  1. Papa 135, Welcome to the Forum. Did you by any chance fly with a Air Force Coronel by the name of Jack Bryan? I know two retired Load Masters SMSgts., Charlie Adcock and Steve Beall. Herman
  2. Yes GB1 there are several techniques for removing a sofa out the door. And everyone contains strong, young friends. Measure several ways first, then measure again. Herman
  3. Think of little bit better FEMA Trailer. Herman
  4. mwilson, The filling of the water tank when hooked up to water is a simple fix. You have bad check valve on the inlet side of your pump. That should be a warranty item. Herman
  5. Carl, They have a coach with a Washer/Dryer for a coffee table in it. Herman
  6. If that is the kind of service you get from the dealer you purchased your coach from, yes you should call Fleetwood. They need to know what kind of service their dealers are providing customers. When talking to the Factory ask them for a better dealer where you can have your warranty work done. That being said when you have outstanding service you should also let the manufacturer also know. They always get the bad news and appreciate hearing the Good News. Herman
  7. Carl, While in Perry you can have your Aqua Hot serviced. Lloyd DeGerald did mine in Madison. I had spent close to $3,000.00 on mine in Carrolton, TX by Blue Moon and it still didn't work . Lloyd found a cracked photo cell, replaced it and it hasn't failed to work since . Cost me $195.00 for the service and $192.00 for the photo cell. Well worth the money. See you in 16 days. Herman
  8. Go on the Weather Channel and look at their average snow fall and temperature. Then do the same for Phenoix and the Texas Valley. My thinking, winter in the valley and summer in Cody. Herman
  9. Ray thanks for the web site. Marina53, be sure to not tare or damage the seal when you remove it. You may need it as a pattern for the new seal material. Have you tried to roll the edge of the seal to see if there are any screws under it? Good luck, Herman
  10. Oneway, You can use some rubber tape to get back home. I got some at Camping World. Then as Bill said go home and contacted your insurance company. Herman
  11. Ray, That's why it's set up that way. When disconnected from the shore the icemaker will still freeze ice but will not eject the ice and refill the tray. If you are moving and fill the tray it will splash out and giving you a solid block of ice. Herman
  12. Ray, Try $1,800,000.00+. One of our members just got one. Herman
  13. Ray, Here is a time where we must agree to disagree. Herman
  14. Lee, Welcome to the Forum. When you remove the outside access panel you will have 2 outlets. One is 110 volts from the inverter and the orher is 110 volts from the shore power. Verify that there is 110volts at each. If you don't have 110 volts on the inverter outlet check your inverter. The shore power outlet is for the icemaker. Herman
  15. Bill, In most cases, if there is no cut out for the Gen. slide then you have to remove the outer mounting screws and the shield will come out mounted to the gen. slide. It shows that you just purchased a 1999 Safari, with only 11K miles, Congratulations. With a unit with that few of miles and the generator with that low of hours I would defiantly do a lot of service if you haven't already done so. Inspect and replace if needed all belts, hoses, filters, have coolant tested, oils, have the transmission serviced and most assuredly the tires. Did the previous owner have any service records? If not then you need to have everything serviced and start you own record. Do you know who the previous owned was? If contact them and get all the information you can. Herman
  16. Jwilliams, I believe what you saw was a unit called a "Park Model". They are designed for extended stay or as cabins in RV Parks. I believe the bath fixtures are standard house hold fixtures with no holding tanks. I may be in error. Herman
  17. Thanks Claudine, and Welcome to the Forum. Herman
  18. Stackables and combo units are both OK. If looking at a MH that you like everything else then the washer wont make a big differance. The one draw back on the combo is the venting. If the dtyer vents to the outside then it is OK, however the ones that recirculate the hot air seems to never dry the clothes. All it does is recirculate hot damp air. Carl is correct about full timing. If we were to go full time then we might consider swapping our combo for a stackable set. Herman
  19. Joe, you could make a transfer hose and connect to a small empty 20 lb. bottle and equalize the pressure. If you have more then 1 empty bottle you can do the same over again till the tank in the coach is empty. Then your tank will be much lighter and may be safely removed. Herman
  20. Carl, A number of years ago when I was with a Boat dealer, the truck I used to pick up boats with had a the light switch to fail several times. It was due to the heavy load put on it when I would tow tandem trailers with lights on both. I did a bit of rewiring and solved the problem. Let us know what you find. When I was a mechanic, at $140.00 per hour it would have taken me a long time to diagnose a problem to. Caching, caching. Herman
  21. Thanks Joe. Did the DW swing back? Herman
  22. MLnDevo, There a many places that have discounts. Escapees is one that come to mind. They are in Livingston, TX and have a good mail forwarding service and also offer discounts on parking at many RV parks. There is Pass Port America that as a member you can receive 50% discount at their member parks. FMCA and Good Sam's discounts at many parks also. State Parks, National parks and as a Retired military you are eligible for RV Parks on Military Bases that are only open to retires military and their guest. When traveling through Texas there many Rest Areas that are well lit and secure for just over night stops. And don't forget WalMart. Many WalMart will allow you to spend the night in their parking lots. We always look for Super WalMart' that are open 24/7. There are a number of places along the Texas Gulf Coast and Rio Grande Valley and in Arizona that have Snow Bird (those that come south for the winter) parks that have bargain rates by the month. So there are lots of places with discounts. Good Luck, Herman
  23. MlnDevo, Welcome to the Forum and to retirement. Thank you for your service. In Texas there are a couple of nice places to shop for a motor home. Motor Homes of Texas, in Nacogdoches. Herman
  24. Michael, Welcome to the Forum and Welcome to Perry. There will be several food vendor on the grounds so you can eat while touring. But if you have a grill be sure and set it up and cook something good. You would be amazed at the many new friends you will attract. Also Perry has many nice restaurants. Send me a PM (personal message) with your location, (parking spot) and I will be glad to be your taste tester. I can also bring a number of fellow tasters. By the way on Thursday the 17th at 5:00 PM in Seminar Room 5 there will be a "Meet the Forum". Many of us have formed friendship here but have never met. Here will a time and place to do so. Come and join. Herman
  25. Bill, What is the make, model and size of a motor home do you have. That would have a lot to do with what you can do. I am not sure I would like to add 300 lbs. to the rear of a Jeep Wrangler and try to tow it. That would make the front end of the Jeep very light and make it prone to wander badly. If it were me and for what you are asking I would look for a full size Pickup. the bed of the truck would hold both scooters without any adverse problems to the towing. Herman
