Roger, 100 percent with you on messing with tire pressures. However I purchased the flow through because we live on the Gulf Coast with temperatures in the 90+? range and when we take our trip out west and up the 101 there can be a 40-50 degree temperature change or more. I'll reset one time on the Left Coast and then when we return to the warmer climes I again reset. Basically twice a year. They also allow me to make sure the monitor is reporting correctly by using a digital tire gauge, one you recommended on another thread. (Nope, don't have a calibrated one - yet!) p.s., please don't post pictures of that white stuff. I sit here and shiver. Last two days we had the air conditioning on here at the S&B, but today is just keep the doors closed and maintain a nice comfortable 72-73 degrees in the house without AC or heat. Come on down!

I realize that many have traveled with the braided tire extensions with no problems. However, they did cause me to have to replace two tires when one of them leaked. The leak was not at the valve stem but instead at the crimp where the braid entered the metal. The were installed "professionally." Got ride of them immediately and went to the Dually Valve system. Never looked back.

In retrospect, any TPMS system is worth the investment as far as I'm concerned. Get ready to move, turn on monitor and start tear down of sewer, etc., check monitor and if pressures are not where I want them I add or take out air. Without TPMS one can check the tires before they move but who knows that a nail or something causes a slow leak just after leaving a campground. With the TPMS set correctly it will immediately notify the driver if a pressure falls below set point. Pull over, inspect, call for service if needed saving the other dual if it is a rear tire.

Yes, and easily so. They even send you some extra screws just in case you loose one. I got the Flo Thru for the RV but my vogue tire rims would have them sticking out to far so I got the non-Flo Thru for the TOAD. After about a year I had to replace batteries in one Flo Thru. Next time one goes dead I'll replace all the batteries just for 'cause. The Flow Thru have set screws to anchor to the stem on the RV. In conversation with TST they are not needed but for security and peace of mind they are there. The non-Flo Thru just screw on but the anti-theft is that the outer shell spins if trying to take them off. There is a tool for removing the spinning ones. The outer shell can be removed for a smaller foot print and then can be taken off by hand..

I'm surprised at the Pressure Pro pricing as the competitor, TST, has a set with 10 flow thru valves at a couple hundred dollars cheaper even with an extra extended warranty. I really like the Flow Thru valves as it is so much easier to increase or decrease pressure as needed.

I usually call ahead a day or so to see if they have availability. They usually will tell you how many sites they have open or if they are full-up. Of course, things change when you get there. We have had extremely good luck staying at the military fam-camps. Where are you heading to? Are you trying to get out of the cold for the Winter?

Some of those vent hood light fixtures are just held up there with spring clips. Grasping the outside edges and pulling down will lower the fixture and then squeezing the springs in will release it from the hood and it will dangle by the wires. This would give you more room to work if your fixtures are held in that way.

Been there done that. Turn off switches. Use a pair of needle nose pliers. With the pliers closed stick the nose into the socket. Use both hands and spread the nose open and twist. Other way is to use pliers and just grab the lip of the metal screw in part and bend it inward. do this until you can get a grip on it and twist. That's my way.

You really have to check with the installation. Example: A few years ago the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station opened up its MWR facilities to civilians. I believe there was a yearly fee and once you were registered you could use the (certain) facilities. It has been awhile since we have been to Corpus so better check before just showing up. I think that the American Legions, DAV, and VFW and other veteran facilities usually require that those using the facility belong to that individual group. Again, it is wise to call and check. Each can have their own set of regulations/rules.

Wow, Roger hit it on the head. On our last trip out west I turned on the TST monitor and had a zero reading. Expecting that the battery went dead I purchased a battery and then took off the monitor. when i did the valve stem of the tire just hissed. I put the valve cap back on quickly to stop it. Okay so not I have to check the air pressure before we leave so I took the valve cap off and checked and it was 10 or so pounds under "my" inflation pressure. I re-inflated to several pounds over "my" pressure and quickly put the valve cap back on. Went to a tire dealer and they used their tool to re-seat the valve stem. When he was finished luck was on my side as when we checked the pressure it was exactly at "my" pressure. The only thing that kept the original valve stem from leaking was the TST tire pressure monitor with a valve stem on it.

I have the TST system with two monitors. In the RV it monitors all 10 tires, RV and Toad. Shut it off when at camp site. In toad I have a separate TST monitor and the built in tire monitor. The built in only monitors "Low Pressure," so the TST gives me specific pressures. Works for me.

I have read that black is better for keeping out UV and heat, believe it or not. I'll try to find the article. Search on "black or white to block uv on rv tires" without the quotes for lots of information. My covers are white with a felt backing so UV will not get through. Also the ADCO covers are treated for UV but how long that will last I don't know.

It is way better to be safe than sorry.

Yes, but if they called you they could be in a phone booth. Hey, remember them. I passed buy one in a KOA campground this past summer. Surprised me. I have a pay phone out in the shed, bright yellow. I wired it so you just have to plug it into a jack and it will work. Was quite a conversation piece in the house for years....but I think it is going into yard sale. I see your signature, but not using chrome.

Got more exercise also as having to walk into the other room to answer the phone.
