  1. I would tilt the fuse panel and see if it lost the connection going out from it since you have no power at the switch.
  2. I took to glass shop for the windshield to be resealed on Friday. I pointed out the streak mark on the inside and where it came from but the mechanic couldn't find out why it leaked. He resealed across the top of the area of the leak so I have to hope for the best. I ordered 2 access hatches from etrailer for less than $10 each that looks a little better designed.
  3. The only time I have trouble with the mod is when the coach is hit with a pressure washer. I take a strong magnet on a stick to reset the mod box.
  4. My same system front jack did the same thing as yours about the 6th of this month. Had to loosen the line and jack and crowbar back up. I was told by emergency service it needs jack replacement. I have a service plan that covers it except for $200 and shipping of part. Sounds like you have same problem.
  5. The access hatch on mine is loose and the bottom is wide open with no protection of water getting in. That outlet is about the same height as yours but has no weather cover that I would like to look in to. Time to replace them with better design. The seal is much as you said the windshield shifted but at least the seal didn't come loose from the fiberglass. Not a bad leak as it just ran a bead of water inside the windshield only when driving in heavy rain. I had no problem with it before the windshield replacement and insurance paid for it. Now if I have to replace the rubber seal down the road I guess that expense will be on me.
  6. Yes Monacoman38 that type of door stop will have a problem if the center pivot pin gets too loose. The only thing you can do is remove it and rap that pin a few times with a hammer on a vise and hope it tighten up. Then it shouldn't overextend the stop. Good luck.
  7. I sprayed all outside electrical outlets with Sea Foam Deep Creep. Includes front right side compartment tv/bbq, left side ice maker, refrigerator AC heating element and vacuum cleaner. Problem solved! Rich, there are a couple possible areas of concern. There is a round flip access hatch on the floor in the compartment that flips up for cords to go through and a U shaped slide for the cord so the larger round part can be put down. I have another one of those in the plumbing compartment for the water hose. Otherwise I have screw down caps for the 50 amp shore line and sewage dump hose. The screw type are not the problem but the flip up one are if you are traveling and get caught in a storm. They have either flipped up or u shape slid back and need to be replaced with better design. This look a little better than what I have but not by much. http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/electrical-cable-hatch-white/66682 I talked to the glass shop today and have an appointment for Friday 9 am to reseal the windshield. The windshield pops into rubber and it is there that it leaks at upper right corner. The glass shop says that the windshield settles or slides down when first driven for such a big one piece assembly. Resealing the top should take care of it and I'm able to wait for it.
  8. Expect lots of snow there this time of year, less snow after May.
  9. I hope to set up a windshield reseal as I wait. The glass shop is 30 minutes away. The electrical outlet is inside the storage area but has a flip up access for a cord as well as cable for tv. Somehow the back wall and that outlet is damp and I have to blame the flip up access but have to verified by unloading some stuff. I hope that is the only problem with it.
  10. I recommend a dash cam not a go pro because of the data on dash cam. GPS mapping, speed, shock sensor to name a few. The police have a way to get their data also. Someone rear ended my step daughter while she was driving on the interstate. The police person took a reading from data link of my stepdaughters car and the driver who rear ended her. He found that she was going 57 mph near the speed limit and the other guy going 85 MPH.
  11. We left Seven Feathers RV park and I thought we get home today with no more problems. Well we stopped for lunch at a rest area in Washington and went to use the electric can opener and no electricity. Found the ground fault tripped in the bathroom with nothing plugged in of any of the outlets. I found one outlet damp in the basement. It seems like the cord access in the bottom of the cargo area has seeped some road spray since it's raining and maybe that is shorted. I haven't the time to check it so so open the cans manually so we can nuke lunch and be on our way. We get about 100 miles from home and I notice water beads running on the inside or the windshield. Oh great I thought even a new windshield that we had put in after our Alaskan trip last summer didn't hold up. When we reach the last rest stop to dump our tanks I took the flashlight and verified that it water is coming in between the rubber and the glass. Hopefully that repair will be covered by the installer of the windshield. We are home now and I'm sure glad this vacation is over.
  12. We finally got away from the cold weather as we are near LA at a KOA. No additional problems but we aren't home yet with a few days to go.
  13. Now that we are at New Orleans it looks like the cold weather is following us. When we leave tomorrow morning it will be about 28 degrees and record for here. We had a great time today with 72 degree weather and going west and hope to get away from the cold. Hmmmm lottery tickets, haven't thought about making a donation to it.
  14. My coach had it under the dinette seat. The only way to see it was remove the cushion and the plywood bottom and look near the wall.
  15. Got emergency service and found the front jack is shot. The mechanic can only loosen the line and pry the jack up and between the line and seal lost a gallon of fluid on the ground. At least we left Birmingham and now at we are at New Orleans. The replacement won't be replaced until we make it home whenever that will be. We are tired of the trouble we have so far and appreciate the support from the few so far so thank you.
  16. Since last post from Wilmington, NC, we went to Abingdon, MD and Bear DE. All worked out OK but we cut it short up north when we heard a storm coming the north east area. We went to Ft Chiswell, VA and found the replacement basement heater worked by keeping the water flowing with outside temperature at 12 degrees. Then we went to Pelham, AL and set up the jacks on a campsite that sloped to the front and right. The jacks didn't seem to go up level as it seem to be leaning left so I decided to raise the jacks and try again. When I press the button to bring the jacks up instead of going up smooth it bounce the coach several times as it appeared to go up. The next time I push auto level nothing happen. I got out and looked under the coach and noticed that the front jack was down and the rears were up. I pressed the button for the all jacks to raise again and the front one stayed down. I got a flashlight and look underneath and found fluid had run out up front. Now I have to wait until the morning for mobile service and dealing with extended service contract.
  17. I finally had the time to check the power gear jacks fluid level. I found there was wires coming out of the top of the reservoir so must be level switch that may think jacks are down if reading low. I topped this off and will find if this solves problem when I get into cold weather again. Another problem I tried to look at before is sometimes the rear camera will lose horizontal (twisted picture unviewable) like an on antenna tv and stay that way for awhile. I look for the rear connector to clean as I done for the side cameras but I not able to find it. I'm going to look again for driving without that camera working is not what I want to do when towing a toad.
  18. Jack, You have a Holiday Rambler like I do and that is the way it's supposed to work. Sometime you will be lucky to see it on but I had seen it and it works. There is an thermostat inside the heater that turns it on at freezing and back off at about 40 degrees. It's states so in my owners manual. There is a third wire that sends a ground to the active light when it's running.
  19. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to you and your family also.
  20. The 12 volt heater don't heat the whole basement but the compartment area of the plumbing only. It is a 25 amp heater with a fan that only comes on when below freezing providing that you have the system heat switch turn on. My 12 volt heater failed because the heating element quit heating but the fan still working. Yes it still works while driving to keep the plumbing running. I now have a new unit installed from the factory.
  21. Got the alternator replaced on the toad a few days ago and working good so far. Must of been ready to go for awhile because since been starting faster than it did in a long time. It's a Jeep liberty diesel so battery must be fully charged or hard to start. Tomorrow morning we head to our next stop Wilmington, NC
  22. See my post "misadventure so far" as my basement heat failed in the middle of the night in ID at 8 degrees. Ours coach has a 12 volt electric heater in the basement water plumbing area to prevent freezing. The heating element quit working and only blew cold air. It worked before we left home so you never know. Lucky we had no damage but was without water until we got near Las Vegas. You have to have a heater in the water compartment or water will freeze. We had both house heaters on and did no good overnight when that basement heater failed.
  23. Made it to Charlotte, NC and got the part installed and couple of other minor repairs done and caught up. Got the motorhome washed and tires shined and looking good. Go out in the toad tonight and it broke down as an apparent alternator quit charging. I hope this is the last of it.
  24. Great news, we made it to Graceland RV Park and Resort with no issue except an occasion alarm from the power gear jacks over bumps. I'm beginning to think fluid level because jacks down light is normally off. I won't have time to look at it until I reach North Carolina. No problem the system otherwise function good. We are here for two days.
  25. We got to Arlington / Dallas KOA yesterday afternoon and when we got close we see lots of cars and small trucks in the ditch, some of them backwards. Needless to say the toad needs a bath before it could be used.
