Tom. That's a beautiful thing, quite a long time since I have seen a McLaren on/off a drag strip! Thanks for sharing. I had to give up on the APBA and IPBA in 2000, it was doing a thing to my kidneys...ran a open class 47 foot Skater, with twin 1,000hps. Also ran a 32 foot Scarab, with twin 502's stock.

If you have jacks, use them to take some of the load off your bags and tires. Otherwise it's normal.

Brett. We where humming along quite nicely until sometime yesterday! Sorry, guess we just sort off, fell of the cliff. It was the "Twins" fault !
-
Dealers are mostly all greedy! They jack the $$$ up, I don't care if it's a pedal bike or a Newmar King Air. Think of it as a game, your not suppose to know what the actual dealer cost is or the actual manufacturing cost. By going on a factory tour and then ordering from the factory, they will contact a dealer and tell them what your paying...now, at that point you can take delivery at the factory! That will piss the dealer off because he can't put all the add ones, on. Like delivery charge and undercoating (it already has that and there is no delivery charge). The PDI is done at the factory! You can even go watch "Your" coach being built. MSRP is just a number...pick one!

The twins, strike again! Please, someone, close the gate to the asylum...

Yea, that sort of goes for the rest also...you got to have installed sensors to receive accurate information. Like a Jet, you won't get much feed back, by just throwing a chip and a computer at it. There is absolutely no correlation between a Jet Plane, race car and a DP coach...yes, they burn fuel, ride on rubber (Jet part time) and go forward.

Price gouging is alive and well in Texas...HEB is $2.499 across the state for Diesel and $2.549 for regular. Linda sent a mailing on them and Strips to Austin on Tuesday!

Lyle. When you see a Dealer MSRP, Google the Manufacturer and look at their MSRP, it's generally lower than the Dealer, the subtract 30% and you'll be in the ball park! 2017, or 18. A new 2016, I would figure 40% off Dealer MSRP or more.

That works both ways for them!

Herman, look up, you have a almost double reply and on mine, the locations are in apprentices, I did not do that...Careful it's 1984!
-
Herman is correct, it was Puff and Herman is correct on the rest, also! Another miss by Wayne! Jim. The OP has been a member since 2008, weird, I thought this started in 2009!?

Have them on mine, 2 years now!

Issues Towing a 24' - 28' Enclosed Trailer
manholt replied to ispjs's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
You will find that a stacker is much more stable and easier to drive and turn with. I had one, when I was the hauler of all the toys for El Mina Shrine, for parades and competition. I donated mine to the Temple. I found a used one for $9,300 and used it for 7 years, behind 2 DP's. Some States and one Canadian Territory that I know about, it's 55 foot. General rule is 65 and know of no one that has had a problem... -
Took 98.47 gal at a Chevron Truck stop Tuesday, outside North Austin, TX. 2 blocks from Pilot and Loves, both where $2.499 a gal. I paid $2.249 a gal. Lone Star had the 50th Anniversary Rally, at Durant KOA, OK. Diesel was $2.229 - $2.299, until we got to Paris, TX. then it jumped to $2.499 +, that's more expensive than Houston, TX. 3 weeks ago! Yes, gas buddy is your friend!!!
-
Yea. Better chance at Summer Rally (Gillette, WY) than Winter (Perry, GA), but you never know and we will have some Seminars in Perry that will give you more in-depth information, than we can do on Forum!

Oh. Duh! My bad, it was late and my humming bird brain was on default..

jimnorman. Pacific5. Welcome to the Forum! Not much to add, your right..

I did not know there is a truckers atlas...where does one get that? As far as the OP is concerned, he specifically asked about a NEW GPS, Garmin or Rand Mc Nally! I guess he want's to spend the bucks!

Tires Parked For Months On Cement? Is There A Problem?
manholt replied to FreightLinerFever's topic in Tires
There is a reason I live in Texas! Never met anyone that goes to -39 degrees after retirement. Remove the battery? Did not know that Freightliner made a "Smart Car"! -

Good Luck Mike, I'll look for you at 6 State. -
Studebrucer. Welcome to the Forum! Depending upon how mechanical handy you are, a DP may not be the best fit. They will outlast a gas coach in most circumstances, but they cost more to buy and maintain. If your on a tight budget and you can't do most of the maintenance, like changing oil, filters, air dryers, hydraulic fluids, batteries etc. It's going to run you about a thousand + a year. Tires are bigger, therefore more expensive, Diesel cost as much or more than regular unleaded and miles per gallon is a lot less with a 36 foot DP vs a 36 foot gasser. DP's need to be driven more than gas. A DP older than 15 years is, or can, cost a bunch after you buy it...it depends on how the owner/owners before you drove it and maintained it...Low mileage on a DP is not what you want to see!

As has been said over and over again...towables is not going to change any thing! I would love to hear from the EB and the past executives who started all of this, "What where/are you thinking"? Do we really have all those things your talking about? sip & paint, pop top lanyard, paint a tile, sock puppets? If not, then what funny farm do you work at?
-
I would love to see how you "ride in a Harley"!
-
Wish they would fix it, it's a lot better and shorter road going via Marfa...crazy Mexican drivers, other than that, OK. Took my Allegro Bus that way, then back almost to Marfa (cut thru a ranch to 118) then back to Lajitas...looong day!

Neutral Reversed Warning Light On Protecter
manholt replied to michaelhillhouse's topic in Electrical
Like Brett. I'm totally confused. You plugged the coach into a designated 30A in garage or 10, 20A? I'm suspecting that you tripped a Circuit Breaker in house or coach. Have you checked? It could also be that your battery charger is set at more than 5A and tripping house CB when your Fridge kicks in along with something else that is on. In my old garage, I had a 20A outlet and it was fine for charging my batteries and running Fridge...as long as I remembered to adjust my charger to 5A, otherwise it would trip the garage CB. Now I'm on a designated 50A at the house.
