  1. Your inverter/charger is working as Brett just said, if you have a bad cell in any one of your batteries, the charger may be overcharging because of this condition, ie. staying in bulk mode because of the bad or weaker battery.
  2. If I were Carl, I'd stay with pork chops in the fridge, and don't quit your day job.
  3. If there was nothing pulling any power from the house batteries, the drop should be almost none. But you must factor in any posiblity of a parasitic drain. Best way to test is use the disconnect switch after a full charge. Then you can watch for the drop, as stated earlier by others, 13.2 to 13.5 should be available on both banks immediately after unplugging. If the drop happens within 30 minute to close to 12 volts, then that could be the sign of a bad battery in the bank, that's why a good current test device needs to happen right after the batteries have been completely charged.
  4. This can also be caused by an incorrect entry in your browser cache, try clearing cookies and website history in your browser settings. Just be aware that some websites will ask for user and passwords after you do this, so be sure that you have that info handy. No your computer does not store this info for many sites, but rather installs cookies on your computer to remember whether a particular pc has visited their website before, and if the info matches, then it will let you re-enter.
  5. The giver must shop at one of those dollar stores where everything is $1.. I have used one in the past while in a bind for lack of my tool bag one that cost less than $6.00 that read in tenths. Hope you get this resolved soon, the repairman stated that the batteries were being overcharged, the alternator on the coach may have been charging in bulk mode to try to overcome the weak battery situation, or may mean that the voltage regulator on the coach system has gone bad, it may be built into the alternator or an external depending on make and model.
  6. Well, 1975 was my first trip to DC, we were trying to get to the capital building, ten different policemen told me to turn left on some street, not Pennsylvania, just 2 blocks past Paul Revere statue. I passed 10 different Paul Revere's, commented to my wife that they must have really loved Paul Revere, anyway the tenth police officer said, "I'll show you the way", he then cranked his motorcycle and proceeded, we only saw Paul one more time. Long story short, he was telling me the wrong name for the street that I was supposed to turn, the road that I was on was one that actually circled around the capital, but was far away enough that you could still not see the dome, LOL!
  7. A little more info on your coach will be helpful. Gasoline front engine, or diesel pusher? I assume that it probably is an automatic transmission. Anyway, to try to answer, if it is automatic, probably will not be too hard to adjust to using the left leg, I had knee surgery on the right knee a few years back and was able to use the left foot pretty comfortably. But since an amputee in your case, I would look into having the accelerator moved to the left of the steering post and possibly the brake pedal also. If a DP will easier to accomplish than gas, but both are doable. I have worked with many handicapped persons in the past, and a professional installer can be a good starting place, you will not have to engage one but a trip to one can give you many ideas. Sorry to hear about the amputee status, but hopefully it will not be a crippling effect or even permanent. I have a friend that is retired now but he actually made prosthetics for more than forty years, and tells me that the industry has really made amazing progress in both fitting and usability over the years. Hope you have many happy trails and tales.
  8. If it's the one at the top right, a little wd40 or any other good spray, you will need to be on a ladder and spray a little directly into the latch itself. Now with a pair of pliers, gently move the latch up and down, back and forth. Most of the time with several sprays and gentleness it will move, unless of course the latch is broken, and in that case the end cap will need to be removed and properly repaired by someone that has already done this type of repair before, please don't attempt to do this type repair without proper instruction, as the spring load works directly off the end caps.
  9. I did not vote on this issue for a reason, I certainly hope to see FMCA grow and continue many more good benefits each and every year. When I go to campgrounds now I park amidst many towables and many MH's. I have very few complaints among most other tenants in the parks. Therefore I am happy to see new blood come aboard and hope that the vote is a step in the right direction. I'm currently paid well into 2021 and will still proudly keep the eggs in their respective places, both front and rear.
  10. I prefer propane over gasoline for my genset also. I currently use a Honda propane genset in my bus conversion due to cost of the unit over diesel, and the weight factor was part of my decision to use propane. Spare bottles of propane are much safer than gas cans filled with gas. especially since I can't pull gasoline from my onboard 156 gallon diesel tank, LOL.
  11. In this instance, the brake specifies 2 amp max, means that the brake system uses a maximum of two amps, so if you want to plug into a 10 or any amp for that matter, that is above 2 amps, you will good to go. The brake system will have it's own fusing system to protect itself from harm. Just like plugging in an appliance at home, most outlets at home are 15 to 20 amps, and you plug your computer, max 2.5 amps, the computer is ok because it is internally protected. Brett is correct that the charge line from coach to toad is always best of all worlds, you can then use a hot toad outlet to run the braking system, most cars of later models have several of these in various locations, including most suv's have one near the rear hatch for convience, just make sure that the outlet is hot if the ignition is off, if not, provisions will need to be made to remedy this. For a little more clarification, the fuse at the power source distribution box/panel, is designed to protect against overheating the wiring to the point of entry of your appliance, this in turn is your protection against the wire getting too hot and causing a fire.
  12. Maybe I'm missing something, I actually believe WhiteEagle is referring to a portable battery/jumper. I have a couple of them and I plug them in to 120 volt outlet while parked to recharge the unit then plug the braking system into that unit while towing the toad, this is just using the jumper instead of the toad battery. If this is not correct, W-E please correct me.
  13. I have exactly the same issue as kathylarry above, Verizon very slippery-slimey. Only difference is I have two hotspots, one 4510L and one 7730L, that's the only way that I can get the full 22 gig before dropping down to snail speed, and must be very careful not to go over the 15 on either one, if I do both will drop. I applied for the FMCA discount, only got email that I would see the discount after the next two billing cycles. I don't believe that either. This is not a FMCA issue, just more of Verizon's shenanigans. I received my email from Verizon on 11/13, and here is a copy of my data usage for one of the hotspots as of 11/28 9:20 PM. Stream all you want, you've got unlimited data 4G LTE only. After 22GB, in times of congestion, your data may be temporarily prioritized behind other traffic. Mobile Hotspot/tethering reduced to speeds up to 600Kbps after 15GB/mo. Domestic data roaming at 2G speeds; int'l data reduced to 2G speeds after 512 MB/day. Oh and by the way, 600 kbs is a lie also, after 10 gig back in July my data was reduced to 70 kbs, my dial up modem will produce 56 kbs, it took 2 months (two billing cycles) for my speed to get back to normal Hope others have better luck than I !
  14. I had to replace one of my two, they are 8 gallons each, last year. I called diesel radiator in Chicago for pricing, waited three weeks with no return call. I called Bryco in Gadsden Al, took the core to them and was quoted $2000.00 to completely overhaul, they shipped it to Dallas Tx., with a return date of 9 working days. While it was away, Diesel radiator (the original manufacturer) of the radiator called me, their price was $1548.00 new, no core exchange. Wow, wish you would have called me three weeks ago.
  15. Sub freezing temperatures? KEONISMS! Keon, I have an aluminum 15 gallon boat gas tank that I used for two years on the previous Generac genny, has hose port on top with breathing tube. About 9 inch tall 17X 19 rectangular. I will measure it tomorrow for exact size and let you know.
  16. Keon, what about a gallon can of non ethanol with sta-bil or similar fuel stabilizer put a y in the fuel line just before the genny fuel pump, use two ball valves, one on the coach fuel system and one on the gallon can. Just before shutting down the genny, switch from the coach fuel to the gallon can, run the genny long enough for the non treated gas to be used and a good supply of treated gas to be used by the genny. Now switch back to the coach fuel after the genny has been shutdown. Just a thought! The Honda line of generators recommend using only 10% gasoline/ ethanol in their generators, never more than that or never use straight gasoline in their motors, they claim that their motors are set up this way on purpose. I have an older gasoline welder that I only run alcohol/ethanol free in, and I always add stabil to the fuel when parked for more than a day. Also I used to always run the carbureator dry when storing for the winter, again, Honda motors do not work well that way, as rsbilledwards says, ASK ME HOW I KNOW. LOL
  17. Anyone have any ideas for a removable awning? Maybe something that easily slides into a track when we want to sit outside? We've already considered the pop-up shelters, but we thought that something which attaches to the bus when we're camping would be more stable. This was Richards quote, not mine. I can understand why one might consider this rather than a EZ up, wind and rain will not destroy as quickly as the EZ up freestanding, and the EZ up is slanted on all sides, if you want it next to the bus, water will be draining between the bus and the patio, sometimes not most desirable.
  18. If anyone is interested in a cheap tire cover that works well, coraplast is the material that sign makers use to make those temporary sign that show up all over the place during an election season. Most of the sign shops keep lots of it on hand and it comes in many colors, mostly white. It can be cut with a pair of scissors and can be folded for easy storage. I use white and cut to fit inside the wheel well from the ground up, stiff enough to stand alone and no straps needed if the fit is good. Just a little almost on the same subject.
  19. After checking and clearing any and all blockages, you may also check to see if your coach has an accumulator in the plumbing, if it does, check the air pressure on it and fill according to the specs on the accumulator. If it does not have one, they are inexpensive and easy to add on.https://www.ebay.com/itm/RV-Pre-Pressurized-Expansion-Water-Pump-Accumulator-Tank-Boat-Pressure-Faucet/192289344140?epid=513173471&hash=item2cc5568a8c:g:co8AAOSwVRpZoXh3&vxp=mtr
  20. A bag awning might be acceptable, you would need to add an awning rail track to the side of the coach but when the awning is not attached the rail is hardly visible. My rail track is riveted to the roof drip rail. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Classic-RV-Bag-Awning-Self-Contained-12-FT-NEW-FREE-SHIPPING/252443295274?hash=item3ac6cafe2a:g:jo8AAOxyi-ZTbCLC&vxp=mtr This is listed on ebay so you cantake a look at it. I did not use one of these as I like the ability to push a button and watch them go into place. Only problem with a bag awning (other than work) is you will need a ladder to slide it into the rail.
  21. Don't miss the stature of Paul Revere while in DC! Wish I had time to tell the story, LOL.
  22. If it has not already been changed to electronic you will. Simply check the number and make sure that it is electronic, if not, you will need to change it out, otherwise there is not enough heat generated for the flasher to flash. With it being 2003, possibility is real good that it came from the factory with electronic. Welcome to the forum, many happy trails. Don't forget to check the emergency flasher also, most cases it is separate from turn signals.
  23. I'll just add this, I have been well trained, I have a concealed carry permit that is good in about 34 states currently. I only go where it is legal to carry mine, and will stay away from the states and other countries that it is illegal for me to carry. Yes I carry in my motorhome and even to church on Sunday, have been doing this for quite a number of years, and no when someone sees me they will never have a clue that it is there. I work in 35 different courthouses around my state, my firearm is the last thing that I take off before entering, and the first thing that I put back on when leaving. I am not paranoid but have had to get it out on three occasions over those years and would not hesitate to use it had the assailents not retreated. I don't believe that everyone should carry, but I certainly hope that the ones that that do have had proper training of when and how to use it. I do have law enforcement officers in the immedient family.
