  1. The battery bank should be connected to alternator via a solenoid that is engaged when in run mode
  2. To do it correctly it has to carry the total load so with my house 200amp or you need to add second panel with all the circuits you want to supply power to with a breaker in main panel to ATS then second panel
  3. To do the job with auto change over needs all above plus a second breaker panel to feed the circuits that are to be fed by the generator with 100 amp two pole breaker in main panel to feed transfer switch and new panel as most of your home needs to be isolated from generator
  4. The ground and the neutral are connected to the body of the breaker panel so joined so the neutral is not completely disconnected with an ATS

We just had power grid upgrades and power off Saturday 9am to 5pm then Sunday 9am to 3pm I turned all my breakers off including main ran patch cord to the range plug I have in the garage tied both legs together and only turned on what I needed paying attention to the fact I am using a 10gauge cord so fridge freezer and coffee

    We have a broom closet in the bathroom with cupboard on top and one on bottom We took the door off the bottom one and made a custom box to go in Cut a cat door in the bathroom door and all is good

  13. Hard start capacitors are for low voltage and help start not run only run one unit at a time as they do not help running amperage
