  1. Yea, I know too well about the swing area end. My DW has threatened put a hole in my boat. Jim
  2. Ron, Thanks for the info, I will check my wiring schematics to check the jack circuits. Jim
  3. My 2004 Holiday Rambler Endeavor has always retracted the jacks automatically when the ignition switch in the RUN position, (regardless of parking brake position) brakes will not automatically retract when in the ACC position, switch must be in ACC position to raise and lower jacks.
  4. I have Dish programing and Tailgater Cube, only complaint that I have is getting programing reactivated after several weeks of non use. You have to call DISH to initiate program, if you identify your system as a Tailgater they are lost and they will give you the run around. I have found out if you just give them the receiver serial number and smart card number its a snap.
  5. My wife traveled the Pan American several times in the mid 60's as a teenager with her parents. We both grew up in the former Canal Zone. They traveled in International Travelall pulling a 23' travel trailer. She has many great memories from the trips.
  6. I would check the starter solenoid to determine if you have voltage on the solenoid coil when the starting switch is activated. If you generator is installed on a pullout, check all of the wiring that has potential damage as the generator is pulled in and out. Jim

    COACH BATTERIES

Blue Sea offers several automatic auto charging relays (ACR) that are popular in the marine industry. I have two of them on my boat and they have been in service for over eight years and have performed flawlessly. They allow for the batteries to be tied together if either system is above 12.8 volts. I believe the switching is done with an electronic device, not a electrical/mechanical solenoid. Blue Sea has an excellent web site with electrical schematics. Jim

    Cat C-9 Review

An thoughts on issues with the C-9 engine, been eyeing 05 Beaver 38' with 38 k miles. Seller reports engine rated at 400 hp and 1250 ft lbs torque. Do these numbers seem correct. Jim

    House Batteries

I just installed residential refrigeration and I have been looking in installing auto-start for my generator. I have a Magnum inverter/charger and have found that the residential refrigerator is requiring 10 amps from coach batteries for normal operation. I only have 4 Interstate 6 volt golf cart batteries and have not experienced any problems going for a couple of days without running the generator or traveling down the road. The auto generator auto-start feature can be added to the Magnum inverter/charger for a couple hundred $ VS $600-$700 to installing the ONAN auto-start. Jim
  10. I would also expect that the carburetor needle valve is not seating properly. Make sure that that you pull the spark plugs and rotate the engine before starting to make sure you don't have a cylinder full of fluid () that could cause a hydraulic block. Jim
  11. Anyone have experience comparing their 6 volt RV batteries?
  12. Has anyone added auto start feature on a Onan 7.5 Quitet Diesel? Just installed a residential refrigerator and thought that it might be a good addition. Jim
  13. Check you ac circuit breaker it may be tripped, if you find it tripped one of the heaters may be shorted out. Jim
  14. I am on the 5th replacement for the recall fix that monitors the chimney temperature. I have not been charged for any of the replacement, just the inconvenience. Repair facilities do not stock the require parts and Norcold only ships parts after it is verified that parts are faulty, this usually required two trips to execute the repair. Real pain is you are on the road. Jim
  15. I'm in the same boat. I just ordered a residential unit to replace the Norcold. Seems there has been an unusual amount of failurers in the last few days. Jim
  16. I'm in the same boat, I have the doors off the Norcold and have a Samsung 17.5 cu ft French door model on order. It look like there is going to be no problem getting either units thru the doornonce I remove the passenger chair. Jim
  17. Most hydraulic system have means to manually reposition hydraulic cylinders by opening a by-pass valve which allows the hydraulic cylinder to be moved mechanically in either the extended or retracted position. Once the cylinder in placed in the desired position the by-pass valve can be closed to secure it in the desired position. I would check the coach owners manual to determine is the feature is available. Jim
  18. Is anyone running a 17.f Cu Ft Samsung French Door refrigerator on a modified sine wave inverter? The units running current is 1.1 amps and the dimensions are real favorable for replacing a Norcold 1200 LRIM. Thank for any input. Jim
  19. Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket cooling units? Research doesn't provide much confidence of customer service. Trying to evaluate conversion to residential refrigerator vs. repair of Norcold unit. Replace cooling units are available for as low as $650. Being a do-it-you-selfer I'm confident that I successfully install the new cooling unit. Please offer any thoughts. Jim
  20. There are some restrictions on fruits, vegetables and meats that you will need to check on. Jim
  21. I agree with Rich, I have the same refrigeration and I have had the LP fail to ignite and it has always be corrected by removing the small cover around the burner and taking shop vacuum to clean rusty debris that shorts out the igniter. Jim
  22. Attached are is the troubleshooting flow chart for a "NO CRANK" situation. You will need to tape them together. Jim
  23. Glad to hear that it was something simple. Jim
  24. Jim, I have a flow troubleshooting flow charts for 2004 Roadmaster chassis, the drawing say is applies to a Cheetah. The flow chart included "NO CRANK" and "NO START" situations. Send me a PM and I will email you the flow charts. Jim
  25. Rick, I also have Troubleshooting FLOW CHARTS in my owners manual for different fault conditions, including NO CRANK and NO START. The are quite specific with details including elementary wiring schematic and flow charts that include flow charts that you follow based on your findings at each junction point. Unfortunately I don't have a scanner larger enough to scan and pass on to you. I will check on Monday to see I can find that capability locally and can email them to you. Let me know if you want me to proceed. Regards, Jim
