  1. I would really like to correct my A/C unit wiring to my auto start on the generator, now that is frustrating....... when the auto shut off is set to on and you turn on the A/C units, the generator has no idea they are about to turn on and shuts itself off. I have two goofy factory installs on this coach that don't make sense. I'm sure I will find more items where common sense wasn't applied.
  2. Mine only ever reads 30 amp on my Intellitec also. In my manual it explains that in order for it to read 50 amps there is a need for a jumper wire that was not installed when the coach was built. Here's a photo of mine showing 30 amps plugged in at home to a 50 amp tower, it also only reads 30 and Gen Set while on generator. Its one of the things I wanted to correct but never found a real need to do so, the repair appears to be simple.
  3. Id bet it's torque/RPM related, 6th gear may drop your rpms but would a 5.9L have the torque at that RPM to push that unit is the question? If so can it do it without creating excessive emissions also, think about it if the engine is lugging its polluting and not saving you a dime. Manufactures are always trying to match up the engine "sweet spot" to the remainder of the powertrain. The 3000 series is a larger heavier unit which will also absorb more of your HP and torque before it exits the transmission. Usually you have to cross a specific HP and torque threshold before the next transmission size will be a standard or even an option.
  4. According to the Coachmen Brochure, that only came with a microwave only and a 3 burner cook top, no oven. After having both we prefer the convection over the traditional gas oven, it cooks much more evenly. The traditional RV gas oven is not like a gas oven in a house, they are difficult to regulate the temps and not dry out or burn food. I want to echo Herman's post above, whatever you purchase please make sure it can be mounted into the spot on your coach. Some require special venting, if you do not provide it they can catch fire.
  5. Lyle, to my surprise our rollers ride on stainless steel plates that are screwed over the carpet. It could be just that simple to source and fasten down.
  6. Only 15 minutes from my house. Send me a PM if you can fit it into your schedule.
  7. What is with the Propane generators on the older coaches? Diesel not available back then?
  8. Puff, have a safe trip! If your up into this part of PA send me a PM, maybe we can catch up.
  9. Very nice!!......Off brand coach, HA
  10. I agree, we searched high and low for an older DP without slides. In a few years it will be just the two of us, no need for all of the added weight and hassles that come with slides. There will be a point in our life where this coach will be traded in for an older unit with no slides. While the extra space is nice its not necessary in our minds. The only reason we purchased this coach was that they were on the drivers side, we spend most of our time under the awning taking in the sights and to walk around a slide or to have one cutting down on my outside space is a huge deal breaker.
  11. Ray, sorry to hear about the start of this trip. Glad you both are ok. East Coast trip?? I hope its the southern part of the East Coast. While today and tomorrow are decent we are supposed to get a lot of rain and I'm sure it will get cold again just after, yesterday I left for work it was 26. What is your long term fix for the refrigerator?
  12. Keon, when we first started to tow I went with the smallest car I felt comfortable in and bought a dolly that didn't have brakes. We quickly figured out how much help brakes would be on the dolly and the car was too small. With the size of your family (don't forget the little ones grow up fast) and before you know it you are out shopping for a larger toad. Lessons learned...... just purchase the toad that suites everyone if they were grown teens, then you will need the brake system anyway . Just remember nothing is an investment in the normal automobile world, if you need to trade up in a year you will wish you had just purchased the larger vehicle from the get go. The first time someone cuts in front of you and stomps on the brakes you will wish you had those extra brakes. I leave large spaces between us and them and it almost never works, you will always be in their way. There is no cardio workout like slamming on the coach brakes and feel the toad push you.
  13. DT-12. It's an automated 12 speed manual. Read up on it pretty neat set up. Put in D and step on the accelerator pedal and it lets the clutch out automatically and shifts by air, outside it sounds like the driver is shifting but they are not.

    LED Light

I have the same over my dinette. Either of the two recommendations above will suffice
  15. I call it comradely. That goose egg has sparked up many conversations at campgrounds amongst fellow FMCA members and folks interested in becoming members. I look for them and say HI! One on the back and one on the front of our coach. By the way those are the brackets from Kiley that Brett posted the link to.
  16. Herman, glad you are all back up and running on electric. What a mess that could have been. Smoked our turkey outside all day after it sat in Brine for 36 hours and it was goooood! hope you didn't eat too much.
  17. Love those registers!! DW likes carpet too much plus the ceramic tile in our coach is heated, who knows what mess that would be when pulled.
  18. , that sounds like something I would say.
  19. Call me crazy but I soap ours with a foam cannon, meguires auto wash soap and scrub it with a horse hair brush on a telescopic pole. The foam cannon covers the side of the coach in two passes and it looks like the car in this link. http://pressurewasherpower.com/accessories/best-pressure-washer-foam-cannon-nozzles/
  20. Carl, you may be right! It's almost like they checked every option even when it didn't make sense, then had larger water and waste tanks done at the in service.
  21. Jim, I'm glad to hear you are all fixed up. Enjoy your trip, safe travels and Happy Thanksgiving!
  22. Always wanted to give that a try, let us know how it turned out.
