  1. It's in the tube. Not that it works better. Mine was stuck out in Mexico, we ended up having to take out motor and hand roll the awning to in position, then tie off with HD electric ties. The only way to keep the awning and motor inside cover, was to cut outside motor wires...no slack. Have not been able to get it fixed yet...will have it removed completely later in CO. when all my awnings will be replaced by Zip Dee! Are electric awnings better than manual? After 45 years of having both types, I prefer manual! Takes a little longer, but at least they tolerate a little wind and rain!

    Front End Shimmy

Not a tire problem...been checked. Called Spartan and your right, it could be a variety of causes, they lean towards the air ride height as being off on tag axle. Just 1 inch is enough to cause an imbalance to the drive shaft and give a wash board effect. They did say that I was in the right shop to fix the problem (Houston Cummins). Can't go home...no beds. 6 family members flew in from Norway with me last week, 3 month stay....I'm on my way to NW for 4 months...LOL.
  3. Done it both ways and prefer to turn off engine and turn switch on, then dump switch, then jacks. Let all 4 slides out and re check level, turn switch off to stop low air beep. 2010 AMC 45' DP.
  4. My current toad is a Jeep Wrangler, prior to January it was a Chevy Colorado with camper top...have a 425 Cummins, Allison 3000, 45' 2010 AMC Tradition and average 6.4 mpg at 65mph....I let the Allison alone, start in 6 economy and only downshift on grades to maintain RPM. Perhaps that's wrong, done it on 3 DP's and am happy!

    Front End Shimmy

I have a Spartan chassis with front independent suspension, it's an AMC Tradition, 45Y, 2010. I'm currently at Cummins, Houston, TX waiting on a "fit me in slot". I was on I-10 heading west at 65mph and all of a sudden it felt as if I had a blow out on left front tire. Got off the freeway and checked on tires, no problem, same with visual underneath. Started driving and it sounded like I had picked up something and it was slapping the road. Also, at 40mph the front started to waddle like a duck, but at 35-38 it stopped. Out off several phone calls, Cummins was the only ones that would see me...every chassis truck/RV shop in Houston is on the East side of town...took me 3 hours to cover 56 miles by service roads! My biggest concern, was to loose my wheel.
  6. My thoughts and sympathy, goes out to the family who now have to deal with this terrible tragedy. May the Lord give you strength.
  7. A big Thank you to all who helped me with my stuck step last month. Turned out to be the motor and all is well now. The generator problem, turned out to be the Controller (mother board). Expensive!!!

    Air vs. Nitrogen

It still comes down to where you live and where you travel. I can't relate to -25 degree winter driving. I can however agree with Brett, since we live 30 miles apart. We have very high humidity, so high in summer that all you have to do is go outside for 5 minutes and you look like you just took a shower with your cloths on! I fill my coach tires via the onboard compressor, because I keep my coach in a garage in League City. I have thought about Nitrogen, but in the long run, I don't see a plus side. I buy new tires every 6 years, not because of tread wear, but I just don't trust the sidewall beyond that. I give the old tires to my Rancher friends, it's amazing the amount of things they use them for! I have had 17 class A's, first being a 67 Winnebago, bought in 67. Due to my profession ( oil field trash), I was not a joiner of clubs, but I bet a lot of you can relate to all "flat tires" in the mornings! A lot of blow outs back before Radial Tires, mostly in front and also mostly side wall.

    Tire Sensors

Thanks. I'll see you in Redmond.
  10. I changed out all my inside lights to LED this year. Now, I'll do the same on exterior. My side cameras are in bottom of mirror and turn lights above the camera. As for truckers, I find the same is true for RV's! Used to be, we where a friendly, courteous group of people out on the highways, was the same with truckers. Guess I just grew old, sure don't seem that way anymore!

    Tire Sensors

I pulled one. It's a Pressure Pro. Per them, I mail in my 8 and they send 8 back. My friend got the ones that you change the battery and the whole unit was cheaper than the 8 new ones will cost me. Question is: Can I use his kind of sensors and be able to program them into my existing monitor? It's a Sony that has all my other diagnostics and cameras.
  12. I have had Direct TV in my house and 4 coaches since 1997. Worked OK, only problem was when I called them, unless I got them to understand that my down load was for the RV, not home, they would change all 5 receivers. In my current RV, I have DISH....no problems with reception on all 3 satellites, even got it in "Rocky Point", Mexico, last week. It's a roof mount, Winngard Traveler. My best friend was camped next door to me, in a trailer and he got it to on a Dish portable. We both call and charges stop, when we are home. Before crossing the border, I made a 3 minute call to dish and they changed local channels (ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX) to Tucson, AZ. Zip code. Try that with Direct TV!!! Carl Christensen Galveston, TX. 2010 AMC Tradition 45Y 2013 Jeep Wrangler, toad Travel with "Lucky", the dog....she is the real owner.
  13. I got a new 2013, Jeep Wrangler, 2 months ago for toad. Jeep came with 1 year free Sirius. Downloaded and got lousy reception. I took it to dealer in Houston, TX. They fixed the problem, antenna!

    Tire Sensors

Do they have batteries? If so, how do you get at them and where do you find replacements? Never had them before. They worked fine until last week, now only 2 out of 8.
  15. Have tested all, known to me, electric connections and ground. This is on a 2010 AMC Tradition, 45Y. They are stuck in the closed position. CC in Texas F342963
