  1. rfsod48, Just as an example, Motor Homes of Texas has a 2005 Travel Supreme, 45 foot, tag axle, 4 slides, 500 HP Cummins, 4000 Allison and with a 12.5 KW Onan. All for $124,000.00. Beautiful coach. I would really think about this coach for us if we were looking to upgrade. They also have a number of Foretravels under $200,000.00, even a beautiful Newell in your price range. One really nice thing about MOT is the way they show their units on their website. Plus they have some great folks there. Give their site a look see. motorhomesoftexas.com Herman
  2. Jim, Welcome to the Forum. If you are towing a vehicle on a dolly and you are hitting then you may be turning too sharply. Was the dolly you tried a steerable? Herman
  3. Joe, How much of a bend will you need to make on the tubing? I can't remember but I think you should be able to make a long radius bend in the 16 gauge 304 S/S, not sure on too short of a bend. Are you planning on using a local muffler shop to bend it for you? Good luck and let us know how it comes out. Herman
  4. I am always amazed at our national reunions. It is a slow and some time trying process getting on site and getting parked. But the morning after the last night of the rally and the areas clear out quicker the the parking in the ATT Stadium parking lot after a Cowboys loss. Herman
  5. If my memory serves me I remember a coach back many years ago that looked like Conventional Cab Tractor. It was not as long in front but still had a engine out in front of the driver. It wasn't a class "C", it was an "A". However I thought it was one of the ugliest coaches I ever saw. Does anyone else recall this coach? If the OP wants a FRED he might try looking for a Super "C". I don't have first hand knowledge but I would think it would still be noisy but not as bad as a FRED. Herman
  6. Craig, are you saying that RVDA will give, sell, you coverage on 12 year old coach? Just for kicks I asked GS for a quote, and after many exhausting questions they asked the year of our coach. They said that there was no way they would or could insure a 14 year old coach and they accused me of wasting their time. So you might asked about age. Herman
  7. Joe , When I looked in the front electrical on our Dynasty the first time I was amazed. The wiring was beautiful, perfectly laid out, I was in awe. Then one day I had to open the inspection panel on top of the dash. What a mess. I think, to make the job easier they made all wires at lest 3 feet longer than needed and when done cramed it all in and covered it up. Still love the coach. It is ole school. Herman
  8. Kent, take it to Red Bay, Alabama to Tiffin. You may have to wait a while because it is first come first serviced. But you will get it fixed. Herman
  9. Bill, There are four places in Texas that I know that do great jobs on paint. Xtreme Graphics in Nacogdoches. James Stallings 936-560-5888. Foretravel in Nacogdoches Motor Homes of Texas also in Nacogdoches and Texas Custom Coaches in Pipe Creek, They all have web site you can look up. Herman
  10. I am always amazed at how clean their work spaces are and how they make is "seem" so easy. I guess to them it is. Herman
  11. Barkley, Good to hear from you, it's been a while. As Carl said said check for an RV salvage yards in your area. If none google RVSalvage, there are a number of them across the country. The one that come to mind for me is Colaws in Cartadge, Missouri. Herman By the way, nice pictures.
  12. Bill, I think that valve can be rebuilt in place. At least Rich Trathue can, maybe you could get him to make it an episode on Ask This Old House. Herman
  13. slider, Your front power awning is held up with 2 screws. One at each end and they are in slots on each plastic end. The longer of the two plastic ends contains the drive motor. Loosen the screw on that end and remove the screw on the other end. You should be sure and support that end as you remove that screw. You may then slide the awning off. Sounds to me as if you have a wire come loose. Herman
  14. So that beautiful shower head doesn't have an equalizer valve? Or it just doesn't work to well in the coach set up? Herman
  15. Mike, Tom makes several nice points about the MB alignment. He spoke of the Toe in/out being the most common culprit. Never heard of the running of the hand across the tread to check for in or out wear. Sounds reasonable to me. The one thing he didn't mention what the desired Tow In should be. Maybe you might see if he will give you that specification. Herman alignment specs.pdf
  16. In the past I have used my jumper cable to power the coach till I could move it to a safer location and be able to replace the solenoid. I carry a spare just in case. Herman
  17. Disconnecting the ground cable would indeed cut off the power to prevent battery drain. The down side of that is that it would also kill the power required for the Buddy Brake he is installing making the brake useless. If he disconnects the ground cable he will need to run power wire and a ground wire from the coach to the toad that will connect to a power outlet for the Buddy Brake. A brake power line from the coach to the toad should be fused on both ends for safety. Herman
  18. NOB, most inverters have a control panel from which you should get a reading of remaining amount of usage left. In our coach overnight we will use adout 35 to 40 %, with only the refrigerator and some Aqua Hot for heat. Herman
  19. 10-4 hope we can find time to do just that. Herman
  20. I just pulled the bulb from my Porch Light. The bulb has no Number on it. Do as Bill suggested pull your bulb and take it to Auto Zone. Car Quest, O'reilly's, Nappa, and even Walmart. Get more than 1, you can always use a spare. Herman
  21. Bill, Only you would drive 1,500 miles to get free parking. Herman
  22. bmiller, look closely to the lens. There are numbers on it that can direct you to the manufacturer and a part number. Herman
  23. bernie, Craigslist, RV Trader, local papers. One thing you can do, when you find a coach you like see what the dealer offers you for your coach. Take that price and add the state and local taxes to it and that should be the minimum you should take for your coach. Herman
  24. Joe. Monaco has two full house filters just past the pump outlet. The city water also comes in just before filters. Herman
  25. 2 years and 194 post and lots of adventures. It may be that it should have been started as a Blog. But I for one have enjoyed being a small part of Ray's adventure. It has allowed us all to travel with Ray and Hanna through some very rough times but also some happy times. This has allowed a number people that have never met one another to get together, now as friends, and travel with Ray and Hanna. Thanks Ray and keep us up on how we are doing. Herman
