  1. Thankfully, interior heat in coach is not from engine, it's from "Modern day", big windows! In toad, I have a lot of road noise, at anything over 50 mph! When I'm off road, it never happens. I don't do the Baja 500 or 1,000 anymore...leave that to younger kidneys!
  2. Either that, or it's like Galveston...too many old families, that don't want any more changes, done to their Island ! The families are: Fertitta, Moody, Kempner, Sealy and Mitchell. Between them, it don't leave much in money and power to rest of us American's!
  3. Joe. Have decided to try some in my door panels. Might cut enough noise in Jeep to hear myself think!
  4. There's 3 in San Antonio, that I know off...PM Wayne. Also one at the Navel Base in Corpus Christi.
  5. Richard. Looking good. A true work in progress and it should help with the wintertime blah's! Keep posting, please!
  6. Kay. I guess the first thing's to ask, is there a zoning ordinance in place, where on the coast (what State), infrastructure of area and attractions, and elevation above mean high tide? We have a friend, widow lady, who did not want a big coach anymore so she got a Casita (14 foot TT) and joined the International Club. They have rally's all over the US, Canada. The last one in Texas, was at a Campground in Bellville, that caters to them. They have 220 drive thru spaces and accommodates 440 Casita's! They are booked full, thru 2020 currently!!! The Casita comes in 13' to 17'. Airstream is another and so is Class B as you mentioned. There are a lot of different pull behinds in the 12' to 20' range out there! I have a friend in NC, that own 3 parks, he's only got one major problem right now on a RV Park, outside of Ashville, NC, he's in the middle of a Lawsuit, that was filed on him by Tiny homes! He's got no objection to them coming in, for up to a year if they want. Problem is that they don't feel, that they should have to pay for more, than utilities and at max $10 a day for the space! It's some obscure 100+ year old law, that was not taken off the books, when the last covered wagon came thru! It's Federal. It's costing Fred a fortune so far! That's the con part of your thinking.
  7. With Fiat/Daimler, nothing is 100% ! I just feel you have a better chance with a Wrangler!
  8. When she get's her hands on him, he's going to wish he went down with the coach!
  9. Naww, not sure about that. DW just want to make sure your paying attention! She probably feels cabin fever, like you! Tomorrow am, this coach is heading East, right behind Wayne...if he leaves after 10am, it might be!!!
  10. Jim S. Yeah, like having Motel stays to shower and stretch out on a long 10K+, 3 month trip, or finding a RV park with clean RR & Shower facilities. That would make me feel like a Castaway! Oh, Well...Different strokes.
  11. Why? Are you Lost? You have come up with several dozen heading's, since last July...this is by far, the most loony! I can only guess, that it pertains to those who full time, in witch case it dose not pertain to General Discussion! When your dealt a hand of Lemons....Lag Citrone Safte!!!
  12. Herman. Makes sense to me, Catch 22! ktconners. From what I have read and been told by FMCA, hate to be crude, don't hold your breath! April to July, to ???
  13. Joe. My 450DH is 140 pounds empty, 185 full. 12x18.5x28.5 !
  14. Same principle, same maintenance. Oasis = less expensive maintenance, smaller and lighter.. 14x14x26 at 26 pounds, self contained, 55K BTU, cheaper replacement cost. There are 2 other heathers like AH & Oasis. Webasco and Hurricane.
  15. Jim S. Just do it. When your out on the road or in a campground, it gets plenty of workout, by washing dishes or body. I wash dishes on electric side and take my showers on Diesel side. Off course this past December and January...the furnace was on 7 out of 8 weeks! Had my annual service 1/26/18, along with engine and generator..next year I get to add Allison and brakes and...
  16. Sorry John, down here, we call that certifiable and dumb. Especially in a Wintertime Nor'easter! Give your son, when he defrost, our thanks for his Service!
  17. Even with my set up, if dry camping and on inverter, the generator will turn on when batteries run down and recharge them...As long as I have useable fuel. 1/4 tank or more!
  18. Nan. Your rig has a generator, charger and converter...the converter gives out 12V DC to run your Furnace Fan, Water Pump and all internal Lights. The charger is 120V AC for your Microwave, Batteries for house, TV , fridge...This is per the wiring diagram for a 2007 FR Sunseeker, Class C, 2600 (26 foot)!
  19. Joe S. It happens all the time. Tires are ordered by the chassis builder and put on prior to shipment to coach manufacturer, then you get coach...It's up to the buyer to be aware! Do you check DOT when you buy a new car, or that trailer you got, or the trike?
  20. 19jcm79. Welcome to the FMCA Forum. As you can see by my post above. I have Michelins now, 8 of them, I run 315/80R/22,5 in front. The rest are 295/80R. I will be getting new tires again, in 2020 and they will be Goodrich, by Michelin. Less expensive, they're not paying for all the advertisement, so less over head and they are just as good, as the one's I have now! Safty is number 1 consideration, when your pushing 56,000 pounds down the Highway.
  21. We depart Saturday also, for Paterson, LA., with a short stop in Kaplan, LA. Here in Burnet, TX. the front is coming thru with 25/35 mph and a lot of rain..went from 68 to current 44 in about an hour and feels to me, darn cold. It will be in NE in a couple of days! With the offshore low on East Coast, I hope this won't be another "Perfect Storm"!
  22. And the beat goes on! The last 2 years, has been nothing short of Confusing!!!
  23. Joe. Good grief! I'll take the case with the 3 pistols, including the pistols!
  24. Brett. Had to go back to August 2017. She has a 26 foot, Class C, Forest River. I will presume that it came with a Onen 2.5 0r 4 KW generator!
