I found the auto start feature more affordable by utilizing the features of my inverter/charger. Mine is a Magnum and they offer an accessory,( mine was less than $275) that uses a communication link between the module and the inverter/charger and you program your parameters with existing man machine interface. You can program for auto start upon low battery voltage, coach temperature and you can also block of time for quite time to prevent generator start. Just got mine for Xmas, waiting for warmer weather to install. Jim

Ray, Just checked my manual only cause mentioned for no generator output when light is on is tripped circuit breaker. The manual also mentions that fault codes will disappear after a given period of time, you can recover the fault codes by pressing the stop button three times in a five second period. The only mention of possible blown fuses is if the generator will not crank. Hope this will help your cause. JIm

Ray, Just looked on line and there is procedure to recover fault codes from the start stop switch on you generator. I think that would be a good starting point to determine your problem. Jim

Ray, Do you have your Onan manual with you, if not I will go and get mine to determine if there any fuses for the generator internal controls. Jim

Where are you checking the generator output voltage, before or after the transfer switch? If you are checking after the transfer switch, the problem may be in the transfer switch. Unfortunately if the problem is with the generator it is difficult to troubleshoot without the proper diagnostic tools. About the only thing that you can do is a visual inspection of connections and any sign of burnt components or wiring. Good luck. Jim

Your wife is more forgiving than mine, To make thinks worst she ask me before I turned into the gas station if we would be able to get out, my response was SURE.

Have you contacted Dish to activate your receiver? I have the Tailgater if I don't use at least once every few weeks I have to contact them to reactivate the receiver. Jim

Been there done that. Have owned motorhomes since 1984, never put a scratch in one until the DP that we purchased in 2011. Last fall we traveled to northern California and had the same experience with the barrier at a diesel pump, nothing that $8k could not take care of. My DW has threatened to punch a hole in my boat. Best wishes for better luck in 2017. Jim

I carry an infrared temperature gun that use for checking the holding tank temperature to make sure they don't freeze. Also use for checking tire, brakes, etc. You can find them at Harbor Freightt for about $30. I have checked their accuracy with name brand units a d have found them to accurate. Jim

The 1500 watt Hester will cost you 15 cents a hour if your electrical rate is 10 cents per kWh. I expect the heater will run continuously if it is were cold. Doesn't take long go rack up your electric bill. Jim

I had cable system on previous MH, my system had pulleys on the corners where the cable changes direction 90 degrees. These pulleys are under significant and the bearing need lubricated regularly. Jim

On each occasion that mine failed I was unable to reset with a magnetic nor was the repair shop successful in reseting.. On the first three repair the shops only replaced the circuit boards an they continued to fail. On the last occasion they also replaced the thermal coupler.

Beautiful job, how did you cover the engine dog house in the bedroom? Is the flooring an engineered wood or laminate? Thanks Jim

Ray, I had 5 of the recalls installed by four different authorizes repair facilities in Wa state. I finally gave up and installed the same Samsung that was mentioned in previous response. All repair facilities have told me that the recall parts are not stocked and only sent to shops upon determining that they have failed. I have the same issues with my DW's health, have a safe trip.

To be safe I would chase this lead to determine if it goes to ground or to the + (positive) to the coach load. Jim

You should be able to disconnect the linkage from the motor to allow access to the motor. Jim

Old trick to clean contacts in protective relay in power plants is to us a new clean dollar bill and while holding contacts closed pull dollar bill through contacts. May have to fold dollar bill. Jim

Did you have any load on the inverter when you tested? Might test it with a 500 watt heater as load and see what you get. Jim

I took a 2" thick piece of foil faced Styrofoam and attached Velcro strips. I install when RV need heating, otherwise I remove it. I blocked the ceiling vent with same material and leave in place. Jim

If your inverter is a modified sine wave inverter and you are using a digital volt meter you make getting a incorrect reading. When reading AC voltages you can get incorrect reading if you don't have a true sine wave. Jim

The display also indicated that the inverter is on, unless the inverter light was flashing and you just captured the photo when it was lite. Jim
