Joe, I think in 2017 the winter rally is in Chandler Arizona and the summer is in Indianapolis Indiana. Sorry not sure of the dates. We plan on attending both. Herman -
I have been seeing Dell Ads for new PCs and Laptops with Windows 7 Professional with Windows 10 license. At least Dell know 8 and 10 are too difficult to use. Herman

School, There are several thing you may do. First, try calling the Manufacturer of your coach, they should be able to provide the curtain to fit your coach. Second, take your curtain off, find a Drapery Shop close to you and have them make a set using your old curtain as a pattern. Having them made will give you a chance to choose different colors, patterns and black out lining. Herman

Joe, Bill and Carl are talking about the South Central Area aka, Six-State Rally Association's, Rally. The Rally is September 12 to 15, 2016 at the Heart of Oklahoma Expo Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma. There will three nights of entertainment, Seminars, 60 to 70 vendors, Show Coaches and Bill's favorite Ice Cream. We will also have three full Breakfasts. One of the additions to this rally will be CVS Pharmacies giving Flu Shots and hopefully wellness exams. Nightly Activities will include Lee Marvin Adams , on Monday, Chapter Fair Night Tuesday, Grady Nichols on Wednesday and Pamela G and Jackie B on Thursday. Chapter Fair Night is set aside so chapters may have cook outs, happy hours and or just get together. It is a time to invite folks to visit with and possibly join a chapter if they are not members of one. Dancing will be allowed, just bring your own music. My self and other officers plan to visits as many as we can. We are all looking forward to seeing everyone. For a complete and growing list of activities and registration form, go to sca-fmca.com If you have any questions please don't hesitate to send me a PM. Herman -

Sorry we won't be in Mass., but tell folks I said hello. Hope to see you in Shawnee. Herman -
Jim, If your unit is on the Norcold recall list there should never be a inspection charge. If your dealer charged you then I would look for an other dealer. Sorry. Herman

Simple Toad Connections-- New Silverado
hermanmullins replied to JGCUPP's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
JG, Was your Tahoe a 4 X 4 and is your new Silverado a 2 wheel drive? I have towed with both. Silverado 4 X 4 place in 4 wheel neutral put in Park take out the key.(mine didn't have a steering wheel lock). On my 2 wheel drive Silverado I have Drive Shaft in Dallas, Texas install a Remco Drive Shaft Disconnect. With it all I had to do was pull the lever, place the truck in Park and lock the truck. Oh yeah, in both cases I did connect the tow bar, brake, safety cables and lights. I can see one problem with the newer Silverado's, Tahoe's and Suburbans (and their cousins the GMC versions), they put the steering wheel lock back in. On these you still have to leave the key in the Accessory position. If it were mine, just as soon as the warranty ran out I would have a mechanic remove the pin. A simple task that only takes less then an hour. Better yet, teach the DW how to hook up the Truck and have a glass of tea while she does it. Heck your going to do the driving while she just sits there. Man am I going to get a lot of flack for that remark. Love all the DWs out here! Herman -
Welcome home Carl! Herman

Houston Weekend Outing Suggestions Needed
hermanmullins replied to fagnaml's question in Destinations/Attractions
Kemah Boardwalk, NASA, Galveston island. San Jacinto monument. When you go to one you can ask the locals about their areas. When I travelled in my job I spent a lot of time in the area. One of my favorite thing was to just walk the boat docks and look at boats. Herman -
Boy64, Welcome to the Forum. Most roller are extruded aluminum tubes. Most can't be straightened when bent. A bit more information on your coach, make and model. Also make and model of you awning. What you might do is try looking for an RV RV salvage company in your area andfind a used roller. Good luck, Herman

I found a Winegard Traveler (SK 1000) on Amazon for $1,205.00 Plus tax and free shipping. I got mine through Winegard at a special price since Winegard Road Track and Dish Network were no longer compatible. It is a very easy unit to operate. Push the power button till message read Winegrad Trav'ler Power ON . It goes and does it's thing and it is one. less then 2 minutes. If you go to Winegard ask them if they have any SK 1000 re-manufactured units. They come with a 1 year parts and labor warranty. The new one comes with a 2 year parts and 1 year labor warranty. I oped for the reman. and I swear it is a brand new unit. Herman

I did the same thing to our coach. I was fortunate that our toilet seal held and it came out the vent stack. When those pieces of undesolved toilet paper dry on the roof they are hard to remove to say the least. Herman

Mike, Now you are really telling your age "Slide Rule". I can remember engineering majors on campus with their leather holder hanging from their belts. What the slide rule could do then, your cell phone or pocket calculator can do now, faster and more accurate. Herman

Msawicki, Since you have the unit taken apart take the bracket to your local welding shop/fabricator. Ask if they can weld the bracket. It may be pot metal, cast iron or cast steel. Cast steel would be the only one that may be successfully welded. Also being a bracket, maybe a new and better one could be fabricated. Can't help to try and maybe saving $1300.00. Herman

Rich, Thanks, I understand the two legs, just didn't know about the two inverters. Herman

Wayne, I have sent you a PM. Herman

Brett, I understand the difference between house and RV electrical. Don't some of the newer Motor Homes have some 220 volt circuits? It seems that somewhere I heard or read some do. Am I wrong? Herman

I prefer Jeff Foxworthy's comments on his wife and maps. He said, "that giving his wife a map was equal to giving a monkey a math problem". He also said, "come on tell me which way to go we are coming to a turn where his wife said, 'Take a left on the Blue Road for one inch and turn right on the Red One". Herman

Mike, I measured my compartment door for my Fuel. It is 31" tall. It opens to 120%. The door latches with slip pins, one one each side. The lift strut connects to the bracket for the latch on both sides and to the door 5" down from the hinge. I made a mistake on the measurement on my struts. On the fuel compartment doors they are 27" struts, sorry I was not able to read the poundage on it. As i said before, on my Monaco the doors under the slides have a removable chain that holds the doors to 90%. However when the chain is disconnected to door will swing up to 120%. Hope this helps. Freightliner Parking Brake Warning Light/Alarm Stays On
hermanmullins replied to jodan0586's topic in Type A motorhomes
Jordan, This may sound way off the wall, but how is the coolant level in your radiator? Had the same issue with our coach and found it to be coolant level. Yours probably is in the wiring but just wanted to pass on how my issue was solved. Herman -
