  1. Unfortunately Rt 66 is no longer continuous but you can still go on some of it.
  2. Basically you can replace the pump with almost any rv pump. The fittings have a flex hose to each port to isolate the pump noise so location of the fittings is not critical. As mentioned you can upgrade if you wish to a higher volume pump but remember that may increase you water usage.
  3. I went over Monarch pass in the mid 70's with a 25 ft Pace Arrow towing a Toyota station wagon without any problems as I recall.
  4. In bright sun check the voltage output at the panels. What kind of charge controller do you have?
  5. Look for the pickup in the housing between the eng and the trans. It maybe 12 pulses per revolutions.
  6. Once the track bar is adjusted at the correct axle ride height I would loosen the axle u bolts and retorque them. This will release any preload one way or the other, reducing wear on pivot parts.
  7. What I have done in the past is to square up the axle to the frame rails. Set the frame rails on jack stands level and set the axle on jack stands level ride height and measure from the side of the frame to the face of the wheel mount surface. I have done this numerous times when changing axles.
  8. Last couple of years we've been using our cell phones. It gives us instant information on traffic conditions, I don't know how it does it but it does.
  9. After I watched a plastic shop do it I said to myself I can do it. I bought the plastic welder and tried but its not as easy as it looks. About like trying to weld sheet lead with stick lead. I have done some repairs but nothing major. I have cut down a top of a water tank but had a couple of pin leaks, fortunately since it was on the top it was not a problem.
  10. Using a cover is the last thing I would do. The hassle of the bulk of the fabric plus the wear and tear on the finish, although you find a few individuals that use them with some degree of success. Absolutely a garage or at least a roof over the motorhome is mandatory in my book. Just my own opinion. It doesn't make sense to me after spending all that money on a coach that you leave it outside.
  11. The only time you will ever know if you need toad brakes is when you can't stop in time. Are you a gambler?
  12. Richard I watched them weld some plastic holding tanks out of plastic in Las Vegas about 30 years ago. I was doing a bus conversion and needed 4 tanks. I thought the price was a little high at about $400 each so I went with production blow molded tanks at about $200 each from a company in Los Angeles. I think your price is about right.
  13. We part timed in the 70s and visited all lower 48 states at least once and some mulitple times in 3 1/2 years
  14. We have done the NP passport for many years. One summer we were on the outer banks islands, got a stamp, Skagway Alaska, got a stamp, volcanos national park Hawaii, got a stamp, all in 2 months time.
  15. Al Gore probably burns more fuel on a trip in his private jet than I will in a lifetime of RVing.
  16. You could plumb it to the vent pipe and then it would go into the grey tank.
  17. Was in NY area once in 1978, stayed in a city park in Bayonne NJ because the chief of police made the arraignments for the foot police to check on us every 15 minutes. Because our host worked in the World Trade Center we rode the subway into the basement of the WTC. She had us escorted up to the roof before the general public and there was a small crowd at one corner. The guy who had climbed the outside of the building to the roof was there re signing his autograph because it faded after a year. I don't need to go to NYC again as that was enough! A lot more of the world to see.
  18. In order to be safe in a tornado you would have to be underground surrounded by cement. I'm not talking about surviving a tornado in a motorhome, just high winds which is more common.
  19. The tach and speedo do not need cleaning if they are accurate when running. If they are slow to respond to a change then you want to clean the bearings. Battery voltage should be about 12.5 + - .2 volts unless the engine or charger is on, then the voltage should be about 14.2 volts.
  20. Disconnect the wire and see if the light goes off. If it does then look at the end of the valve, It requires the shuttle valve to be in the center, on some there is a stem that is hooked to the shuttle and it can move the valve to center. The reason the valve is off center is the brake system is out of balance causing the valve to move off center. Too move it may take opening the bleed valve on one wheel in the front and one in the back. If the light doesn't go off when disconnecting the wire something else is amiss. See if the reservoir has a sensor and if it is low.
  21. Usually if the tire is still under warranty and the failure is a defective tire they will replace the tire and pay for the damage caused by the tire failure.
  22. I use an optical cable from the optical out on the tv to the optical in on the sound bar. My tv is hinged at the top so I put a shelf in the existing cabinet to hold my printer and other stuff.
  23. Fortunately I don't require coffee so I don't have to fool around with all the paraphernalia.
  24. I have a 43 inch 4K Vizio in the front with Directv HD receiver hooked up with hdmi and a sound bar and sub woofer. Optical cable on the sound and hdmi on the blue ray player. My remote controls both the tv and the sound bar. The 4K picture seems to make a regular high definition picture a little better. With the proper source it has 4 times the resolution of standard HD.
