Cummins ISL And ISC Engines With CAPS Fuel Injector
hermanmullins replied to dickandlois's topic in Engines
Joe, Yes, lucky your filter are right out in the open. When you have "Junk in the Trunk" is may take more then one change out. Did you see anything other then the grass clipping you saw in or on the top of the filter? If you still have your old filters why don't you cut them open and just see what may have been filtered out. I would be like the curious cat, I would have to look. Let us know. Herman -
Mike, I have the same situation as you however my compartment doors open higher then yours. I have 20", 80 Pound struts. I will go out and measure my door sizes and dimensions of the strut brackets and let you know what they are. It may help in locating your strut brackets. Herman

Oldgrape, Take a trip to your local new car dealership. Go to their used car department and ask who they use to help with the details on their trade-ins. Lots of them have folks that can come in and remove door dings, repair pin stripes and yes do seat and dash repairs. They will be able to repair and or repaint your dash panels. Or better still, give your grand children some marker and let them work their magic on the spot. Then when asked you can say, "Oh the Grand Kids did it and I couldn't hang it on the refrigerator. Cummins ISL And ISC Engines With CAPS Fuel Injector
hermanmullins replied to dickandlois's topic in Engines
Joe, I could track my bad fuel to a staions where I filled up about 10 miles from home. Parked coach and didn't run the coach for about 3 or 4 weeks. Next time out I had the same issue as you described. That was when I changed the filters and added the chemicals. Haven't stopped there since nor had a problem since. Good luck with yours. Herman -
Roadking, Welcome to the Forum. With your travels you may have a lot to contribute here. Herman

Joe, Had same problem with my 400 ISL. Turned out to be filters. Changed out both and added both conditioner and biocide. Seem to solve the issue. I will add conditioner ever second or third fill up more, often when at staions we aren't familiar with. Herman -
Roadking, I have a cart that I use at many different venues. RV Parks where we are long distances from a to z. I always take it when we go to chapter rallies, Six-State Rallies and Nationals. If you are looking for a cart you might try Craigslist in your area. I would suggest looking for an Ezgo RXV 48 volt. Look for a 4 passenger with lights. You should be able to find a good cart for around $3,000.00. Be sure that the batteries are less then 2 years old. Also an added bonus of having the cart is when we are home all the grand kids love to drive and ride on it around the farm. It is also a good way for them to learn to drive. Good luck and enjoy the ride. Herman

Roadking, You can get Oxygen Cylinders that carry up to 300 cubic feet and are more than enough for the trip, however they are very heavy and require adequate security and take up lots of space. Taking her Concentrator would be a much better option. As suggested take additional needed supplies. Kudos for taking your mother-in-law with you. Herman

Jim, We also installed a Samsung RF-18 last year and have run it on a 2 kw modified sine wave ever since. We have dry camped at Wally Worlds several times with no problems. I will run the generator for a couple of hours before going to sleep and crank it back up when we wake and the batteries will be down to maybe 60%. We love the unit and the added space. Herman

I understand the cleaning abilities of isopropyl. My concerns are the flameability of it. Herman

Yea, another M&G convert, congratulations on an excellent choice. Herman -
WD40 is also a good product to clean oil and grim. You can direct the spray to the area with the added benefit of the pressure. I used to purchase it in 55 gallon drums for our shop maintenance. Herman

Trish, list your area and someone may know a service in your area. Herman

Mike, On our 02 Dynasty, we have bay doors the open up. 90 degrees is a safety so as to not open or close the slide with the door open. Lots of things can happen. Our doors have a chain on them to keep the door from going past 90 degrees, however the chain can be removed to allow the door to open further when the slide is closed, We also have a safety switch the will not let the slide move if the bay door is open. Look to see if you might also have a chain or cable on the doors. Herman

tricializ, If you know that you have a hydraulic leak, you may just be low on fluid. Check your level and add if needed and retry moving the gen. slide again. You may have said it before but what coach do you have? By your description you have a DP. Please have the leak repaired asap because you don't want to extend the slide and it not return. Let us know how you make out. Herman

T Mobile Service In The Canadian Maritimes

Rich, Can you explain the Canadian Insurance Card. Do you have to go through your Insurance Carrier? Herman -
Dish Network has done similar things to their signals. My older Winegard SD I dome would no longer support the Dish signal. Winegard made an offer to customers affected by this with a very good discount on a new or re-manufactured SK 1000. I took it in a heart beat. I had been looking at that unit and through their offer I saved several hundred dollars. At the same time I talking to Dish and they replaced my receiver. I now can watch HD/TV in the coach. Herman

George, Welcome to the Forum. Hope you have joined FMCA. Sorry for your problems, however it might help you find a service company to work on your system if you told us where you live. I can tell you about North Texas, Wildbill in Ft. Worth and Brett in South Texas. Joe knows PA while Rich know NY. So let us know your area and someone on the Forum can direct you to a repair facility. Good Luck, Herman

Supplemental Towed Vehicle Lighting Requirements
hermanmullins replied to mikey229617's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
In most states they require a red flag on anything that protrudes more 18" pass the end of the vehicle. I would assume the same would be the same for a trailer which a tow dolly is. Herman -
Thanks Tom good to know. Herman

Generator Start Sequence Question: Onan 7.5 QD
hermanmullins replied to dmastroluca's topic in Electrical
One of the things on our coach is how inaccurate all of my gauges are. My holding and gray tanks readings are not reliable. My fuel gauge may read below 1/4 and will be flashing LOW FUEL. I will stop and fill up. I have a 130 gallon and will only take 75 gallons. I try to never get that low but sometimes it happens. Sometimes when fueling up I will raise the side I am filling so I can get a full tank. Yes I am considered odd but some, ok by most. Herman -
The only company I know of that sells tire insurance is Discount. When you buy a new tire, they give you lifetime rotation and balancing. They will offer you road hazard. It one time it was $11.00 per tire, not sure the cost now. One other thing they have is free flat repair no matter where the tire was purchased. I always purchase my tires there. I can take FMCA'S program prices in and they will match them. Unfortunately they don't do large truck or RV tires. Herman

Joe, Better then Crisco, go to McDonald's and ask for some of their used grease. Wipe the coach down with it and on those warm afternoons in the RV park you can smell like French Fries. Mnn gooood. Herman
