  1. I carry two Mountain Bikes on the rear of my towed Jeep Wrangler quite often! I us a carrier made by Swagmann and sold at camping world called a XC 2-Bike Rack. It fits into the 2 inch receiver on my Jeep and holds the bikes by the wheels rather than by the upper bar that most carriers use. I also use the same carrier on the rear of the motorhome at times. On the Jeep, you will need to use a 12 - 14 inch hitch extender to clear the spare tire. Didn't have to do this on the Grand Cherokee that we had before the Wrangler. For what it's worth, Both Thule and Yakima recommend against using their carriers on the rear of motorhomes, as well as towed vehicles!
  2. For your input to the process, I personally would not purchase a vehicle to tow that: Had to have the ignition key turned to accessory or needed fuses to be pulled or had to be towed at a speed slower than the speed limit on interstate highways or had to be cranked every several hours or required a driveline disconnect!
  3. This is not legal advice, but I do know that there are certain narcotics which federal law will not allow for prescriptions to have refills and new prescriptions may not be mailed, but must be picked up in the doctors office. I suspect that oxycodone (Percocet) is one of them. I do know that I have had no problems getting new prescriptions for my blood pressure and cholesterol medicines when I am away from my doctor's location in another state.
  4. If your inverter is a Modified Sine Wave inverter instead of a pure sine wave inverter, it can easily destroy a coffee maker if the coffee maker has any electronics in it, such as a timer for starting it or stopping it. I destroyed two coffee makers that way before I found out the cause. Our coach came with a 2k Xantrex MSW inverter. We could not use digital clocks on inverter, and the microwave had a strange hum when on inverter. When we dumped our Norcold refer for a Whirlpool Residential Refer, we changed out the Xantrex for a 2800 Magnum pure sine inverter. No more clock issues and the microwave sounds just like it does on shore power. OBTW, 117 Volts is no problem at all. Our Energy Management System does not shut down power unless it is below 104 volts or above 132 volts. Most A/C appliances are built to a 115V design point.
  5. If you don't mind KOA's there is one just east of Oklahoma City and another near Lake Eufaula, about 100 miles east of OK City. We have used both of them, either going to or returning from Amarillo.
  6. We have a Kingdome and a Trav'ler. The coach came with the Dome, we added the Trav'ler later. I have only had 1 instance in the last year when I couldn't get a signal on the Trav'ler. We only use the dome when winds are so high that I fear for the dish. (Like 50 mph winds at the KOA in Albuquerque).
  7. Roof is much easier to deal with, especially when traveling with one night stops!
  8. I think that I would have a conversation with the Ford Dealer, or maybe higher over this!
  9. Gary, If you haven't already resolved this issue, go to http://www.tiffinrvnetwork.com and post a similar question, mention that you have a 32 ft Breeze. You'll get more information there than you would think possible! I suspect that you don't want to put a lift on the back of a Breeze.
  10. We had this issue, in fact the DTV receiver would get so hot that it would shut itself off until it cooled down. Our entertainment cabinet is on the side of the coach, over the passenger front seat. This problem was greatest when the afternoon sun is shining on the passenger side of the coach. Our solution was to install a 5 inch cabinet fan with a thermostat in the side of the cabinet. There are vent slits in the front so we get good air flow. The fan comes on at 86 degrees and goes off at 80 degrees. Works great, so far. OBTW, we swapped our 6 year old DTV DVR receiver for a brand new one. The heat generated by the new one seems to be much less than the old one.
  11. I would do the Invisabrake too if I didn't already have a 7 year old Brake Buddy which still works. It takes maybe 2 minutes to put in and get working. 30 seconds to get out, so I don't need to spend a bunch of money to get a new brake system!
  12. 2012 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, Blue Ox Tow Bar and Baseplate, Brake Buddy braking system. (3rd toad with the Brake Buddy)
  13. I am never in such a hurry when driving my coach that I will use a toll road!
  14. +1, We stayed there in a 40 footer. It is not a resort campground, but you are going for the canyon, not a swimming pool!
  15. I find that what works best for us is to pull into a Pilot or Flying J truck lane, swipe the card for pump start, pump the fuel and then go inside and pay. The discounts happen automatically, both getting the cash price on the CC and the .03/ gallon. No problem having to restart the pump at a predetermined limit. I never use the RV lanes unless I need propane. I realize that folks who drive gassers can't do that, but it works for me.
  16. If you want a king sized bed, you are much more likely to get one in a 40 footer than a 33 footer!
  17. Good luck with that at 70-72 MPH towing a 4K Toad.
  18. +1, Mine is a 2012. Easiest Toad to set-up that I have owned, and the other three were Jeeps, too. I will say that My 07 Grand Cherokee was pretty easy also.

    Staying Logged In

It seems to be logging me off again!
  20. I am towing a 2012 Wrangler Rubicon and use the Blue Ox Bar. This is the second Jeep that I have used this bar on, and I am very pleased with it. I just had to get a new baseplate and get the lights wired, and I was good to go. The lights are wired to use the Jeeps bulbs, and no problems so far. My prior Grand Cherokee was wired the same way. I use a Brake Buddy as an auxiliary braking system. This is the third Jeep that I have used it on, no complaints.
  21. If you go to the Four Corners area, be sure an visit Canyon De Chelly, Monument Valley, and Mesa Verde.
  22. I've towed three computerized Jeeps, a 2005 Liberty, a 2007 Grand Cherokee, and now a 2012 Wrangler. None of them needed any computer updates to be towed. The only thing that I can think of that the programming change might (and I'm not sure that this is even possible, especially with the ignition off) do is cause the odometer to accumulate miles while towing, not a good thing as far a I am concerned. Sounds like your dealer might be trying to maximize his profit.
  23. Good decision. I have been very happy with Blue Ox for the tow bar and Brake Buddy for the brakes.
