Isaaac. When you get to Texarkana, look me up....I'm Captain for Golf, so I'll be parked in Volunteer section. My overbuilt Jeep (Red) Wrangler will be by coach. BillA. That's exactly what FMCA was! Then we had to have a big building, etc! It goes that way for all Fraternal Organizations also ! $$$$ and we need more $$$

Mine is an ISL 425hp Cummins and 3000 Allison, I can add 50-60 more hp per Cummins and Allison. That does not affect my torque, it would still be 1250. Anything more than that, I might as well get a 500hp+ coach...changing the gearing of a Allison is a lot of $$$$ ! 2012 or 13, 450 Cummins on DEF= a 9 to 12% loss in net HP, per Cummins...how then does he get a 70+ Torque...since the 400 series = 1250?

Issues Towing a 24' - 28' Enclosed Trailer
manholt replied to ispjs's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Update. Never mind the coach info...got it on your other post. Trailer...get a 14' or 16' Featherlight Stacker, your bike goes on top and cooper on bottom. Still leaves room for extras. Easy to tow! Trike, mine is a 2006 Classic Cruiser Ultra, 96cu, 6 forward no reverse, rear end was done in Troup, TX. Had I known that HD had acquired Leland and was building their own, I and about 50 other Shriners in Texas, would have waited. Yes, we did let HD know how we felt....We are now, a big fan of Honda and Kawasaki & get a big discount, plus they don't over heat. -
Hoggem. Welcome to the Forum! Per Herman, it leads us back to where are your starting from and are we talking about a week, 10 days, over New Year? If your in a Northern State and have a week...fly to Hawaii !

I made a posting on the take over by a holding company that is owned by Marcos, at the same time we had the very interesting Posts by Tom B. on BIO Fuel. I totally agree about your fuel cost statement. Human Nature, we spend a thousand to save a dime!

Tires Parked For Months On Cement? Is There A Problem?
manholt replied to FreightLinerFever's topic in Tires
Floor on our current garage is gravel, so we both use marine grade plywood. My past garage was cement and I used cardboard...the rest as Tom mentioned. The age of life is still 6 - 8 years, depending upon the weight off coach and exposure to UV light. -
Flying J/Pilot is owned by our dear friend...Marcus! I do not go there!

Grass = 50A, water and dump. It's hard packed and only a few places will puddle in a hard rain. I prefer it by the fence! Generator or 30A = no dump or water and the lines to dump can be grueling, Some might still be in line from last year!

Lucky you..2 out of 3 is not bad. I just got Nam! Thank you for the blank check! I'm in here somewhere..

Electronic Toll Collection Information
manholt replied to tireman9's question in Destinations/Attractions
BillA. I don't see where your going to burn $147 or even close to $47 in 90 minutes! Joe. That's the main reason I shun toll roads outside of Texas! The only "Free" thing I got from the Feds, was a hair cut (if you can call bald a hc) and a set of green clothing with ill fitting booths! -
Keon. Hello again! Have not heard from you in some time...guess your "hot rod rig" is running trouble free! Isaaac1. I'm one of the old geezers! I don't feel very elite, been where your at now.. When I got started with Motorhomes, I was 24 and my DW was 31! That was in 1967..FMCA offered everyone a Club that was geared to Motorhomes and we could change ideas, via Snail Mail and a annual rally! We came from all walks of life and age groups and we had one thing in common....our vacation homes on wheels, self propelled. Yes, there was chapters back then, seek and you will find, because no one in this life is going to take you by the hand and lead you! So by meeting and talking to folks, we found those that fit our life style and work. Back then I worked 14 days and had 7 off, in the 70's I worked a 8 on 8 off and lived in Europe, then my work became 28 days on and 28 off...I retired at 42 years old in 1985. Try to find a common tread, with folks who have your same interest...your work don't matter! So, what does FMCA offer? Pretty much anything you want ! Same applies to Good Sam and Escapees...I'm a member of both! I'm a member of 5 Chapters in FMCA and 1 in Escapees and I'm not going to say to anyone, "please come and join us"! That's up to you...I know nothing about what you or what your looking for, I only know that there are probably 4 dozen + entries in this tread, from 40/50 year olds, that don't seem to "get it"! WBill. Your probably right...you blind sided me! Thanks.

thezafts. I had all 8 tires replaced at Superior Tire in Eugene, OR. August 2014 and they where 2 tires at 5 weeks old and 6 tires at 14 weeks old. It is noted on my invoice! If I'm in OR in 2020 and this coach, I will go see Superior again! I run 315 x 80 x 22.5 on steer tires and 295 on rest. If you did not get the information...call them with your Invoice number and am sure they'll send it to you!

Jim. I can attest to that !

Rob. Welcome to the Forum! I would call WB, Tech Dept. they could refer you to a shop in your area, they would also be the place for you or the shop to order the frame for your VIN #!

Issues Towing a 24' - 28' Enclosed Trailer
manholt replied to ispjs's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
ISP JS. What year is your Classic Cruiser? Also, what make and model is your current gas coach? -
You both need to look at Motorhomes of Texas, PPL and anything North of San Antonio and West off Abilene. Texas! Sorry for your loss, Wayne! I feel blessed, my old home on Galveston Island, survived Allison and Rita. No damage! Now the new House, built 2007, survived IKE and Harvey, also with no damage! In Texas at least we have sticks & bricks on stilts, in most coastal communities....I personally feel that "floating foundations", should be mandatory in all coastal towns Nation wide and Tornado Alley!

Electronic Toll Collection Information
manholt replied to tireman9's question in Destinations/Attractions
Tom. Nice thought, but good luck with that ! Outside of Texas, I try to shy away from Toll Roads....I'm out there to see the countryside and enjoy the journey, from point A to B and if it takes me to C, D, before B, so be it....if I want a fast, direct way...I'll fly! I don't understand, when I read comments about an extra day and a tank full of fuel on the NE Coast...have the States gotten bigger or are you just getting 3.5 miles to the gallon? Besides, if you can't see it all, this summer, then return next year. -
Keon. glad it works for you! Give my regards to Joe..

I'm confused again! What does the GW and John have to do with any answer to OP? Does "John" have the same make, year, model of coach?

As Tom Butler wrote...I can and do go to other Truck stops and get 15 to 20+ cents per gallon cheaper, than at Flying J, Pilot and Loves!
-
Jeff, he meant "there should be 2 cut of switches"! I had a 2011 Allegro Bus and mine was between the Co-Pilot seat and the wall, on the floor. It had a setting for house and another for chassis or you could turn them all off. If you have an electric connection where you store your coach and it's less than 50A, use a trickle charger for the batteries, then you don't need to disconnect anything.

UV exposure is everywhere. Heat has no bearing on that, that I know off! My tires are 315x80x22.5 Front and the other 6 are 295's, bought in August 2014. I'll replace them in 2020 or 21, I'm not full time and do an average of 13,000 a year! My best friend run custom made fifth trailers with the same size tires I have and his, last between 4&5 years, but that's due to mileage and lack of treads, not sidewalls cracking.
