Roland, that's a nice park and area! Little far to walk to the Quarters, but that's not the only game in town! A lot of good things to eat and do in the rest of "the Big Easy"! I don't do the Quarters any more, I like non tourist eats and clubs!

I think the OP knows that, but he's not buying a "Vehicle", he's looking for a coach!
-
On a new coach, yes. Used coach, not really. Think of it as a used car, everything is negotiable. That's why you want to compare price at various locations, if you find a make & model & year, that you want to look for...check it out first at NADA, it will give Low & High Wholesale and Low/high retail...then you will know if the dealer is trying to cheat you! I do recommend you buy, thru a RV Dealer and that you get a independent mechanic to look at coach...don't take the dealer or salesman/woman's word for anything! Get everything in writing...your spending a lot of your money! None of them are your friend, you drive out, they stop knowing you! We will try to answer any questions you ask, but it's hard to recommend one dealer over another...too many in 50 States! Yes, there are coaches in both Alaska & Hawaii.

Do You Have A Motorcycle With You While RV'ing?
manholt replied to redandsilver's topic in General Discussion
Sorry for your loss, you have my sympathy! Too each his own! I drove a DP for 27 years, by myself, towing a Silverado 4 x 4 Duramax for 8 years, with a Trike in the bed, and had no problem unhitching or hitching up! 2 Chevy Colorado's and 3, Jeep Wrangler's! They make electric bike, rail stands that goes right into p/u beds, then you can learn to hook up truck, no big deal and take everything with you. Before I came along, my fiance Linda, was traveling in her 40 foot DP with a Ford Expedition as a toad...if a 70 year old woman (64-70) can do it...so should you! -
We have 10, 5 gal. gas tanks and 5, 5 gal diesel cans at ranch...some vented, some not. Gas station is 3 miles away and we leave ours stored in a pole barn. Even in Texas Summer heat, Linda has had no problems, since she built the house in 1982/83! Gas cans are RED, Diesel is YELLOW! Carry a can of either, in any size, in coach or jeep? No way!

Rich. I have NAPA & no problems with 10 of them in 2 years now! Told them I wanted fresh, they where 3 days old when installed...8, 6v and 2, 12v

RV Trader, Motorhome of Texas, PPL, RV USA...look on web, their all good choices! Any coach before 2007, should have a 2006 chassis and price depends on Make, Model, Length..mileage is not important on a diesel, unless it's above 400,000 or less than 5,000 a year!

BUILDING RV PAD / TEXAS HILL COUNTRY
manholt replied to eric@babin.com's topic in General Discussion
When I remodeled my house in 1986, in the Hill Country, I used 20 gage metal...that was one expensive 5,400 sq. ft. roof. -
Ahh! Only the Shadow knows and he/she is not talking!

dalemalloy. Welcome to the Forum!🎄 Yes, that works well. Just depends on size of inverter and batteries! Would help if we knew the make and model of your coach! Happy trails

ACTIVE where? Forum or total FMCA membership? If your a member of a Chapter, contact your Area Sr. VP, he/she gets that info daily! No further discussion needed. Unfortunately, not every member is involved with a chapter, nor are they members of this Forum! Don't forget that membership in FMCA, is not just for RV owners, there are also C#'s= Commercial, retired F or L# that renewed or was issued with a S, D, GS, GD. That's all counted ! Carl C.

As mentioned, US Highways and Interstate Freeways are safe! Any other road is suspect & local knowledge! Think this post has run it's course!

Sprint hot spot slowing down
manholt replied to Blackbear8340's topic in RV Internet to Go/Staying in Touch
Blackbear, welcome! Have not had Sprint myself, but heard that it works good in certain areas, mostly Chicago/Gary! Where are you located? -
4 TV's? I got 3 and that's just boarder line, overkill. Once a month, Linda will watch her taped series in bedroom, rest of the time we catch some news on front TV and very seldom outside for College Football or Golf. When outside, we get others that want to watch their team play...we are not rude, but others are! So, we watch inside! IMHO. if we ever want to boondock more than one night, we would get a trailer or a tent. I know, some people want to do that in a coach, just not us..I did all my interaction with nature, when I was a Boy Scout and Explorer! My coach is all electric, because that's what I wanted. Our (Linda & I) New to us coach will be the same....she loves to travel with the comfort of home, be it by RV, cruise or flying! She's happy/I'm happy!

That, Herman is the same way you and I got Masons to become Shriners...You GOT TO ASK and follow up! Same in LCIF and BPOE. 😎

I just received a mail, regarding the number of members, it should be listed as 77,000+...he gets updates daily. Said he would look into it after the office opens 1/02/2019 and get it done on Forum as Governance! I'm on AC Forum for same reason as Jim S.
