  1. Yep! Only about 1600 miles out of the way! I think I put 30-40 miles on since the 1st of the year. That was just to exercise it. San Antonio and back will be about 500 miles. We also try and get out of here for the hot Summer time but didn't do it this year. Depending on how things go in 2021 we hope to be back on the road meeting and greeting.
  2. Joe, I can imagine that you are a nice guy. However, I'm not going to PA or FL on my way to San Antonio just to see you. However, on your way to FL my driveway can handle a 40' (even a 43') MH and I can provide 50amp and water. Dump stations about 2 miles away and is free. (A 43' would have to be backed up onto 3 stacked sets of 2 x 12's. Not for the faint of heart but I do it all the time. Earlene is the ground guide)
  3. Put the "Beauty" in for its annual PM. Found out there is a recall on my 2010-2015 Cummins for a faulty SCR system. Strange that the recall came out in 2018 and the technician at Freightliner told me about it yesterday. Sure would be nice to be notified by manufacturers when recalls are issued.
  4. You didn't hold you mouth right the first time!!
  5. Okay, I have relatives in Central Mass. so my question is, will you have an extra RV pad for me to stay on? We head out to San Antonio for about 10 days. Our first trip since last year. Very much looking forward to it.
  6. Wow! First post and it a SLAM! Friends of ours RV'ing in a motorhome were in Florida visiting from Arkansas. He had emergency heart surgery and they had to put an LVAD (look it up) in him. He has no pulse now - nada. FMCA Assist flew him and his wife in a Lear Jet equipped with medical devices and hospital providers back to Arkansas. They paid for the transfer of his motorhome back to Arkansas. His cost was ZERO DOLLARS. Now is that worth $75 a year?
  7. Mark, A little different system with my HDMI Matrix but connectivity should be the same. The Cat 5 cables should already be run to all the remote IR extenders. All I had to do was 'mark' (read that again, 'mark') the cables on the back of the HDMI 4 x 4 splitter, unplug everything and install the new one. I also replaced each IR remote. I only have 3 TV's. I removed each IR Remote, unplugged the cables (Only should be two, Cat5 and HDMI, plugged the new one in and screwed the IR remote back into where it came from. My matrix looked like this Cat5/6e Matrix When I referred to "IR Remote" it should have been "remote receiver" as indicated in my manual Here is the link to the manual for my system. I provide the information to just give you some ideas. Hope it was helpful.
  8. Don't blame you. Darn COVID is keeping us in but maybe Nov we will go somewhere for a "fix." If'n you get down Galveston way, we are only 14 miles up on the mainland. Joe, That is excactly how NC QuickPass/EzPass works for us with 1 transponder. When towing the transponder is in the coach and the TOAD gets treated as a trailer. Both coach and toad are registered with the one transponder. When we set up camp we transfer the transponder to the TOAD for running around and sight seeing. Don't need the added expense of a second transponder. This is how the power that be told me to use it. See my reply to Joe.
  9. I don't know why, but this is what I find clicking on the NCQuickPass web site. Doc, I'd call them and speak to them about it. I found them very helpful on the phone. You don't need to commit, just ask questions.
  10. Why would you need two transponders. Doc, are you thinking of the $20 to populate the account? I only paid $7.40 for the transponder. They also send a window sticker but I was told to not use it, just transfer the transponder back and forth between vehicles. Towing with the transponder and having the sticker on the TOAD would confuse the booths and charges for both could be incurred. The go by # of axles, so my rig get's charged for 5 axles. (MH - TAG, and TOAD)
  11. Blue Ox has a rated 10,000 lb towbar. I have it pulling an SUV. It has been very reliable over the years.
  12. I have the NC Quick Pass and it works in 18 states. Transponder was $7.95 a few years ago. Transponder goes in MH, TOAD get counted. Parked in an RV Park transponder goes in TOAD and works just as well. Charge accordingly and appropriately. Consider a search on NC Quick Pass/EZ pass and call them. You may want to switch out unless you stay in MD. NC Quick Pass/EZ pass

Get better sooner Herman - miss you. (Well, I had to say that last part!)
  14. Ray, it is not automatic. You have to sign up for Google Groups. I'm not sure if any of the substance on Yahoo can be migrated, but we started out on Google Groups without stuff that was on Yahoo. I have an email client, not web mail, and as such anything I want to keep is on my computer. With web mail I don't think you can do that. There are so many free email clients that run "stand-alone" on computers. I use Apple Mail. Over a decade ago I ran Outlook, and Thunderbird. Outlook came with MS Windows. It is pricey now as a single purchase. Thunderbird is a free open-source download and would be my choice of clients. .
  15. Ray, we knew a few months ago Yahoo was shutting down "groups," and we migrated over to Google Groups. Works well.
  16. I get Melanie and Ross. Last three 829. First time I got the other ones also. This time only you two but I narrowed my search to last name, city, and state. Just brought up the two of you. Yep, I do think there is a problem with the directory. I searched for names I know are FMCA members and they did not come up. I also don't like the new format.
  17. I believe that shotguns are allowed, but not positive of that. Traveling since the 1970's rv'ing with hiatus here and there. Not once in all the years have I ever needed a firearm. I have been LTC (License To Carry) here in Texas for over a dozen years. In all those years I have never had the urge to unholster my weapon. When we know we are leaving the State of Texas I leave my weapons home because we go aboard military installations and not all are acceptable to bringing in firearms. Some do, with armory privileges, but many do not. Really not a big deal for us.
  18. If you had come by Texas City way I'd have treated you to some ice water on the patio.
  19. Ross, I found you by last name and state in Anderson.
  20. But then the states would not make any money on licenses and arrests of people carrying without licenses. You need to be careful of any state you travel through and be aware of their laws. Yes, the federal law allows a person to pass through a state with firearms but if you stop for fuel or anything else you are not "passing through." Be careful. Know the law.
  21. I just tried it using the Dashboard to get to it. I put in my city and it gave me the names of people who are registered.
  22. That's funny!! log in using the URL "community.fmca.com" Just type that in the URL or bookmark it and you should be good to go.
