  1. dmctic1237, Welcome to the FMCA Forum ! Not familiar with the Blue Fire setup or other apps.. From some questions and information posted. IMHO they are lacking in some apps, but some do tend to be better then others. More familiar with the Scan Gauge systems, VSM silver leaf and the OBD readers offered from automotive supply outlets to read the correct system codes, Apps tend to offer information on a running system, but lack in pinpointing many of the codes and information correctly. Rich.
  2. Now that you have found it, I will see if one of the OEM 30 Series van manuals have an electrical circuit that might cover it. Quiet common for them to come with a 2 battery setup. Rich.
  3. Kay, You are working OHMS Law and the Power formulas Hard. Good exercise for the gray mater. 😵 I get a dizzy face at times. Gaps in the organic file folders.☺️ Rich.
  4. Thanks for the chassis up date information. I have a few OEM shop Manuals on hand. Now the kicker is to figure out where the second battery is hiding. Rich.

    RED ALERT

Dan, Welcome to the Fmca Forum ! Could you post the Make, Model and Year of your Coach. That way the information will be more relevant to your question. Welcome to the learning curve all the members are still on in some maner. Rich.
  6. Joe, There is a product that works well, but using it Helter /Skelter can create other issues. Maybe we can have a little PM time, Phone calls always work best. Questions lead to more questions ! Rich.
  7. A388666, Welcome to the Fmca Forum ! The one item I did not see posted in response to your request is The exhaust brake does not work when the Cruse Control is engaged. As soon as you touch the brakes it is disengaged and you will notice the real time affect of the Exhaust brake. If it is turned on ! Rich.
  8. Thanks for your feedback ! Many times the problem is something we all over look ! Hope the issue is resolved. You will know after driving for awhile. Rich.
  9. The only thing I can think of is Air in the hydraulic system or lines. Low fluid in the system can cause cavitation, this causes a chance of air building up in the system. Might be time to cycle the system hydraulics to reduce any air in the system or lines and make sure the level is correct in the reservoir. Rich.
  10. Fashafer1, It might be worth running a vacuum crevices tool and cleaning the dirt out of the window tracks before adding the silicone. Glad you got the seals replaced. Coach should be a quieter ride and drier. Rich.
  11. Doug, Thanks for your feedback. Had Vapor lock issues with a 88 series P-30 with a 454. Installed a electric fuel pump in the fuel line close to the fuel tank ,the added pressure and fuel pressure regulator at the engine did solve the problem. The coach used an aspirated Rochester Quad Carburetor. Never heard of an issue with the electric fuel pump pressure and fuel injectors, But high heat and fuel temperatures can do strange things. Rich.
  12. Interesting that you should bring up the question. However, does the condenser fan turn freely. You will need to carefully stick something carefully into the fan and see if it moves easily. The space between the fan blade and evaporator is close , shutdown the coach engine and go under it with a screwdriver and try to move the fan, if it does not turn. You need a new fan. Then you go on to fuse issues and system charge. My Fan came to a stop yesterday. fan motor froze up. Should your fan turn freely , then check for a blown fuse, or failed relay. A number of things can happen when the condenser cooling fan stops. One can get into a complete system test to find the problem at times. Rich.
  13. Jim, Thanks for the Feedback on where they hid it, in plain sight. Better then where mine is hiding, wrapped up in the engine compartment section of the chassis harness. Now the hard part for me is remembering . LOL. Joe, My filling system is not as reliable any more, You are a few years younger, maybe we should rely on you ! 😱 Rich.
  14. Herman, The thread may be old, but the information is still relevant. Opening Pandora's box could get much more expensive now and in the years to come. Rich.

    air tank purge

Richard, I do not need to pull the drains everyday. When There is water when I pull them. The first thing for me to do is change the dryer filters. And check the governor to make sure it is working properly, so the Compressor runs only for short intervals and is not under load most of the time. This method increases MPG and will extend the compressor life in most cases. Question, Is your coach equipped with an air dryer? Rich.
  16. Herman, The air dryer is located in the AC high side Line just before it connects to the evaporator. High side line that exits the condenser goes into the drier input point, generally labeled in . The high side pressure point, frequently has a red cap protecting the test point and shredder valve. It is larger the the low side shredder valve. The common amount of Oil pored into the drier is 1 oz. It must be the proper ester used to charge the compressor. used in your dash AC system. Then the system requires a vacuum pump to remove all the moisture (water) from the system before charging the system. When the system is under a vacuum it should maintain a minus 28 to 30 lbs for an extended time. I try to leave the system set over night. to make sure there are no leaks and the system is completely dry. This is a good time to replace both of the shredder valves. The system should be charged with 134 a type Freon. This is the Freon based coolant used when your system was installed. Rich.
  17. Peter, sent you a PM regarding your request ! Good to hear from you ! Rich.
  18. Jim, Many times the fuel lift pump fuse is located in the wiring Harness running to the rear of the coach. It is an inline fuse hidden in the harness close to the connection powering the pump. Joe L. is much more familiar with the Monaco wiring then I . Rich.
  19. Welcome to the FMCA Forum ! I have all the 12 volt electrical drawings for your coach, but the 120 volt wiring is missing. From the information you offered . Did you unplug the ice maker from the 120 volt box? There could be an issue with the GFI, Bad ground or the neutral or the high side connection(s). Make sure the Inverter has a good tight ground to the chassis ground point and that the neutral and power feeds from the inverter to the circuit beakers are tight. many coach builders used the 2500 or 2800 Xantrex inverters and most of them have 2- 120 volt circuit beakers. One 20 amp and one 15 amp that power the microwave, refrigerator / ice maker and the entertainment circuits, from the inverter and the pas-through shore power supply riser. week or intermittent connections often cause the GFI's related to these circuits to trip. If you do not feel comfortable working with 120 volt power as for some help ! All AC Power sources must be disconnected. Generator off, Inverter off and disconnected from shore power. Rich.
  20. Need to ask. Does the aluminum come in direct contact with the Galvanized roof flashing? The different materials can / will have a reaction do to the difference in atomic structures of the materials . https://elnamagnetics.com/wp-content/uploads/catalogs/Leadertech/Galvanic-Potential-Differneces.pdf Material interaction Chart link. Rich.
  21. That is what concerns me about adding more flammable items to a hot closed area. Seeing more vehicle fires in the years sense high pressure fuel injector systems where installed and a lot of low quality fuel lines to save every dime from the base cost. Add all the touch screen controls, that take ones eyes off the road and they are more dangerous then cellphone detraction's. IMHO ! A number of the touch screens have a message that using them could cause an accident and if the information is true and one taps the message so you can make adjustments to any of the setting. All that that action does is make the driver accept all legal actions and protects the manufactures from liability. Rich.
  22. Oilchanger, Welcome to the FMCA Forum! Could you post if the refrigerator is located in a slide out or next to a none moving wall and if there are fanes mounted behind the unit to help remove the excess heat? Excess heat behind the refrigerators does cause a reduced cooling range. Rich.
  23. Ray, The 2 Freon's are compatible. The difference is price and 1234yf is flammable. Because of the molecular structure the compressors tend to run cooler, but a spark can light the 1234yf. Not much of an issue in Diesel coaches, but I do wonder about gas powered vehicles as the ignition systems age. There is a flammability warning in the safety data sheet. Some AC Compressor builders are using a different PAG oil for the 1234yf. Rich.
  24. Bill, Sniffers and UV dye work will when looking for those nasty little leaks! Rich.
  25. Have you sprayed some oil on all the pivot points? If they are hung up the current limiter circuity will stop any motion. I have had the best luck with a good bicycle chain oil. To get all of them one needs to get under the coach, But make sure you are clear of the area under the steps. They will pin you to the ground ! if they start to move. Not a good location if you are working alone. Rich.
