If I was in the market for a toad, Jeep would not be on the list until Jeep, or somebody, can prove the 'wobble issue' is fixed...for sure fixed.

Who, What, When, Where or Just Lets Talk

A few years ago we were camped in Grove, OK, in a 5th wheel and needed a part. Called Newell, they had it, so we drove up to Miami. The receptionist had a chalk board behind her desk with a list of owners for whom they were currently building coaches. We recognized most of them....race car drivers. -
Call Good Sam, they have folks who will find you the best rate. I did that last June and GS got me a rate, with the same coverage I had, with the same company I had...for $500 less. Go figure.

Carl, Amer Coach quit using Diamond Shield a few years ago and now (at least my '14) has Dura Shield. http://durashieldppfs.com/ -

I have a similar crack got on our last trip. It starts at the bottom, goes up about eight inches, then turns toward the pass seat for another three inches. Novus sealed it for $60. Tech said if it starts again to call him and he'd do it again. -
We had a TT membership and did not renew it. In addition to the comments above, it seemed whenever we went to a TT park, all the really good spaces were occupied by empty RVs....owned by the locals.

That's what I do, and just drain the fresh water.

The Ventana is not in the same class or price range as the Mountain Aire or Tour.

Carl, I can only address Amer Coach, but in 2013 through 2018 the ISX was 600...excluding model year 2014, when AC did not offer an ISX. Cummins came out with the 605 in 2016, but AC just started using it (as a 605 and not a 600) in 2019 model year. We saw the new 605 at Spearfish in August. A number of our members have the 650 in earlier model coaches, usually Heritages, and have had problems.
-
I read on one of the forums that several years ago Cummins finally admitted the ISX had valve problems. They fixed it by changing the ISX from 650 HP to 600 HP plus some internal changes.

The tire manufacturers have a manual that explains the TP for use based on the tire size, weights, single or dually. Easy to use. I take that weight and add 10%. Bing the tire manufacturer and see if you can download that manual.

That depends on a couple of things. Where are you going to live and how big a gamble are you willing to make to register and tag a vehicle in a state in which you do not live? Some folks like to establish an LLC in Montana. Several people in my state did that, and saved lots of money until the local police began to question why there were so many big RVs with Montana tags. Long story short, the people that lived here but tagged their RVs in Montana paid all the back taxes they avoided but owed (sales, personal property, late fees), paid all the fees (licenses) they avoided, and paid big time fines. If the question is where can you live with the cheapest RV fees, that's a different issue.

Don't know the name of the scale, but the only time we've ever found a portable scale was at an Amer Coach rally, where they brought in a vendor.

We've been all over Texas and the worst love bugs seemed to be in the SE part of the state. A few years ago we went from League City (SE of Houston, in Brett's territory) to Rockport, down just NE of Corpus. The bugs hitting the front of the coach sounded like, and reminded me of, a previous life when some unfriendly folks were firing AK47s at me and my windshield...both sounded the same, and quite similar.☹️ -
I use one ounce of vinegar to 16 ounces of water and newspapers (not the colored ad section), does a find job. We had some really dirty windows on the stick house garage...the above mixture did a lot better job than the high priced "window cleaner" that smeared the everything.

You guys are weird...that's not my idea of "curves."😉

Pilot/Flying J are not "ripping off RVers" they just charge a premium for the convenience, if you can call it that, of buying their diesel. As for the truckers, they are not paying what we pay, they all have contracts for much cheaper fuel. Ever seen a Wally World truck at any commercial refueling station. No, and you won't, they have their own refueling capability...as well as showers, food, etc at the Wal Mart Distribution centers around the country. WM takes care of their drivers.
-
Since you are well set in MHs, Carl, you would not like travelling in the 5th wheel. Nor would you like pulling into to a CG in the fog/rain/dark and have to set up.

Today I called the Pilot/Flying J corp office to question how the RV Plus card was to be used. She gave me a long explanation, but the bottom line was this: - At the RV pump(s): Used exactly like a credit card at any service station. - At the big rig pumps: Pull up and stop at an open pump, note the pump number, go inside, stand in line, tell clerk the pump number and approximately how many gallons of fuel you need...she'll run your card for that much...go outside pump fuel, go inside, stand in line, tell clerk you are finished and need to total actual fuel taken and a receipt, clerk runs card for correct amount, destroys first receipt used for the estimate, and gives you the new receipt, you leave. I expressed my displeasure....since I can go to my friendly Wal Mart, scan my Visa (or Walmart Gift card for an extra discount), pump the fuel, take the receipt and leave....she just said that's the way it is. So if anybody can swipe their RV Plus Card at the truck pumps, I'd sure like to know how you are doing it.

Entrepreneurial Question -- New RV Service / Repair Company for Houston

You guys have to be kidding! This entire operation sounds like work, serious work, you know, a big time J O B. Have you forgotten how a J O B can crimp your style, restrict your travels, limit your free time, require to be some place rather than where you'd prefer to be....for hours, some times days, back to hiring the lousy unqualified high school drop out who will leave (or you will fire him) in less than 90 days, working with obnoxious ill mannered customers who want everything but want to pay nothing, working weekends/holidays, trying to keep all the employees happy, having to explain to the D/W why you will miss the ...fill in the blank...due to the crisis at the office, and the beat goes on. I think I'll pass.🙂 -
Are you talking about the number on the card, or the PIN? To answer your question we haven't even tried to use pay at the pump for several years...maybe things have changed.

Sometime I believe we over think the RPM/engine temp/trans temp/gear, etc, issue. During our recent 3,500 mile trip out west, with several runs over the Continental Divide, I never touched the Allison....I just let it do it's thing. As the engine got hot, it down shifted as required and automatically turned the fan on. The down shifting kept the torque/HP where they needed to be for maximum efficiency.

I drain the water and black/gray tanks for storage, the residue in there won't hurt anything. The only problem I've had was when it was down in single digits the pull handles for the holding tanks froze. I put a couple of lights there to thaw them out. I do put a pair of 60 watt bulbs next to the water pump so it won't freeze.
