  1. I have replaced many many turbos over the years. I will say that the 90% were replaced due to operator error, the rest were part of an in chassis overhaul. The dealership I worked at was on a hill, not a big hill but a hill none the less. Daily we would watch people throttle up into the parking lot towing and go from wide open to shutting off the key (while still moving) and coast into a pull through parking spot. I agree an electronically controlled diesel shouldn't be a problem if NOT modified until it crosses over to an abused diesel, then it's a problem. In those situations the gauge wouldn't have helped anyway. I will say I was very surprised how long it takes our ISL to cool down to a safe zone to shut it off. None of my modified Powerstrokes ever took that long to cool.
  2. When you headed this way with it?
  3. I see from the links the monitor has slightly changed but the sensors are identical. I have had two so far break, the ground strap that secures the battery under the cap has failed/ fell off. Before any of that the false reading are so bad I have actually considered running without any TPMS. The most frustrating one is you pull up to a long light at dusk as the tires begin to cool the alarm starts, "pressure loss!!!!!!""""" All that's happening is the tires are cooling down. now the Toad only has two sensors, two less alarms ringing when the sun goes down. My Pressure Pro system had NOT one false alarm ever. Two times I had alarms and two times they were legitimate. I want a system with replaceable batteries in the sensors and a monitor that can be hard wired. any other recommended products?
  4. This system DD? http://www.minderresearch.com/tireminder/tireminder-tpms-with-6-sensors-and-a-signal-booster-tmg400c-6/ that is identical to the system I have, here's mine, notice anything? They are identical with a different label http://www.innotechrv.com/InnotechRV_10_Sensor_Tire_Pressure_Monitoring_System/p1769244_8615288.aspx
  5. Yes they are almost a requirement, just be careful on the brand you purchase. We had Pressure Pro in the last coach and it worked flawlessly, this coach I cheaped out and bought one made by Innotech. Today while parked I got an alarm the my right rear inner tire somehow added 50 lbs to itself. Then an hour later same time got an alarm it was loosing air, yep back to its normal pressure. In reality nothing ever changed, just another false alarm! That just moved to the top of my list for replacement ASAP! I also have had sensors fall apart internally. I was told Tireminder is another problematic unit. I have no experience with that brand.
  6. Kay she has to pass by the pool to get to the fitness room, hoping she would cool off first . I had it all planned out
  7. My hose trick worked! After her shower I asked how it was, I got the look, she asked what you do? I told her and she smirked and said, you're lucky it didn't go cold . My plan; I told her as soon as I heard her complaining from the shower I was running to the campground fitness room
  8. Bill, exhaust wrap is another great idea! That may be in my future mods for this coach.
  9. Ok, so I got smarter, well I think so anyway. I layed the fresh hose in the sun as a pre heater to the coach, switched on electric only. I will know in a little how it goes.
  10. Jim, the newer coaches have that due to the exhaust after treatment system building up so much heat. Personally I would try the flap first. I have also considered extra escape ventilation but the insulation replacement did wonders.
  11. Roger, I understand your concerns with the propane while in motion.
  12. Herman and Bill, the last time I pulled the "you picked this coach", figured I'd test the water, didn't go so well for me that week
  13. I redid our insulation in the engine bay with this product. https://m.summitracing.com/parts/the-14100?seid=srese1&cm_mmc=pla-google-_-shopping-_-srese1-_-thermo-tec&gclid=CjwKEAjwvr3KBRD_i_Lz6cihrDASJADUkGCaHP2OTEncoz3mLsFAVKPcrHmMYTSxOGynBLS26JIxrhoC97_w_wcB i used the glue they sell and pop rivets with fender washers to hold it up. Our insulation was brittle and left it in place where it wasn't hanging down. cleaned and went over it with the new. Worked well so far.
  14. Roger, you still have an absorption refrigerator or was it removed for a compressor/residential type?
  15. Brett, good information to have and thank you for going out of your way for an answer. I will run it on electric only next time. Herman how long does it take to reheat the water as it was all off from the night before? we were truck stop boondocking with both AC units on and I didn't want to draw any more current on the generator than already. And of course if DW got a cold shower I'd be put in time out . The diesel burner guarantees no cold or dip in the water temperature, but I guess it has one negative side. I think the motor aid side also heats that one zone.
  16. Anyone know if there is a switch or valve to cycle from summer to winter. I noticed when the fan is on in the bathroom it draws hot air from the Aqua Hot register. I'm thinking there is probably a way to stop the flow of coolant to the interior. Just assuming, not sure and I couldn't locate any information in the manual. Model # AHE-100-01 Serial# 01-720
  17. Some problems don't necessarily show the damage immediately but down the road the life of the component was greatly reduced.
  18. Our coach has one, one of our kids saw it and asked if this was what they used for internet before wifi . I had to explain it was for phone service not a cat 5 for a computer .
  19. https://50amppowerpal.com/ Kay, if you should ever travel up here...you have been warned , bring a volt meter! We have only been RV'ing for 9 years and I have had more than my fair share of tower problems and damage as a result. rsbilledwards had a problem two sites down from myself and Obedb last September, he borrowed my power pal and thought it was neat. Older campgrounds are prone to problems and using circuit breakers as on/off switches amplifies it. Worn out breakers seems to be the bulk of the problems I have encountered causing low voltage or campgrounds having too much draw on the infrastructure. I even got wacked by 220 at a campground when turning on the breakers at a CG in Oklahoma, I had one hand on the tower when I flipped the breakers on... hmmm, that explains a lot also I don't deserve all the credit for the gadget, Brett sent the link a few years ago when I mentioned testing CG towers, and I love gadgets like that.
  20. Herman, next summer we are headed to Texas, when are the Lone Star outings/rallies typically held? If I time it right that might be a great option.
  21. No on Indy. discussed Syracuse with DW the other night. What are those dates?
  22. Thanks Herman, I re-read my post and corrected it, it was misleading. What I meant and what I typed were two different things
