  1. Lee, There is no end for the saga of the Never Cool 1200. The EPA has designate the 1200 as a bio hazard and can no longer be used as boat anchors. They are now having to make special locations in land fills for them. Most states are having problems finding them in isolated areas along country roads illegally dumped. They are stating that they would rather have old mattresses and couches than No Cool 1200ds. Herman
  2. Irish, Is your current furniture comfortable and just in need of sprucing up? If so reupholster and you will get the fabrics and colors you want. Besides it already fits. Herman
  3. Sushi chef, back many years ago we had a fellow in Dallas with a place called "Shainghigh Jimmys". He specializes in a dish of chili and rice. Jimmy would take a bowl, put in a scoop of rice, place a pad of butter on it, then a layer of chili, and repeat it, rice, butter chili. It was to die for. He moved to a spot in downtown Dallas and the lunch crowds lined up down the street everyday till he passed away. Memories ? Herman
  4. This a case of Damned if you do and Damned if you don't. FMCA did their due diligence in checking all the facts with each manufacturer as to the tow ability of their respective vehicles. After the results are published one company comes back and says sorry we have decided that we don't recommend towing that unit 4 down and will not honor any warranty claims if towed 4 down. Thank you FMCA for notifying the membership so quickly. Now if I had purchased the vehicle mentioned for the specific purpose of towing it 4 down because it was so advertised as such, then I would love to see them turn down a claim for damages. Different story for those sold after the change, but not for those sold before. Herman
  5. Roads? I thought it was a coded message for the invasion of Mt. Rushmore! Herman
  6. This is the first time I have heard of a good reason to trailer a tow vehicle. "If it Breaks I can still get it back home." Please don't take me wrong, I know different folks like to tow a trailer, both open and enclosed for their vehicles. I just think it is so much easier to tow 4 down. An hey, I have seen some really nice looking trailers behind MHs. Herman
  7. "There is no such thing as 'Texas Chili with Beans'." Texas Chili does NOT have beans in it. That is one of them D$^#*d Yankee things. And sour cream, Yuk..Yuk..Yuk!!!!!!! Herman
  8. j, I believe in Texas the grace period is 72 hours. If you wrote a check can you stop payment? Check mfg. date. That could let you know how long it sat on the lot. As Brett said act NOW! Good luck, Herman
  9. Strats, Two things come to mind. 1) You may have a bad flasher. Do your stop lights work? 2) You may have a bad turn signal module on the steering column. You would be amazed of how much goes through that module. Another question, do your emergency flashers work? I would check flasher first. Herman
  10. Gramps, might I suggest that you place this in as a blog. There is a special section for blogs. Herman
  11. Congratulations on you new acquisition. Just to be on the safe side keep an eye on the trailing arm. When Monaco did the recall it was said that they used the same trailing arm that broke before the first time. Herman
  12. Debbie I have F/B insurance. I called my agent and asked about coverage from tire blow outs. Dave called his home office and he assured me that we were covered for any damages to the coach or tow vehicle due to tire failure. He did state that tire was not covered. Please call your agent and ask him if you are covered. I would like to know what his answer might be. Herman
  13. When I replaced my No Cool with the Samsung RF 18 I to left the cover in place. I insulted the outside wall with the foil backed sheet and cut a hole in the board for access to the back of the fridg. That came in handy when after the installation was completed the Ice Maker didn't work. I was able to pull the unit out enough to to get to the water solenoid. Sure enough the wires were just dangling there, had not been plugged in at the Factory. Coffee break I assume. Now it works like a dream and after pushing the unit back in I just put the cut out section back in. Ron, like yours I had the two drawers below the Never Cool. I removed them and lowered the unit to the floor. (I did have to raise the floor to be even at the bottom 3/4"). Above the Unit I made a door that when opened I have access to the Shore power plug as well as the Inverter plug I moved above the unit. I also have the water filter for the ice maker up there. When I become more proficient at attaching pictures I will post them. Herman
  14. Carl, FYI, there is a fellow that will weigh all four corners in Livingston at the Escapees Camp Ground. 936-327-8873 If you can't get it done in Chandler You might give him a call and drop in sometime on your way to the ranch. Herman
  15. fsod48, A friend of mine had the cabinets redone in his Monaco several years ago in Ohio. He found an Amish shop that did really great work. The next time I see Steve I will get the information and post it here. Also, Motor Homes of Texas has just begun to do remodels. Don't know the quality or pricing but if they are equal to everything else they do it should be quality work. Herman
  16. nat58, As Carl just said, a tad bit more information. Gas or Diesel? Engine Make, Cummins, Detroit, Navistar, Ford, Chevy.??? First make sure your batteries are fully charged. Check for corroded post and lugs. You stated that all you could hear was a clicking noise. Sounds to me like a Bad Starter Solenoid. Herman

  18. I wonder how it works on oil? (Inside joke)? Herman
  19. Mary-n-Phil, Welcome to the Forum. There is a website...rvparksreviews.com. There you can check out cities along your chosen route. Herman
  20. If Tracy is that far into the shower, I would try and find a suitable replacement for Lowe's or Home Depot. And as Kay suggested find some method of securing it. Herman
  21. Phil, Carl is right about renting a car. There are day passes but that only gets you into the vendors and show coaches it is only good for one day. It doesn't give you access to the seminars, ice cream or any of the entertainment. However a Passport gets you everything for the entire Rally. Either one would be your choise. And besides you want to be able to come to the Forum Meet and Greet an meet everyone. Herman
  22. Sorry but I couldn't find the post where it was said that Farm Bureau didn't cover coach damage caused by a tire blow out. I had my agent check with the main office and he informed me that the coach was covered. He stated that any and all damage done to the coach caused by a tire blow out was covered less deductible. He did reiterate that the tire WAS NOT covered. Herman
  23. Dave, Welcome to the Forum. Joined FMCA yet? Your best bet would be to contact HR in Decatur Illinois. Make an appointment to take the coach to the factory. It is a guaranty that by time you get there you will have more on your list. Like a new home you will have a long punch list to get taken care of. Good luck, Herman
  24. The best roadside service is the one that you feel comfortable with. They all have their Goog points and their bad points. Herman
  25. When I pulled our no cool out it sat by the sink. I asked my self will ever need this thing. No! So after removing the doors, which I still have, I cut it into small pieces and threw them out the door. (The DW did have to vacuum) Herman
