Our Holiday Travel Misadventure-- So Far

Personally, I'd disconnect and find a propane dealer near me. I'd leave the TOAD at the campsite. -

Carl, send me information and details on what you have, please. -
Rather confusing to say the least. Friend for North Foreign Land rented a storage place in Texas. When he backed in the front of his 45" stuck out about 8 or so inches. Could not close the door. Had the ladder not been there it might have been okay. Also, the owner of the facility was there and it was supposed to hold a 45' coach. Guess they didn't take into consideration the structural metal beams. Bad architect for sure.

Isn't the MAX Length for a MH on the roads, 45 feet?

Wow! I can imagine how scary that was. Does you progressive insurance give you hotel/motel money for stays like this> Also, did the driver of the trailer stop and exchange insurance. If so, and since it was his fault (I'm assuming) his insurance will have to pay for all you expenses. At least that is the way my insurance works. My 2008 Winni had a bay door and panel damaged by an unmovable object (don't ask!) and Earlene made it stay that way for a couple years. The price for just the door was $2500, then there was going to be the labor of taking the old door off and putting the new one on. I left it that way as she directed, after all, who wears the pants anyhow. About 2 years later I had enough and there was a body repair next to my RV Repair place. I asked them to take a look and give me a price. When they gave me the price I said "Fix it!" Cost was a total of $1200 straightening out the aluminum door and panel and painting. They did a great job. That's up the road from y'all in Dickinson, TX If'n you don't find a place nearby.

Absolutely not offended. Thank you.

Not a lot of rain fall comes straight down and then factor in wind. It can get under the toppers if rain is slanted towards the side of the topper or wind blows the rain under the topper. As stated, tilting the coach, which is recommended by my Mfg, can alleviate the rain collection on the topper. For under the topper it may be necessary to elevate front or back of coach/RV to get the rain to roll of from under the topper. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Virginia Civil War Battlefields
wayne77590 replied to txtiger's question in Destinations/Attractions
Carl, I'm at home base in Texas City. Sometime after the 1st of the year I'm finally going to get the left knee replaced. Already had both ACL's reconstructed, right knee replaced, both rotator cuffs repaired and it is time for the left knee to be replaced. I have been putting it off for years but just recently has become unbearable. I put it off because I did not want the down time of PT, but alas, it is necessary. Joe, long before I met you on this forum we were at Gettysburg area 4 times. First was Lancaster and last 3 were Artillery Ridge CG in Gettysburg. I am astonished each time I go there with the history of it all. I picture Blue and Grey standing 50 yards away from each other firing musket balls at each other not knowing where they will hit because of their erratic trajectory. Largest losses of a war in U.S. History. Over 620,000 casualties. Visited Intercourse once. Love Intercourse. -
Give your friends a Semper Fi for me. I did the Nam tour, 68-69.

Virginia Civil War Battlefields

Love the Gettysburg area. Today I just found this video on the Civil War and the battlefields.org web site. It is shame that our children of today are not taught the history we once learned. -
Welcome, I'm Wayne.

Gas station smartphone apps and cybersecurity

My CC service issues a different number to me and my wife tied to the same account. If my card is compromised, credit payment use on it is cancelled. We still use her card for transactions without a loss of time waiting for another credit card. The CC service sends me another card and life goes on for both of us. Guess it is which CC service you use that might be the best. Mine is with one of the largest Federal CU's in the Nation with $110.2 billion in assets. I have Apple Pay. A random number is used, not the CC#. So far no indication of a compromise anywhere by anyone using Apple Pay. You CC# is never seen by the merchant and a random token or number is used. Apple does not story the CC# either. In 1984-85 Exon Mobil had the little dongle smart chip. Pull up to an Exxon/Mobile pump, hold the dongle next to the pump and the start pumping. I stopped using it when there prices locally were higher than other stations. -

Not only wax, but clear coat also after continual use. Great grease cutter. -
Dim TOAD lights through diode harness
wayne77590 replied to griffin3's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
A diode is reliant on its forward threshold voltage. If the voltage does not reach that the minimum voltage of the diode that is required, it will not function properly. Battery voltage level down can affect the output. There could be something causing a voltage drop at the anode and that would cause dim lights. Start checking voltage, first without the diode(s) inline and then with the diode(s) inline to see if there is a voltage drop at the anode. I'd even go so far as to install one diode at a time and check voltage. The diode is nothing more that a one way switch. It keeps the voltage from feeding back into the system. -

I have a 2500 psi gas one here at the S&B I used it only once on the coach and a few times on the TOAD. Most all come with different nozzles. Mine has two tanks for solutions and in order for the solution to come out of the nozzle it has to be the "black" one which is the lowest pressure one. Even then I kept the nozzle end 4-5 feet away from the coach or TOAD. Worked fine - but I was not comfortble using it. Most mobile RV wash people use one for cleaning and I have had mine done several times over the years with no problems. The key is, keep your distance, even with a water hose. Not a lot of pressure is needed to rinse a vehicle. Even with a pressure washer some time of cloth or brush is needed on the RV to get the dirt off. Just pressure alone will not do it and considering that I prefer "Wash Wax All" water-less wash. Does a great job. -
S&B - Sticks and Bricks (refers to house)

I've used it a few times - don't remember exactly where. Must have been another forum - oh well - use it if you like. I'm sure Linda agrees with the context.

Thanks, and will keep it in mind. Right now it is puppy training time and until she has her final shots she can't really go anywhere. Also, sometime after January 4, date to be determined, I'm finally going to get my left knee replaced so I'll be down with PT 3 times a week for about 8 weeks - itchin' to go RV'ing. Oh oh! I think this thread has been Hi-jacked. Sorry RevRichard, Doc. Thank you for your service and a Merry Christmas to you and all your family and friends.

MFPointer, you may want to ask the moderator(s) to shorten your user id to just MFPointer. This is an open forum and anyone can read it, harvest the email and use it. What does your manual say for the sequence to level the coach. One side first, front first, rear first? I would think that there would be some type of safety margin when leveling and it is out of level that much. I have heard others state that they cracked windshields when leveling. I would like to know the name and location of that CG so I can avoid it.
