog. -

Joe, that is just the strap from the pack that he is carring. It goes around his head. The other leg of the dog did not have anything on it. My assumption would be that rider gets on, dog gets on and in position (whatever order), and the the pack is lifted and slung over the head, capturing lightly the dog's leg. Just my observation of how I would do it. -

Safety observation, that's all. Since there is a law for back of a pickup, is there one for on the back of a motorcycle, that's all. -

Texas doesn't have a helmet law - but not sure for dogs. I do know that in Galveston County it is unlawful to have a dog in the back of a pick-up truck that is not tethered. In my past lifetime I worked for a veterinarian and one day a dog was carried in. His back paws were bloody and raw. He was tethered but either fell out or jumped out of the truck only to have the tether hold his body up all except his hind feet. For shame. Tethering is to make sure the dog can only go so far in either direction and not give enough slack that he can get out of of the bed of the truck. Like I said, the dog on the MC was cute but dangerous. The MC driver didn't have a care in the world but the rubber neckers sure could have caused an accident. -

Herman, does that price include phone calls and messaging also, or is it just for data using a MiFi or other hot spot? -

Yesterday was 74˚, and today it's 48˚, we are already in the roller coaster weather pattern. I posted this on another forum but just had to share it here: You will not believe this picture. As we were headed out of town I caught this guy pulling out of the Vet's clinic and I had to pull into a lot and wait for him to get through the light. Earlene took the picture. He left Texas City and took I-45N to Dickinson, about 8-10 miles and on the freeway it was a steady 60 mph (in the 55 mph construction zone) The dog sat behind him with his front paws on the guy's shoulders and stayed there the entire time. He was taller than the driver so he was looking over the drier's head. Real cool - but dangerous. -

The longer you look at them the less obtrusive they become. -
Do you get HD with the dome? In my heyday DirecTV could not provide HD to any Dome antenna and that is what I went with Dish. Never regretted it. I have the Hopper 3 at the house and if I want to I can record 16 channels at one time. In the MH I have the Wally, only record 2, but I got all the HD in the previous with a Dome and now with the Traveler it's a piece of cake.

Roland, prayers for your son and you. We presently are thinking of going down to Port Aransas in the middle of January for two weeks then maybe down to Mission for two weeks. Might be a coffee day somewhere in the neighborhood. -

I used a BLue Ox tow screen for several years on my 2007 Saturn, and then on my 2013 MKX. Not much of a hassle connecting it but eventually it wore out. However, during that time chips still appeared on the cars, not so much the hood, but the side of the car around the door. Most likely from passing trucks. I'm not sure if there is a 100% cure all. Since I have had the 2013 MKX since 2013, it has a few dings but most likely some are from the MH but the majority are probably from traffic in front of me. Depreciation on the MKX will be so much by the time I sell it or trade it that I'm no longer worried about it. -
Ross, have you unplugged and plug the cables a number of times? If so, sometimes they will loosen and lose connectivity or cause problems. Next time it happens see if applying a little pressure on the cable connection in any direction clears it up. Also check the back of the TV. Otherwise, you may have a bad receiver.
