  1. Are you sure it's burnt rubber smell or new rubber smell. If you ever walked into a tire warehouse you will know what I'm talking about.
  2. Thanks Carl, Herman and jleamont, The DW decides if we travel as I'm only the driver. I have to replace the Aladdin monitor as it started blacking out again. Got a led one coming to replace the Weldex CRT type. I may like it better.
  3. If I really want to pay it off it's already listed below market. I'm not giving it away. I'll drive it off a boat ramp before I do that.
  4. No sale on the coach as it is 10 year old and nobody trust it. We are stuck with it so we will start using it. Problem is we sold the toad so have to think which vehicle to tow.
  5. Most GPS have them built in and you can enter them as along the route.
  6. I did something similar when I install my coach floor last summer.
  7. I would walk away from that as it has the problem 4 bagger trailing arms.
  8. I used wasted space in that area for sewers hoses, fittings and gutter racks to keep them straight. Search pictures in my profile.
  9. Press the Mode button until it reads LP or Auto. Problem solved
  10. Carl The power probe is a DC electronic circuit tester with long leads that hooks to either the battery (outside) or power outlet (inside). I hardly ever use the old test light anymore but still use the fluke meter. We haven't sold the coach yet as the market is being tough on us. Perfect coach in perfect shape with tire kickers coming around but no takers. Very frustrating as the start of the season has passed.
  11. When the power probe came out it didn't take me long to get one. I wouldn't leave home without it now.
  12. Yes if power washed near that outside vent the mist can get in and trip the recall box. Once the air is cleared I reset it with a magnet. No other problems with it.
  13. Regardless of 120 volts or propane the fans are control by temperature not what source the fridge is using. One example is Palm Springs, CA is 120 F in the shade today. Imagine how hot it gets behind the wall and the box on those days. The fans will turn on weather you are dry camping or not. I dry camped at Coos Bay, OR last summer (not quite as hot) and the fan did run quite often during the day but not so much at night. The fridge for us worked quite well as the setting had to be set at six instead of nine. That is why I recommended service and will not hurt if not serviced in quite some times.
  14. The 12 volts don't diff from a/c or dc volts but by temperature of 130 degrees on and 115 off. If the fans don't come on while using propane its more likely that the propane part of the fridge needs service.
  15. Got a message from Sherry that the problem turned out to be the ignition relay. Glad that it is fixed and we did not lead astray.
  16. My alternator on my coach went out last December and since I had extended warranty I had Freightliner replace it. It got replaced with a new on very similar then yours 160 amps but I wasn't satisfied. When I took it to Freightliner I told them BAD ALTERNATOR. They had to check the battery connection they serviced a month before the sensing wiring and other garbage. After 4 hours of labor charged to the invoice they came to the same conclusion as I took it in for "BAD ALTERNATOR". It also caused delays as it took over 24 hours to replace a alternator they had in stock. Then the warranty company would only pay normal labor to replace the alternator not to play around with the wires and I don't blame them. They ran the bill up to $1100 and the warranty company would pay $650. With the deductible $850 is the maximum the bill should of been. I of course had to pay the balance. BTW the wires to my alternator on the back was easy to get to with some leaning over through the inside hatch. The connector nuts were very corroded. When it came time to replace the exhaust manifold gaskets, I did them myself as I lost trust in that chassis shop.
  17. It is one of the best idea I found. I said found because many ideas are a spin off of many ideas in use.
  18. Sherry I believe you will be looking for a relay more so than a solenoid. Check the definition below and you may find that the only solenoid on the coach is on the starter. All the rest are relays even the big round shiny ones, Like I said before you could have a circuit breaker tripped by the batteries. A test light is you friend in when checking for a dead circuit. What are the differences between a relay and solenoid? - Quora https://www.quora.com/What-are-the-differences-between-a-relay-... Quora When energized, both get magnetized and give some mechanical movement. In a relay, this mechanical movement is used to turn on/off a switch contacts while in a solenoid, the mechanical movement is used for some other work like opening / closing a door etc.
  19. Bill I bet those bicycle rides up those steep grades kept you healthy. I don't know how anyone can mountain bike as I get tire on flat land. If those rides down the grade was without brakes it would be fast and scary.
  20. I use 3/4" plywood cut 2 feet by 2 feel and put two under each jack. That works very well on wet grass and sand. You only need one sheet of plywood and if you get at Lowes they will cut it for you for free.
  21. Bill that is the coach in my signature pulling my 2006 Jeep Liberty. We were very loaded as we were heading south for the winter. It was a very steep climb and the fellow that was going slow may be more loaded or have other issues. My coach was performing well.
  22. Wayne that camera is called a black box that I brought online about 4 years ago that is obsolete. Cobra makes one that sells for $100 in Costco. I have just in case as I had brake check from a few idiots that don't want to share the road with slower motor coach. Blake I posted on YouTube then share the link to many. Took 100 minutes to upload 5 minute video with my .35 mbs upload internet connection.
  23. This is climbing the Siskiyou Pass in Oregon
  24. Herman is the man that knows what he is talking about. I went with Essex when I got my coach and they had the best rate but takes longer to get.
