  1. Carl, you may be right. (oops, did I say that). I just didn't check my spec sheet.
  2. Older model. That is why it is so important to read the manual that applies to your particular application. It was determined the Ethylene Glycal is very toxic, whereas polypropylene glycol is used in cosmetics with very low toxicity. Ethylene can be used at very low temperatures, I guess that is why the state for my 400-D to not lower the basement thermostat to less than 40 degrees. .
  3. My Aqua Hot is different. I have the 400-D series. (2015) The heat ex-changer at the register has a fan. It comes on when the demand is there (only takes a few seconds for the Aqua Hot to produce heat to pump. The heat ex-changer receives the hot coolant through the piping and returns it to the AH. The fan in the heat ex-changer is the force for the hot air to flow out of the register. That was the way it was described to me. From my manual: My bolded text "Thermostats: The interior room thermostat can be set at the desired temperature; therefore, whenever the interior of the room “calls for heat”, the Aqua-Hot’s circulation pump and interior heat exchanger fans will be activated. The fresh water thermostat controls the bay heating area and should NOT be set below 40°F, to prevent freezing of the domestic water storage system. Please contact the specific motor home dealer for exact location of thermostat controls." Also contact dealer or manufacture for model of Aqua-Hot. Manuals do change.
  4. Bill, with your high end coach I'll wager that your basement is like mine and is heated. The Aqua Hot Guru, Rudy Legett, said to run the Aqua Hot every 4 to 6 weeks and you only have to run it for one cycle. Turn it on, let it build and when it shuts off you can turn it off. That is the DIESEL side of it. It is to keep the nozzle from coagulating. The best way to check the coolant is with a refractometer (about $20 on Amazon), not strips. It is the recommended method in the Aqua Hot Manual Only use propylene glycol as the antifreez. Best to buy it directly from Aqua-Hot. Blah blah blah - manual is good read. p.s, since you are running the Aqua Hot to satisfy the requirements, turn the thermostat to a temperature that will activate the heat exchangers. This exercises those, at the register, and it exercises the pumps in the Aqua Hot. Only need to do it for a 1 minute or so.
  5. Puffer fish is a delicacy that has to be specially prepared by a trained chef. Would I take the chance. Nope! Guantanamo Bay Cuba 1971-1974. They did not have a "sanctioned" SCUBA course like NAUI or PADI, but they did have their own course. It was so rigid that carrying a GTMO Reef Raiders diving card in the states one could get a tank full of air with no problems. Just show the card. (Now-a-days probably don't even need a card.) About 5 or 6 months after I got there PADI was the course. I became a Dive Master and then an Assistant Instructor with PADI and just kept a basic NAUI card (took that course also - but basically assisted the instructor for the card.) Diving there was fantastic. If one wanted, they never had to go deeper than 30 feet for fantastic sea life and coral reefs. One beach had 70 foot bottom at about 50 yards and then the Continental Shelf for the drop-off. (That's why the Nave loves that port for training.) Earlene took the basic PADI and then the Night Diving course. After two night dives with one having a barracuda swim by her mask, and another night of a shark almost coming face to face with her - she gave up night diving. Hee hee! Back in the States in '74. Let the assistant instructor card expire as there was not much other than a few wrecks to dive on and insurance was going up. Kept the Dive Master card and still have it. No expiration date. I don't have any intentions of diving any day soon. 🤠
  6. The cheek of the fish is a delicacy in many part of the world. You don't get much but it is good. Even some poisonous fish cheek is good to eat. Don't remember which kind. Comes from my Scuba Diving days in the Caribbean. Not much out of the ocean is not edible.
  7. DB, what sauce are you on, I want some. Fish head soup, for sure.
  8. Dang! Never had those limits when I was growing up. Oh well!
  9. I took one apart. Pretty well sealed in with electrical sealant. Very hard like a glue. I would not attempt to fix one.
  10. In my teens one didn't need a permit, just go dig. Somewhere along the line politicians noticed they could make money off of permits - and so goes the story. p.s., question: Do they put a limit on how many you can harvest?
  11. Bill is correct and you can plug in the portable one without plugging in the coach and see what the display says. However the PT-50 has a delay circuit so that when you plug it in it will take 2 minutes or so before power is applied to the outlet. The same thing happens if it shuts itself off. It will not come back on until the problem is corrected, and correction is automatic. Because of past experiences with plugs and electrical sockets, I now leave mine plugged into the PT-50 when stowing it. My mind set says that this will keep the socket from expanding and contracting possibly loosening it. Anyhow, works for me.
  12. Just a year or so after my first purchase the display started acting up. I called Progressive (Maker of SG at that time) . They said the nut was loose and water had gotten in. I don't remember the exact time frame but the return was extremely quick. That all was back in 2007 or 2008. A few years ago I had another one (long story, not for here) that I though had a problem. When I explained it to the new owners they sent me another one free of charge. I had to follow the policy as Joe explained and they asked me to cut the cord going into the box. I did. I also no carry a spare. That contraption has saved me more times than I can remember. The worse one was in Kansas somewhere. We pulled in for the night (and wondered if we should turn around) and hooked up. A few hours later I noticed that it was getting warm in the MH. I checked and no AC. Went outside and looked at the box and it had the error code for low voltage. I got the meter out and checked and 1 leg (happened to be the one providing elec the AC ran on) the voltage was 102v. Maintenance man (owner) came and swapped the electrical runs in the box so the low would have the high and vice versa. We didn't run anything except the AC for the rest of the night. There have been several times during storms where power was lost or worse, brown out, and the PT-50C did it's job. Highly recommend their surge protector.
  13. Are those not warranted for life of ownership?
  14. My dad grew up in Tupper Lake, NY, (Adirondacks) and told me that when he was driving a logging truck in the Winter that you could not see the tops of the telephone poles because the snow plow pushed it that high. They also drove across the lake in the winter with those logging trucks. To cold for my thinning blood!
  15. Only 1200 miles a month! What's holding you back. 😀 I typically get about 5000 to 6000 a year between June and October. Stupid COVID kept us from achieving that this year. We did get in about 500 round trip - needed to exercise Beauty!
  16. DB, I spent the first 18 years of my life in Central Mass., but it was an accident of birth.
  17. I had to turn the heat on looking at that.
  18. My 2 cents: 2013 Lincoln MKX. Start and run for 5 minutes while hooking up. Stop 2 hours later and run for 5 minutes while stretching legs. Final stop, start and run while unhooking. More serious to do this if in mountainous country as the jake/exhaust brake activates the brake lights on the toad and can run down the battery more quickly. Been towing the MKX since new and only time I had problems was when I did not stop and run it for 5 minutes. Now-a-days I carry a USB Battery Jumper similar to this. It works well. They have others with more capacity.
  19. I got rid of the $70 a month phone bill from AT&T years ago and went with Magic Jack. The app on the cell phone does not need Wifi to operate. As DocJ stated, and my iPhone will call over WiFi when connected. This past year we went from MiFi to unlimited on iPhone. I have noticed a large reduction in speed when using the AT&T Hot Spot.
  20. Absolutely saw him move. When we pulled up alongside of hm at a light I put the window down and exclaimed, "Cute." The driver nodded his head and the dog looked at me. At one point on the highway the dog put his head on the left shoulder of the rider. My friend is a veterinarian and when he saw the picture he said he had seen that combination before. He thought it might be the same owner and dog.
  21. Joe, that is just the strap from the pack that he is carring. It goes around his head. The other leg of the dog did not have anything on it. My assumption would be that rider gets on, dog gets on and in position (whatever order), and the the pack is lifted and slung over the head, capturing lightly the dog's leg. Just my observation of how I would do it.
