Joe, the fun part is it isn't realey an exit  it is like a rest stop. That part of I-95 is a toll road and you never go through a toll plaza. There is always lots of room to park a RV.

Bill

Yup, prices were decent and the selection was incredible

Did I mention that they have really good ice cream.

YUP, we visited the one in Amarillo, stocked up the freezer on ice cream, brought it back to PA while we were at Oasis.

What was impressive was everything was stocked and looked good not all picked over. I think a lot of people are overlooking places like this.

Joe, look at the website at the new sundays. You may need to make a ice cream run.

You have Hershey's Ice Cream in your area and it's so very good.

Around here no one like Hershey's ice cream (only tourists) its a novelty name associated with chocolate company not liked because of its taste. The big sellers are WAWA, Turkey Hill, Breyers and Green's. I am pretty fussy when it comes to Ice cream, if it has anything out of the ordinary in the ingredients (corn syrup) we wont buy it!

There are a lot of good ice cream out there.  Breyers, Blue Bell, Tom & Jerry's, Bunny, Braum's, and a lot more that we found in Canada.  Hershey's is NOT on my wish list...I don't even like their chocolate!!!

Time to get the coach ready for a short 4 hour trip to Three Rivers, about a week of house cleaning, since we seem to be stuck in Texas for a undetermined period, we might as well build the add on now!  The coach garage is 38' deep, by 14' high we think, by 20' wide...it was built in 1996 for a 34' coach with no slide outs!  We want 60' x 16' x 30' and cement floor, current is compacted gravel.  The current coach is 49' (That's over all length including hitch) and 13' 4" high!  We're also adding on a bedroom and a boat garage.

Well, my preference when home is H.E.B.'s ice cream. Blue Bell is over rated.  We sure did like Hershey's when in the Ohio Amish area.

All in the taste buds.

Blue Bell was at one time one of the best around. But not so since the reopened that plant after the listeria problem. A good friend of mine, who has over 50 year in the ice cream industry, says that Blue Bell began to put more air in the ice cream to increase the volume which makes for a poorer quality but more money.

But I now just watch other eat it to help keep my triglycerides down. (I did have to spell check that word) :(

One thing great about being in America's Dairyland is that we have great ice cream and frozen custard. In addition to the brands already mentioned, we have local favorites like Purple Door ice cream.

If you come, make sure to find a good fish fry as well. And a local cheese store. There's actually lots to see and do in Wisconsin.

Sometimes we just pick a small town nearby and gov visit - nothing like being tourists and still being able to go home at night. We've even spent a day discovering new things in our own area just by wandering around as if we were tourists.

Likely we'll be keeping the coach closer to home this year, once we can travel again. Hopefully we can discover lots of new things like this.

Richard, a company I once work for had a plant in Decora, Iowa. As we traveled there from Rockford, Illinois we went through Northwest Wisconsin. We stopped at onc the the cheese factories. There I discovered Cheese Curds. They were great with the squeaky feeling when you bit into one. I purchased 5 packages to take home. A week or so after I got home I wanted some Cheese Curds. When I got them out of the refrigerator I found that they had moulded. Do you have any idea how hard it is to cut mould off a Cheese Curd?:(

I can only imagine.

Next time you're up this way you ought to try them fried. Tasty.

Will do. Sound like something they tried for the Fair and it went over good.

Each year here in Texas they have a contest to see who can come up with the tastiest fried food. One of the best was the Battered and Fried Oreo Cookies.

I will look forward to the fried Cheese Curds.

Thanks,

Herman

I agree with you. Many people will go thousands of miles to see what is in your backyard and the things you drive by and take for granted and have never visited. We had fun exploring and setting up things to do and see when hosting a couple of rallies for clubs we belong to. Made me think of something fun. Arlington Texas is a city in between Ft Worth and Dallas. When driving back and forth on the freeways you see the city limits sines but you/we don't think much about it mostly "yep there is Arlington" Yet if you came up on Arlington out on the plains by itself you would be going WOW. Because Arlington is a fairley big city (48th largest in US) but because where it is it's "yep there is Arlington".  But it is an interesting place to explore. It has the newest most advanced ball park in the world (Globe Life Field). I am planning on a tour after this mess calms down.

So go explore around where you live and yes I have two much time on my hands this morning.

Bill

Strafford/ Lake Winny South KOA. Since they opened last weekend almost all campgrounds are booking fast.

Hampton Beach is still closed, which is our fav. Getting the boat ready tomorrow, so can always go fishing.

Squid are moving in with the big ones right behind them.

When we where last at a Amish Market, we asked, "how do you prevent mold on curds?"  She said, "Freeze them, in food saver bags or zip lock!" Been doing that a lot, since we can get it in both Fredericksburg, Amish Market & Durant, OK.  3 miles before Casino! 😁

Good area. Have you ever been to the wooden boat show on/at Lake Winnipesaukee? http://weirsbeach.com/reasons-to-visit/events/antique-boat-show/

We will probably try to stay up at New Found Lake at Newfound RV Park later if we can get up that way later in the summer.

I have noticed a lot of the answers to different Topics and posting are getting a little testy. More so as we have gotten further into this "Shelter in Place". Here on the Forum we are all folks that like to get out and travel. We love to see new places, visit places we have been before, visit old friends and to make new friends.

So as we sit in front of our computers or on our Smartphones lets all take a moment to relax, take another sip on the drink of your choice and think about how to respond to a topic and in a nice way, not in a condescending way that is sure to make the other person mad.

Remember the Forum is here for those needing help with their RVs and for those with knowledge to help. There have been several thousand good questions asked and answered here. So let's get along and keep helping others.
