Yes, I also see them, but mostly from the North to South on 281. Have a friend who modifies or builds them from frame up...all are on trailer, because their not street legal...client's from all over the World. He's up testing every month for 4 days! They all leave in one piece!
  2. No, mine would if I had an Eaglet ! I even found that my solar power was not hooked up, not that it matters, it was installed for the genny battery!

Yes, many times since I moved part time to Linda's place in Burnet, 21 mile drive! Got a dozen+ friends from Houston Area that come up a couple of times a month. All they do is the Blue Trails...been on one, one time & almost lost it. Now that I have a set off 35" tires and 100% articulation, I'll try it again in 2 weeks! Bill. Some do, some don't....I understand.
  4. Well, according to Herman Mullins, the Fat Lady sang...70% Yes and 30% No. Our future is no longer Family MOTOR COACH Association! Thank you to those of you that voted. No comment to those that did not !
  5. I know, contract issues...it's obscene how much $$$ the Factory & Dealer makes! Look at MHS in Alvarado, they discount from 25% to 45% depending on Brand ! 2 years ago, when REV moved in across the Hwy. MHS took in all the AC coaches that Acira had...called me and gave me a offer on a 2015 Tradition at 45% off MSRP (Factory)!
  6. House batteries will be fine as long as you look at water level if acid type. Depending on how it's wired, you may or maynot have to put a trickle charger on engine start batteries! Good Luck & Merry Christmas!

To each, their own! I'm just trying not to look forward too the day I got to give it up!
  8. Jim. You can buy direct from Newmar, go to factory and tell them what you want...they list their suggested MSRP on the web. You can have it built, interior colors, wood and more, Exterior design and paint colors, other than what's offered in catalogue...get a total MSRP, then negotiate with a dealer....We have a member of River City Travelers who did it that way and the Dutch Star will be ready for PU at factory in Feb., he got the best deal thru a dealer that's 35 miles from Factory and recommended by Newmar...as soon as he said yes, Newmar call and gave a heads up to dealer. You can also, have the coach delivered pre painted and taken to a Custom Paint Shop in Bremen (8 miles from Newmar) and they do some unbelievable paint jobs....we toured that place before Indy! They had a booth in Indy..cost $18K- $40K.
  9. You are the owner of this coach, right? How long have you had it?
  10. Kay. Me thinks there is confusion on OP's part. I read it the same as you! Had to do that on a 2009 Jeep Wrangler!

Bill. Yes! I base that upon the thought that you don't (or can't) go extreme 4 wheeling as I do! I don't foresee my Wrangler lasting 117,000 miles... I have never seen a Liberty in the Lizard Pass Mountain range in Colorado or the back country of Moab, Utah.
  12. Don. It's OK. The Vote is now over! Now, we sit and wait, for "the Fat Lady to Sing"! I wonder what the future will bring? All "Snail Mail" ballots, should be in by the 6th and counted by the 15th! If it's YES, that is by no means the end of the process....Lots of people on this Forum will say (and they know better) that it is! If it's NO, then it's a dead issue and FMCA has spent a lot of $$$$ for nothing!
  13. Depends, a loud bang in the morning=Linda is hunting Armadillo, that will get your attention at 4 am! Knocking on the door, is a lot more interesting!
  14. Both of my Magnum 2800's charges only my 8 house batteries. Have a trickle charger on my Engine batteries (2- 12Volt). All are AGM's. I did leave the coach inverter on and had no problems for 3 years...that was in a garage with 20A, 120V electric! Now, I'm on 50A all the time, even if the electric goes off, then the 22KW generator back up system comes on.
  15. Richard. Your right about cars sitting and not getting exercised enough. As Jay Leno said. "I take a different car out once a week"! With his massive collection, I presume he has a lot of employees doing the same! Cars, Motor Homes, Boats and houses, have the same thing in common...if you don't use them often enough, you'll lose them!
  16. Well, it did prove that if one is on the losing side of that, you start claiming your the inventor of all kinds of BS, like the internet. Did he really think that would make the chads go away? Leary. Great thinking! Been almost a year now, I forgot all about the Snowflakes and the PC thing!
  17. FIVE. Read my post...word for word in ref to coaches of 40' with tag...I know of 2, Newmar and Foretravel is the other! So, you don't misunderstand, Foretravel has 3 lines of coaches they make! There is one other, but I generally don't include it, due to $$$$, that is Newell...38 foot to 47 foot with steering Tag!
  18. Jim. Have you measured your coach? take a tape from outside bow to stern....bet your over 45 foot. Mine is a 45 foot chassis = 46 foot 4 inches! They go by length of chassis not including end and front cap! I drove a Dutch Star and a King Air last year, very impressed with ride on the K2 & K3 chassis....I have the K2 now. A friend keeps telling me that the new Freightliner/Daimler chassis is a 100% better than what I had in 2007 ! I'm skeptical about that, so no, I have not driven the Ventana yet! I'm never going back to a single rear axle again....Tag makes your road trip so much more relaxing and comfortable! I only know of 2 manufacturer's that offer the Tag on 40 foot. Dutch Star did a 38 foot Tag in 2015, don't know why they stopped!
  19. You also have an escape door in bathroom...LOVE that ! Why risk breaking a or several bones, jumping or slithering out an inadequate escape window...when you can have door?

As long as your not off roading, like me...you got the right idea! I never rotate my tires, but I do have my alignment checked every year. I have my front/rear differential checked for water each month that I have been off road, especially after fording streams and puddles, snow and slush! Air filter replaced every 4 month's! Lube every 4 months! Oil change every 3,000 miles! My Jeep has more towed miles than driven.
  21. Jim. My Linda want's the 40 foot Ventana, also with tag. I want one also...guess we will be a 2 Ventana family in sin! She want's a bath and half. I don't, not in a 40!
  22. FUNTIMEBIZ. Welcome to the Forum! I'm confused. Your sailing out of NYC, but why would you want to park your coach at any of the airports? Your flying back...I get that. Are you flying back from England? I suggest you find a RV Resort or KOA in New Jersey or PA. There are busses from the NY air ports. A cab from New Jersey to somewhere NJ or PA is your best bet. Now, if you want to replace your coach and toad, by all means, pick any one of the Airports. I have 17 trips on Cunard, from NYC-South Hampton & the reverse. Your other option is to leave your coach in a RV Park and take your toad to the Airport...I would fly in to Newark! I left my coach in a RV Park in Indiana, for 16 days, July 14 and drove the Jeep to Chicago O'Hare Airport (2 hr drive)! While we where in Scandinavia.
