  1. I have yet to have a computer that gives accurate mileage per gallon. The old fashion way still works, miles divided by gallons. I have a 150 gallon tank and stop for fuel around 600 miles, it will take 70 to 80 gallons depending on conditions. Mine is a 100% electric coach, on hot drives I use the generator. I use the truck lanes and put in 50 on medium fill, then set it at slow, I never walk away from pump! Most will click off when foam appears, don't count on it. As per Wolfe, it will expand! Carl
  2. If any of our members are in the Reno, NV. area, I highly recommend Sparks Marina RV Park, (on edit, see correction below) Exit 19 on I-80 in Sparks, NV. it's 10 min to most casinos. The park is all paved with cement pads and astro turf patios. 175 pull thru's and 100 back ins, all amenities you would expect. 4 dog runs. All spaces will take "Big Rigs", 50amp and 30amp at all spaces. I came in the 3rd and leaving the 5th. Carl C. Co Pilot, Lucky dog AMC Tradition 45' Toad = Wrangler
  3. I just spent 2 months in Dolores, CO. and have been up/down 550 in my Jeep Wrangler. I have not even thought about doing it in my 45' coach! I will leave that trill to the younger folks. There are too many side roads to take and I have done most of them in the toad...that's why I'm in that area every year. Where I go, the sheep don't follow! I forgot, you don't want to be on that road in a storm. Carl C. My dog Lucky AMC Tradition 45' Toad = Wrangler
  4. LOL, Rich. All I know, is that any MH, gas or DP makes for a very expensive guest house. Even a car needs to move, just to exercise all the parts. My log, tells me that I avg. $ 1.44 per mile and that's on a 45' DP and I avg. 13, 651 miles per year....depreciation is hard to avg. too many variables, including inflation. Carl
  5. Sorry, wrong wording, I was half asleep. Brett, Jim, Herman...I'm Texan by choice, same with American and US Military! Carl
  6. Thank you Medico and Tmoning. You're both right. When fuel was less than a dollar a gallon, FMCA had a lot more coaches show up at conventions and area rallies. As far as age is concerned, I don't see any difference now than 30 or 40 years ago. There are more people now, so maybe some of you see more young RV owners. I also, belong to SKP and am a charter life member of GS. GS had a large convention in Phoenix, AZ in 2012 that I attended and found it to be about the same as one of ours. Personally I don't need or want 8,000 RV's attending a convention! As far as INTO is concerned, I have a lot of friends from Norway, Sweden, Germany, Australia and Canada that are members of INTO chapters...where else would you put them? I'm with Swinging Golfers INTO...a great addition to FMCA and anybody that are FMCA members, world wide, can belong. Carl C. National Director
  7. Nice to know that someone, besides me, had kitchen in house built for comfort...I'm 6' 8" and the only problem is re-sale of house. I don't suppose you would be interested in a 2,300 sq. ft. home on Galveston Isle? I love my residential fridge. Problem is, so does the wife of fellow campers that don't have one! I'm the "Carl, can you keep...for a couple of days"? LOL Carl
  8. I have never had a fluid problem, so thanks, I'm learning! In all the years that I have had HWH, prior to current system, it was a Mother Board on a 07' Winnebago Tour 40K and a faulty relay switch on a 2011 Allegro Bus...both was covered on warranty, but in order to fix the switch problem, you have to replace the whole leg! I was stuck in Ocala, FL for 4 days, starting the afternoon of day off delivery on new coach. Carl
  9. Ref. HWH, call any Cummins Service Dept. They are the USA service dealer.
  10. Try Herman's approach. How many hours on generator and when did it have a complete service?
  11. Think we got it fixed. Per Customer Service at AMC, I have a 12VDC and a 15amp fuse was used by mistake, fancy that, I changed it out for a 20amp and now have a nice bright green light and it flushes per Dometic specs! Hope this is, THE END ! Time to move on and clean my golf clubs...lol
  12. Thanks, so I found out. Have another Q. Per Dometic, RV is on a 12VDC, with a 20amp fuse. Marine is 24VDC with a 15amp fuse. Now since AMC changed everything else, is it possible that they used 2, 12V batteries, since I have a 15amp fuse in line? How do I find out if they goofed again? Macerator could be clogged. Carl.
  13. Spoke too soon. It works fine on liquids, but blows the fuse on solids! Now what? Carl
  14. OK. We found a bad 15 amp in line fuse and replaced it (you can't have too many fuses), now the toilet works and I have flushed everything away! May the lord bless you all for your input! Now that I know where everything is at, you know this will never happen again!! LOL. Carl
  15. Thank you Kay, you made me laugh! Now, try to get one 45 miles south west off Telluride, CO. The nearest and easiest RV supply store is Albuquerque, NM...270 miles. in my Jeep, it will take 6-7 hours each way on a good day. I am tired off jacking with my current toilet, so I have decided to re-place it ASAP. I'll leave the current electric system in place and disconnect it from the buss bar and battery....who knows, later after I'm done with the bus maybe someone wants a better :-) mousetrap! I got to have a toilet, but my life does not revolve around one. KISS ! Carl
  16. There is no manual override on this toilet, it's a all electric with built in macerator...I don't even know why it was used to begin with, since there is a built in macerator for the black tank! I suspect it would be expensive to remove toilet and replace with a normal foot or lever system...have not had a plumber over, yet! I'm in the mountains off SW Colorado. Not many options here! I will be at Redmond, OR. the 11th. Before Redmond, I'll be at the ACC rally in Seven Feathers, OR. and have a AMC tech appt. for the 8th...un related problems! I'm not saying, don't buy an AMC, but I'm very disappointed with the Service Department, because they lied to me...Deb Merritt. Carl
  17. 2010 Tradition 45Y. Found fuse ( circuit breaker ) on buss bar in compartment next to batteries...tested and got 13.4 volt. AMC sent schematics for my coach and told me that control unit was behind toilet, behind paneling. They suggested that I remove toilet to get at a cut out access panel....my toilet is full, so I ended up cutting out another opening ( I have long arms ). No controller, nothing is back there except for touch pad electric line. After an hour of me and a friend wiggling and following wire, we found the controller next to aqua hot for dishwasher. The controller has no reset button, because AMC took the original box as shown on their and Dometic schematic apart and placed the circuit board and connectors in their own water proof receptacle! Per original drawings, there are in line fuses between controller and toilet....we have no clue where they are at, as now the wiring is sheeted and runs under floor back up to toilet. Whatever happened to KISS?
  18. I have a Dometic Sure Flush 8759 toilet that lost electric power. In my manuals and what info I could get from Dometic, there is a 25-amp fuse for 24V or a 15-amp for 12V, also a control box. Does anyone know where American Coach hides the above items?
  19. I understand the 110 volt cord...you don't have a generator?
  20. I have Good Sam, been with them since they started! Have on occasion had some problems, but they where all resolved. Have had Coach Net and found them to be good also. They too have problems. It's not a perfect world and human error happens. I dropped Coach Net because they charge more. If you have a bad experience, like Donald L did, then send a mail to Mr. Lemonis, CEO....he does respond!
  21. Was in Rocky Point with 12 other RV's, 5 CL A's, rest trailers, this March. Went thru Lukevill, AZ and had traffic (Spring Brake) but no problems. Tight in Sonyoya, but Hwy 8 is good all the way down. Lots of people everywhere in Rocky Point and now they have Wall Mart/Sam's. Note. No meat, veg., or fruit across Mexican boarder...their Ag. Dept. is active at boarder.
  22. Tireman. I'm looking forward to your seminar in Redmond. Have a safe trip!
  23. I just had a XZA2 put on my LF on June 5 via Cummins, Houston, TX. Call them and find out witch Michelin Dealer they use, it was close by, it took 90 minutes. I should have got 2. My ride has been great for the past 1,058 miles! They are not cheap....

    Front End Shimmy

Problem fixed and it should be under tires. I had TYRON installed on my 2 front tires, the one on driver side came apart and was sliding around inside tire. That's what caused the noise and shimmy....it cut the inside wall enough that I had to replace the tire. 1 tire, tax and mounting $ 1,160! Not using TYRON anymore, it lasted 7,397 miles.
  25. I had the same engine, same problem on a 07' Winnebago Tour 40KD...per Cummins, the coolant reservoir was to small. Changed it out and never had a problem again...I do Hwy. 285 out of Ft. Stockton, TX. to Roswell, NM, every summer on my way to Ruidoso, NM. 107+ degree weather. I have been on Hwy.14 in CA, both ways in Summer....like an oven.
