  1. Well, I just figure that the 450 horses are producing enough noise that anyone walking buy would be aware of 47000+ pounds coming at them. HOWEVER: here is a scenario. Child riding a bike comes in on your blind side, stops behind the MH to tie a shoe or whatever. Consequences of backing up could have life effects. Please, Heaven forbid. Always great to have a spotter or a darn good back-up camera.
  2. JIm, he just doesn't understand. Maybe I can help. Little quips in posts are okay but you have to intersperse the original topic inside the post...like this: I store mine in a storage facility that is covered top only. It's about $150 a month and has 110V electric. Can't run much off of 110 but it keeps the inverter going and therefore keeps the batteries charged. We also visit it periodically to give it a check over. Every once in a while, with time being when we think of it, I'll take it out for a 20-25 mile run and exercise everything. -------- See! Brett's not mad at me now.
  3. We live on the Gulf Coast of Texas so stop in and say hi. Welcome to the forum. Consider editing your profile and entering you rig, toad and anything else that may help in future posts on fixing something we all hope never breaks.
  4. I thought it was entertaining - therefore my post. Storing NE of Dallas you will need a burner in the shed to keep the freeze off. Storing here in this area you will not have to worry about freezing, but maybe just overnight for a little while. You get used to the humidity. Sweat keeps you cool.
  5. Yep! Heard them once in a while. Glad my rig doesn't have that.
  6. All very good suggestions and your original info was also usable. I don't use the eight foot mark as described in the video. When we pull up and unhook, I check the surroundings and where I want to back into and I will use the "lazy S" method. I adjust my mirrors and pull forward until my rear wheels are at the edge of the site. then I start the turn away from the site and in the middle of the road I start my turn forward. Now just start cutting the wheel and backing in. Remember: G.O.A.L - Get Out And Look Never back up unless you have to Use your mirrors. Just before backing use your horn (You cannot see directly behind you) I'll bet there are a lot of other good ideas out there. Search for some videos on backing up an RV. Best thing is to use a spotter.
  7. Highway 646 is the section we are talking about in the Dickinson TX area. The highway runs from FM 2004, South of Alta Loma, across SH-146 and over to Bayshore DR. San Leon, TX . The area around I-45 and 646 is heavily built up and continues to grow.
  8. Carl, 646 is where my unit is and they did have a break-in a year or two back. Since have upgraded their camera system.
  9. When we are out and about we like to look at the private campgrounds that abound the area. Typically I will stop at the office and ask if I can ride through. On occasion I just ride through, especially if the office is not "readily" accessible. Once the CG office is closed, and if there is not gate available, anyone can roam the area looking for goodies. I don't have "indoor" storage but I do have covered storage with 110v available and used. I am looking into obtaining a security system that will not only protect it and notify me when it is in storage but when we are in CG's as well. One that I'm looking into is JAQX. If anyone has information on any system I would appreciate it. Having indoor storage would be more secure for a couple reasons. 1., out of sight, out of mind. 2., good quality lock on door. Indoor storage is also not "really" secure. With all the hand-held tools available today, battery operated, a door could be made in the flimsy door of the storage unit. Still, out of sight out of mind is nice.
  10. It's 2 a.m. and the drive-by conversation goes: "Hey bud, look at that nice MH parked there. I'll bet it has some nice electronics in it." "Yeah, let's go look inside." The rest you can imagine. Another deterrent is an alarm system that makes a lot of noise. There are a lot of very nice safe neighborhoods in our wonderful country. Just not safe for when people are just driving through. Even at campgrounds, it's not the campers I think about, but the drive-through on-lookers that see something they think they want or can sell. My MH is in a storage facility that has cameras all over the place and they are the very good color quality cameras. So far so good, but at the far end with nothing but some vacant fields and on a nice evening - perpetrators cut the fence and ransacked several motor homes and stealing TV's and other electronics. "It" happens.
  11. A friend has a service dog, a Pit Bull. Gentle as can be with other dogs and humans. It is a registered "Dual" person service dog. Takes care of him and his SO.
  12. Keon, when you're hot, you're hot! I also had a chuckle when I read that and just knew where it was going, and fast. Speck, You are very very lucky. That could have turned mean real quick. Did you go buy a lottery ticket?

I live in Texas City and I use La Porte Tire Center. They are also a Dually Valve dealer if you have any tire valve stems that are hard to get to the Dually Valve stems are great.
  14. My only luck was on the Winnebago resource site and the wiring diagram. My thought now is to call Winnebago, have your serial number of the MH ready and ask them where the fuse is. I have had good luck with their phone hep service. Please let us know when you find it. I just may need that information some day. Wish I could have been of more help. It's possible that it is tied into the radio circuit but I would not think that would be the way to do it. 2013 wiring
  15. We purchased ours at Texas RV Outlet in Willow Park. As stated there are a lot of RV dealers in Texas - but I'm sure there are in other states also. Check rvtrader.com or rvt.com - look at floor plans of the many RV's for sale and other accessories that you would like. I would rather buy from a dealer than a private individual.
  16. I have never run into that problem at any of the truck stops. However, those were the truck stops that one had to go in, leave card, go out pump fuel, go back in, get receipt, go out, travel. Loves - go in and tell them $300 and pump $300. I called our CC company and they said they have no rules on fuel purchases and that the card can be used up to the limit it is set for. Call you CC, just 'cause I'd like to know. I use Visa.
  17. Come on! Look at the thread title. There is only one brand of 2013 42qd. Take a look at my signature. RVPage, I don't have my coach at the house but give me some time and I'll see if I can find it in the manual. Most likely my year model will have it in the same location.

  19. We have traveled extensively in 46 of the 48 contiguous States, both in the 40' and now it the 43' MH and we have never been refused service in the truck lanes. As for the $75 dollar rule, that is the normal at all fuel stations using the "car" lanes and it is the service station policy and not the credit card company(ies). There is no such rule at the truck pumps.
  20. You can print out the card on the https://www.fmca.com/fmcassist.html FMCASSIST web site.
