  1. I think another good ladder is called little giant. That thing can replace so many ladders that it should have a cheat sheet to go with it. http://www.samsclub.com/sams/alta-one-m17-multi-use-ladder/prod18983489.ip?pid=_CSE_Google_PLA_Ladders_&_Stepstools&source=ifpla&CAWELAID=730010300000544649&adid=22222222627000033615&veh=sem
  2. I'm 4 years into a loan with the Bank of The West and there is problems with a loan if you want to trade later. I found out that the motorhome depreciate faster than the loan principal. As it can retail for more than I owe, trade in value is $21,000 less than I owe. The dealer upped the offer so I only lose $14,000 since my coach is in such nice shape but not worth the loss to me. For a dealer to look me in the eye and tell me he will sell my coach for a $30,000 profit for the dealership is unbelievable. This is all backed by NADA. The problem is financing 15 or 20 years you will find the loan upside down like mine is. In my case I took a 15 year loan with $20,000 down and this what happens if you need to past the coach on. We didn't think we would need to get rid of it as we always thought we be healthy enough to use till the term is over. This is something else to think about if you get a loan.
  3. Thanks Joe and with this thread I would say I no longer use Fram filters for many years. I'm not going to say why but instead I put my flame suit on. When I was working fleet it took awhile to get them to stop using Fram filters or knock off generic filters. I had to wear my flame suit then also as government agency will say low bid.
  4. On my coach radio I have to adjust the fader control and it can shut of 2 of six speakers. That will be the rear most speakers in the bedroom.
  5. Don't forget the lights and other electrical needs.
  6. I faxed an ad to FMCA magazine 45 days ago and two issues later my ad is not in it. I wonder what happen as I am playing by the rules and not giving the same opportunity as others. Thanks for the membership.
  7. I think that it would be best to get a bigger deck plate installed offset to the current hole and tee and make your own critter guard.
  8. Joe on my HR it don't appear to line up until you swivel it up or down. I take the cap off then push the big tee connector down to line up with the hole, hose goes right through. When I disconnect I pull up on the big tee connector and screw in the floor cap.
  9. I'm glad I don't have one of them new fangle dangle newer diesel with all the EPA stuff on it. My coach don't even have a EGR on it. Love it!
  10. This is how your coach should be leak tested. See link below.
  11. There you are Rich. I haven't seen you online in a while. I hope you are doing well.
  12. Yes I'm retired with a couple of pension but no SS yet. I hold off that until I'm 67 if it's still there. I open my own shop going on six years fixing cars and light trucks only. Since I live on a island I don't stay too busy.
  13. Yes I'm retired from a county fleet doing everything from earthmovers to weed wackers. Then tractors, lowboys, police and ambulance. Then we have all the special executive cars and lower employees cars and light trucks. Yes I was a jack of all trades and no master so I read instruction. There was many around me that wouldn't bother. I don't know what happen to your unit but mine appears to be working as just fumes from a wash can trip it.
  14. If the red light was flashing it means the power should of been off if hooked up correctly.
  15. Oh nooo the insulation is cut open and sensor is hose clamped directly to the heater elements. Then the insulation is tie wrapped closed. If someone installed the Norcold recall on your coach like that he needs to be fired. I stand by my comment that the Norcold is better as it detect the problem at the source and requires inspection before resetting it. Auto reset can cause a fire as the problem could be present.
  16. WD40 = Water Displacement 40 trys.
  17. I talked to that guy at a rally from Absorption Refrigeration Protection Control. He claims the 2 heating elements overheat and cracks the metal which causes the leak. He had a sample he showed me. Norcold put a box with a temperature probe on the heating elements to trip if the elements overheat. His design puts the temperature probe above the heating elements which my opinion is too late to prevent the crack. Norcold has to be reset with a magnet as they want customers to have the unit inspected if it overheats. His design reset automatically regardless of the reason of the trip. The bottom line is, if you decide to get this different mouse trap installed, please do not disconnect the Norcold protection unit.
  18. Mwilson, It sounds like water valve if clean water. If not clean water it may be the base gasket or worst if brand new motorhome. Well anyway it must be fixed soon or you will face replacing the floor. Seals and water valve should be available at any good RV or boat place.
  19. I had the portable in the RV and the larger one at home. I won't grill on anything else. I try to use the 20 amp or 30 amp outlet on the campground outlet instead of the coach.

    Oil

Walmart is $12.97 a gallon - $5.00 is $7.97. Free shipping for 6 gallons since it will be over $50.00. I wonder if you have to get a separate receipts for each gallons or only get a rebate for one gallon per household? Almost sounds too good to be true to me. http://www.walmart.com/ip/14958327?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222227009452554&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=40839554912&wl4=&wl5=pla&wl6=52987236446&veh=sem
  21. I'm a diabetic also and was using artificial sweetener. Now I find out that is bad for you and trying a more natural approach. Can't win for losing.
  22. I had some of that cake twice because I didn't learn the first time. But what would we do without DW?
  23. I see a lot are using electric so the question isn't it more expensive to use the electric heat as instead of propane or diesel. One example I can give is I found that since I had to pay for electric per month, it was cheaper to run the fridge on propane instead of electric. Cut my electric bill more than half doing that.
  24. No Aqua Hot in my coach and the only ceramic we bring along is the built in one in the basement. The noise from the heat pump don't bother me but it does my wife. For that reason I'm not allow to run it and the same is true for the A/C unless it's a scorcher outside.
