  1. Safety observation, that's all. Since there is a law for back of a pickup, is there one for on the back of a motorcycle, that's all.
  2. Texas doesn't have a helmet law - but not sure for dogs. I do know that in Galveston County it is unlawful to have a dog in the back of a pick-up truck that is not tethered. In my past lifetime I worked for a veterinarian and one day a dog was carried in. His back paws were bloody and raw. He was tethered but either fell out or jumped out of the truck only to have the tether hold his body up all except his hind feet. For shame. Tethering is to make sure the dog can only go so far in either direction and not give enough slack that he can get out of of the bed of the truck. Like I said, the dog on the MC was cute but dangerous. The MC driver didn't have a care in the world but the rubber neckers sure could have caused an accident.
  3. Herman, does that price include phone calls and messaging also, or is it just for data using a MiFi or other hot spot?
  4. Yesterday was 74˚, and today it's 48˚, we are already in the roller coaster weather pattern. I posted this on another forum but just had to share it here: You will not believe this picture. As we were headed out of town I caught this guy pulling out of the Vet's clinic and I had to pull into a lot and wait for him to get through the light. Earlene took the picture. He left Texas City and took I-45N to Dickinson, about 8-10 miles and on the freeway it was a steady 60 mph (in the 55 mph construction zone) The dog sat behind him with his front paws on the guy's shoulders and stayed there the entire time. He was taller than the driver so he was looking over the drier's head. Real cool - but dangerous.
  5. The longer you look at them the less obtrusive they become.
  6. Do you get HD with the dome? In my heyday DirecTV could not provide HD to any Dome antenna and that is what I went with Dish. Never regretted it. I have the Hopper 3 at the house and if I want to I can record 16 channels at one time. In the MH I have the Wally, only record 2, but I got all the HD in the previous with a Dome and now with the Traveler it's a piece of cake.
  7. Roland, prayers for your son and you. We presently are thinking of going down to Port Aransas in the middle of January for two weeks then maybe down to Mission for two weeks. Might be a coffee day somewhere in the neighborhood.
  8. I used a BLue Ox tow screen for several years on my 2007 Saturn, and then on my 2013 MKX. Not much of a hassle connecting it but eventually it wore out. However, during that time chips still appeared on the cars, not so much the hood, but the side of the car around the door. Most likely from passing trucks. I'm not sure if there is a 100% cure all. Since I have had the 2013 MKX since 2013, it has a few dings but most likely some are from the MH but the majority are probably from traffic in front of me. Depreciation on the MKX will be so much by the time I sell it or trade it that I'm no longer worried about it.
  9. Ross, have you unplugged and plug the cables a number of times? If so, sometimes they will loosen and lose connectivity or cause problems. Next time it happens see if applying a little pressure on the cable connection in any direction clears it up. Also check the back of the TV. Otherwise, you may have a bad receiver.
  10. Wow! Quite some time and no new unread content. What is everyone doing, sleeping, eating, or what?
  11. "But officer, I got in the HOV lane by accident and the double line will not let me get out." I mean gosh, breaking two laws would make it right, right?
  12. Roger that Ken. Not for big guys.
  13. Correct on many parks do not have HC sites, but many keep a site open close to the wash house to accommodate HC. Many travelers in RV's don't have TOADS, might have a class C or a mini-van, and can have HC plates. Also, rest stops are now having more HC sites so a plate would be good to have. On the other hand, my TOAD has HC plates and the MH has "Disabled Veteran" plates. Gives me the same advantage, if I decided to take the advantage, of paring in an HC spot. Also, many departments of motor vehicles give a good monetary break for HC.
  14. Wow! They are sure proud of their campground. You went over 800 miles in a day's drive! That's 4 days for me!
  15. Texas City, TX, 14 miles from Galveston. Itchin' to go.
  16. Personally it is not the discount that I am after, it is the convenience of not having to stop at toll booth, after toll booth. Discounts are nice, but to me not as nice as the convenience.
  17. John, the key word there is "workED." How long has this family member been retired? Things chage. Personally if I wanted to know something specific about anything I would call that entity and ask questions. There are to many he said, she said things on the Internet and in email. Happy trails!
  18. Can't imagine why anyone would want to go back North until April!🐵
  19. As I have stated previously, the NC QuickPass/EZ-Pass is my solution. Good in 18 states. NC QuickPass/EZ-Pass
  20. I think so as the URL indicates "Community FMCA COM" I just think it is a poor web design. Logging into one should allow a user to enter both. Just MHO.
  21. Try Bank of the West. I've financed two through them with no hassle.
  22. I wanted something with more versatility so I went with the Bose Soundlink Micro. Not cheap at $99 for one. I bought two, but I think they were on sale. What is nice about them is the ability to separate the speakers to any distance you want. Think outside TV and picnic table behind you, i front, or two side tables. Also there are 2 modes. Stand alone or "party" mode, and Stereo mode. In party mode each speaker is independent and is monophonic. Nice for patios or other venues of partying. Or, put them in stereo mode and have full separation. I use them with the iPhone, iPod, computer and other varying blue tooth devices. On the funny side, I'm hard of hearing (Earlene calls it selective hearing) and if I don't want to put my hearing aids in when I'm sitting here at the computer and to lazy to get up to get them, I'll turn the Soundlink on to sterio mode and put them on my shoulders. Hey, works for me!!
  23. He's not better, he's perfect!!
