  1. Billym1vet! Welcome to the FMCA Forum ! Think you have Hydraulic Jacks? if that is the case and none of the jacks are work you need to see if there is power at the hydraulic pump motor, The fuse location is selected by the coach builder. A call to Fleetwood With the units FIN number and they should have information on where the fuse is located, also they can supply you with a lot of other information. There is a labile on the drivers side / outside and under the drivers side window with the Fin number, Fleetwood Customer Service Mon-Fri 8:00am - 5:00pm ET 800 322 8216 Home page http://fleetwoodrv.com/partsandservice/ Rich.
  2. Door locks are an item to put on the maintenance list and there are posts that mention the fact that the screen door is often in the way when trying to remove the assembly when the door is closed. The door lock systems do fail, but we tend to forget to remove the parts and keep the internal mechanism lubricated. Not an item placed on the periodic maintenance list. Should the latch pin be made of plastic, there is always a greater possibility of them braking. How often do people remove and lubricate there house door locks, not often if ever and the new combination locks for homes do require new batteries and they always run out of power when one does not have the key ring with the house key! Rich.
  3. Chandler, Arizona, March 7 through 10, 2017: FMCA’s 95th International Convention The Date has not been released for the 96th. Reunion in 2018. Rich.
  4. Harry, Welcome to the FMCA Forum ! The Fact that you mentioned the Inverter / Charger has been rebuilt, would lead me to the electrical connections at the inverter output. They need to be tight, especially the ground connection. You had no issues before it was removed and reinstalled, and incorrect, loose connections or incorrect wire routing all can compromise the mentioned circuit, considering its location close to the DC power panel. Think they are over reaching when talking about removing so much interior material. Think I would get a second or third opinion an maybe a call to Fleetwood and get there feedback. Fleetwood Customer Service Mon-Fri 8:00am - 5:00pm ET 800 322 8216 http://fleetwoodrv.com/partsandservice/ Just have a strong feeling that is where your problem is !! Rich.
  5. Got to mention that over the years, I have pulled into a few truck stops that sure will drain well, but fueling from the front of a coach was not going to happen. So I pulled through and went against the nominal traffic flow. No problem at all, but one gets some interesting looks and questions. Just needed to point out that fulling a saddle tank that fills from the back is totally different then trying to force diesel fuel up hill when filling from the front of a Coach. LOL Rich.
  6. This link will offer some insight regarding the exhaust temperature on a Diesel turbo powered engine and some thoughts regarding its importance. http://www.dieselhub.com/performance/egt.html Rich. Kind of why My engine alternator location eats Alternators that typically have a top operating temperature of 275 Deg. F. So I installed an Air pickup and diverted exterior ambient air directly to the alternator location.
  7. I do understand the reason for the increase in dues and it is a good deal from my perspective, considering what the Assist program offers compared to what the cost was for an individual to purchase, but this portion is a little confusing as of October 1,2016, first-year membership dues will be $60, and renewal dues will be $50 per year. Could the Board clarify this portion, explaining the higher cost for new members and what that difference covers? and that from my understanding; will be $ 50.00 for an additional year going forward at this time. Or will the dues be $60:00 for all existing members who renew after October 1, 2016. FMCA’s Governing Board passed a fiscal-year 2017 budget that includes a $10 dues increase for FMCA family members effective October 1, 2016. So, as of that date, first-year membership dues will be $60, and renewal dues will be $50 per year. Thank You ! Richard Marvin.
  8. Good information ! Thanks for the fallow up and posting the solution for your issue. The feedback is so helpful to others ! Rich
  9. Not sure what is in Dawn liquid soap, so there is a possibility of it reacting with the aluminum in the CAC and radiator. So you might want to consider using Simple Green EXTREME to clean them. It is FAA approved to clean Aircraft Aluminum. No ingredients that would have a reaction. Found it at PEP Boys in spray bottles and can be ordered through Walmart on line in gallons and diluted for application in different levels of grease. There should be other outlets that stock or can order the product. Rich.
  10. Jim, the Onan Auto start system has been problematic, so you might want to do some research. Depending on the Magnum unit you have. You might be able to add AGS mod to the existing system. Rich.
  11. A small trickle charger in the range of 2 to 5 amps will keep good batteries charged when the coach is just setting. A bad battery can change things though. Rich.
  12. Indeed, The Solenoid for the ignition circuit that when in the key is in run position runs a number of items and is a continuous duty unit. The Relay in the start position supplies high current to the starter solenoid only when the key is in the Start position and is a intermittent device. When you say nothing, do items like the blower motor, turn signals or the fuel lift pump Run(only about 30 seconds if the engine does not start)? Then when in the start position can or do you hear a relay clicking in the back of the coach, ether in a panel area / location or near the starter motor. If you have a clicking sound at the starter, then it could be a starter relay issue or the starter solenoid that is mounted directly to the starter motor. No click or noise from the start relay, then a bad relay or connection at the low voltage connections. The small wires, One for 12 volts and the other is a ground. The big wire goes to the batteries and the other to the starter. Rich.
  13. This information just came into my email - So I need to ask. Have you gotten any thing displayed like this? First message on display read "No trans ECU data" Second message on display read "No eng ECU data" Third message on display read "Park set on neutral" Rich.
  14. Take a close look around the area of all the exhaust ports and see if there is a black streak or smug looking spot(s) around the ports or where the turbo bolts to the manifold. These black areas would indicate a leak around the seals or a crack in the manifold. Depending on the engine there is often a hose running between the intake manifold and the air compressor input, these lines tend to baloney and fail, the opening is not always evident. Rich.
  15. Thomas, To meet EPA requirements, the fuel tanks are required to have a vapor recovery system cycle. This system is often vacuum or electrical control so the vapor is cycled back into the engine intake manifold. When you remove the gas filler cap and there is pressure in the tank, one can often smell or even feel the pressure release. Rich
  16. Thanks Tom. The limit of the message usage has not been an issue, I just have to remember to go there and delete massages from time to time. LOL When the format changes it challenges my old gray matter ! The limit on attaching pictures offers a challenge, but I did fine that attaching a word dox. with a picture works. I'm not the brightest light bulb in the box when it comes to all the options one can use to get them to the members. The weakness is hopping the intended recipient has a word software. I really do understand the reason for the limit a data storage requirements. You and the IT group Do a great job, Thanks so much for your dedication! Rich.
  17. Jim, the primary key for batteries is the Amp Hrs. to cost. And what you consider a good number cost wise for the rated Amp Hrs.or how you use the coach. Might want a higher Amp hr. rating if you are a dry camper and a low rating if you tend to camp where shore power is provided. Should the location your connected to an lights go out, one can keep things running and charged up by running the generator to keep the 12 volt system charged as needed. Rich.
  18. Just looked at my IM folder and wanted to know what percentage of used space has been used and could not fine the box that allows me to delete items so my in box does not fill up. Got to be missing something or it moved. Thanks Richard Just Found out where and how to delete messages ! under the options button.
  19. The fact that they are setup to be controlled by phone type cable(4wire type plug?) There is a good possibility that there is a pair of wires that are reversed. I have not studied the wiring for this type of setup. Are there any specifications regarding the use of OEM specific type cables? You might need to go through the setups. ELECTRONIC CONTROL CONFIGURATION Depending on the equipment options installed by the recreational vehicle manufacturer, the appropriate dip switches will need to be switched to the "ON" position. See Fig. 20. Placing the switch in the "ON" position selects that option. Note: Dip switches are in the "OFF" position when shipped from the factory. Rich. Rich.
  20. The fact that you have one hot and one cold line at the AC compressor indicates the the AC system loop is working. First though is that the low voltage control system wiring or control system is not connected correctly or something is not right with the control system. What model and year coach do you have? What is the make of the temperature control system? Rich.
  21. Thanks Tom! A good man with wisdom and knowledge! Now, if I could master Canadian French LOL Rich.
  22. widewader, Just tried to lookup Add-a-Brake and it does not come up. By chance is there any model number or series number on the unit? It is a new item to me. Rich.
  23. jgarner721, Welcome to the FMCA Forum ! Could you post the Model and Year of your Alfa coach for the group? Kind of helps to narrow down the correct owners manual needed. In the mean time you might start by looking at this link: http://mavericksrvclub.com/SUNDANCERS%20CHAPTER%20URL.pdf Rich.
  24. Thanks for the reply! Good to know that you got water to flow into the potable water tank ! Should you be considering to use the water in the tank to drink you should go through a disinfecting process. Until that is done I would advise using bottled water for drinking and making coffee, tea and for cooking. Do not want anyone getting sick on the first trip !!!!! Rich.
  25. Depends on where you plan to mount the antenna. Attaching it to the front fiberglass shroud or a sidewall? To the shroud, you need a spot where you can get into to attach the mounting bolts and pull the cable through and not drill into any wiring. The same for a sidewall mount. The only real difference is not drilling through one of the steel or aluminum structural members in the side wall and being able to attach the inside portion of the mount and running the coax cable. Always good to have a sharp drill(s) Ponder the possibilities, think clearly where things would work best, with no unexpected surprise's. Rich.
