  1. Do you get any $$$ back, from what you bring in?
  2. Have you been able to isolate anything yet? Or are you trying to get inverter rebuilt or replaced? Hate to mention this, but your still going to blow the inverter unless you resolve the ground issue. I personally would go back to what you had before! Carl
  3. Roland. sorry to hear the sad news, wish them both better health in the future! All I know about that area is that the Amish take great pride in their work! That's the first thing I would look for! The only one I would trust with my floor is Ernie, but your not saying what kind you want...I understand that your going thru a bad time right now and you have a lot on your mind, along with disappointment. A little more information would help the others, help you! Carl
  4. Marc. Your correct. It's not how we get there, it's the journey! Enjoy it.
  5. Bill, your eating habit's and where you eat, has become famous... I'm with BillA on this one! anything that does not fit in a 5 gallon bucket, with lid, I'm at a loss, when it comes to 8 gallons +! Brett does it himself, but then how does he dispose of it? Carl
  6. Like everything else...Liquid, sand or rice! I try to go in for service, with the intention to fill up with fuel after.
  7. Sorry to say this. If you want access to everything, inside and out, while your on the road? Get a coach without slides! The coach of today, come with 3 or 4 slides...your coach is 101.5 or 102 inches wide on exterior and an average of 98 inches interior...you do the math! You can't have it both ways. I find that I get less dirt and grime on the back off coach, better air flow with a side radiator. As far as keeping the radiator and CAC clean, rear is easier. Getting at engine for service, then side is more cost effective. As for the original question. I would go with the Newmar Vantana, 40 foot. My significant other want's a new DP, pre Chandler Rally, she was looking at a 45 foot bath and a half with 4 slide coach...she currently has a 40 foot DP 3 slide Tiffin. She fell in love with everything the Vantana had to offer in a 40, including tag. As far as Big Bang for the Bucks, I agree! My first Class A was a Winnebago a nice, new 1967. My second DP was a new 2007 Tour 40 foot, POS that spent a lot of months in a shop over a 5 year period...as the years go by, a brand name changes and mostly, not for the better! Same with Tiffin, been there and got the T shirt. shapo. you want a 43 foot, OK. In another Post I wrote about twist an torque. Your going to want a really strong, cross braced, chassis, like the K2 or K3 by Spartan to minimize the torque! That puts you in Newmar...my humble 2 cents worth. Carl
  8. bivangep. Welcome to the Forum! I do the same as Bill. The coach under my name is #17 in almost 50 years.
  9. Thanks, but no thanks...I had a CJ7, no frills, just a heather! I also had a Army Surplus in a crate, $55 at auction, almost lost my best friend, putting it together!
  10. I have met folks who has shipped their Class A via Ship and Air, but not train, Well there was one, Copper Canyon, Mexico. You stayed on a flat car, don't remember how many days that tour lasted. Fantasy tours had it for years, then it shut down. They do have several company's that will drive your coach anywhere and back. Bonded and Insured. Cost? It aint cheap!
  11. Beautiful area. Had 3 days in Sydney, so I rented a car and got lost, Jervis is one of many areas that I stopped and asked, "Where am I"? Got some interesting responses! Mostly led to a Pub and lengthy discussion on where I should go next...made some friends in NSW and we still correspond.
  12. Other choice would be Carlsbad to 380 West out of Roswell and take either 70 over Ruidoso to 54 Noth or stay on 380 thru El Capitan all the way to I-25 North in Antonio, Socorro I another 25 miles North on I-25. Quickest way is as obedb suggested. I was on 82 from Artesia to Cloudcroft in my Jeep, last month and it is rough most of the way! I'll be going to Taos via Ruidosa in May and will be taking 285 out of Roswell to I-40
  13. Will not start on boost. When you looked at water level, was that on all batteries? They where all to the full mark? I know they are brand new, that don't matter, when your on shore power, does your house batteries get charged? I'm thinking over charge and your low on fluid or you have a bad or weak cell. Carl
  14. Joe, a younger version of you? That would be too much !
  15. To run todays tech devises, I would go with pure sine, since your appliances will run on either. The Storm was entry level class A, in the 90's. I just don't see why you want one, since you can charge your computer and phone via a adapter to 12V..like a cigarette lighter! Carl
  16. Juan. Welcome to the Forum! I have had all of them at one point and currently use M&G, AFO also works as good...matter of witch works best for you. M&G is manufactured in Athens, TX. about 250 miles from my house, family owned and operated, they come to all the rally's so I have constant support. My girl friend has AFO on her toad, Ford Expedition...Linda also has a DP. Carl
  17. Bill, I'm not an electronic expert by any means, but my gut feeling is to re install the second transfer switch. Carl
  18. I'm not on Chrome and your there! Do you need a Service Dog?

    Tyre Pressures

Keith. A 1999 Fleetwood Storm is going to ride harsh, due to suspension system alone. Getting weight and proper pressure will improve it a little. The important thing is the weight and the balance of the weight, you want equal distribution. When I drove in your country, I felt the same way! Getting used to a steering wheel in the passenger seat, was a real thrill for a couple of weeks!
  20. Tracy. Where there is snow, it's also cold. Did you add anti gel to your fuel...and always have a full tank when parked for a long time! I also add Stabil to my fuel tank for diesel and gas, when it's not being used for more than a month. Bill, is right. Just starting a diesel and letting it idle, does more harm than good...drive the coach. The generator will only run if you have more than 25% fuel in your tank, that's a safety feature, so you will not run out off fuel. For a trickle charger, I would look at a 12V Marine Tender ($125), simple and very effective. Was going to have one installed yesterday, but unlike Monaco, I don't have a 120V plug in engine compartment. Mine will be a little different today! Will post what they did. Carl
  21. When you turn 90, you wont have to worry about changing anything.. Sorry, it was the Devils fault. Millionaires? Don't know, don't care. But you don't have a DP and drive it further than around the block on SS alone. We know what you have, so please, we are not complete idiots!
  22. You need spell check..
  23. FIVE. Don't mention name, city and State. That place would be so full of DP's, you would have to draw a number, 6 months in advance!
  24. FIVE. Have you had any issues, since the lost ground, last year? Carl
