  1. Isaaac1. My take is now and always...if you don't use it, you lose it. That goes for any activity! I'm 74 years old and active as I can be, I take no prescription pills...I drink beer and wine, I also smoke! Put me in a raft and I'll paddle with anyone who will let me. To my knowledge and Herman's , he's 80, this is the only time we get to live life...no second chance and we are both bound and determined to do it to the max! When I and my DW, joined FMCA, I was 30, she was 31...we did not know each other, until I was 35 and she was 43. In the 14 years we had together, we went to every FMCA Convention and most of the rally's of the Chapters we belonged to...Texas Outlaws, Triple T's and Apollo! We where the youngest members and had a blast. I love golf, fishing, hunting and card games...guess what? So does most others..part or all of it. Age transcend all age groups, if you have a open mind and are willing to try.
  2. Herman. The kids could refresh our memories, we all used to be there, but as you grow older you just shake your head and say, we didn't do that! Or, Lord the kids today? Well, we where in a different era, but we still did the same things...just with no computer or cell phones! Keon comes to mind..

Next stop will be the Ruidoso Coach Ranch, on Hwy 220. Stayed there for 3 weeks last year! A little pricy, but you get a lot for the bucks, especially if like me, you play golf ! Total access to "Rainmaker" Resort.
  4. Keon. Good morning. You got it. For me, rolling in a large coach is ok for most of the US, but as I'm getting older, I'm starting to see the benefit of a 40' tag. Also, my lady and I want to go into the maritime region and Alaska again! Last time I did that, was in a 32 foot Class A. Linda did it in a 34 footer. Looking back, the last time that I saw a lot of "B's and C's" at National rally, was in 2014 at Redmond, OR. 22.5 tires don't do a 24 footer much good !

    Lamesa, Texas

I did...It's about half way between Burnet and Ruidoso, NM where we will be for 5 days starting tomorrow. We could not leave Burnet until 11am and I have never stayed in Lamesa before...my bad !
  6. We are currently in La Verna RV Park, Lamesa, Texas. Do not recommend this park at all. $40 for water, Sewage and elect., got the worst part of town next to us and there is no direction on how to enter or where the office is. Found out it was in the store and it's got a drive up window for all the beer buyers! Office is run by a 22 and 16 year old girls that are more interested in the beer buyers than you! After hooking up and going outside to sit down and relax, we noticed a large hole where the Hurricane fence was suppose to be, we asked our neighbor what happened and learned that 2 nights ago, the police was chasing a Meth Dealer, who cut thru the park and took out the fence!
  7. Majority of Snow Birders that I see rolling down I-95 or I-75 or I-35 to Hwy 77S are not in big Class A's! Lot's of B's, some C's and also Class A gassers. Maybe 15% are DP's of 40 foot plus! That's of the Motor Homes...Towable is 4 to one against Coaches! Back to demographics! FMCA has never been a large club...Since it's beginning, 50+ years ago we have only issued 458,000+ F#'s and 2,500+ L#'s! We never re-issue some one else's # unless it's to a family member! What has changed all of a sudden in the last 2 years?
  8. When your hooked up to city water, there is a 2 way valve, that allows you to fill the tank...one way your filling another way your using. Last coach I had, that did not have that feature, was back in 1983!
  9. I don't know anything about score card. I do know that if you want a big SUV, you need a DP! So, as Bill wrote, you got a big choice to make. That only you can answer! I guess the cheapest way to go, is leave the SUV at home and get a light weight for a tow!

    Litter Box Location

Kay, that's priceless! Did it also wash it's paws afterwards?
  11. OK...so I guess we have eliminated all condensation from roof and now are concentrated on fresh water tank and plumbing. is that correct?

Herman. I know that..I said that DP or Gas, that's only been driven an average of 800 miles a year! This is what I would do! In other words, it's been sitting around to much! Geez!
  13. I take it that your guessing about a quart, by a puddle or wet area on ground? Do you have your AC's on? I suspect you may have a loose connection at the pump.
  14. The point had to do with FMCAssist & who drives the coach! The rest was just fluff, that we could have done without.
  15. bm02tj. I can't count the times, that I have been over 75 going downhill in West TX. There are a margin of safety, on all things...most of the time my CC is on 63, but there are Interstates that I set it at 73 and still get passed by DP's doing around 80. Prevost and Newell mostly! We will not talk about mpg!
  16. My girl friend's toad is a 2014 Ford Expedition, AF 1 break system and Blue Ox

    Front End Shimmy

Wow! It don't matter much, with only 800 miles a year, if it's a DP or Gasser, I would grease every fitting on that coach, until I saw grease coming back out! Also, look at wheel bearings, bushings, hoses and belts! Change the coolant and flush radiator, change fluids in rear end, transmission, break and oil.
  18. The only sound you hear up front, is your generator and it's half the db's of a gas engine.
  19. Bill. Re-read OP, he's looking at a 2008 Allegro Bus 40 foot. You know Joe loves that bus!
  20. Let us Honor and not forget, the sacrifices, of our past and current, Service Men and Woman! Thank you, for your Service so we all can enjoy our Freedom and way of life! Carl

  23. Welcome to the Forum! Need more info from you. If you love your current gasser, why do you need a DP to go full time? Do you plan on doing some or most of the maintenance or are you having some one else do it? Glycol Rig heating is called Aqua Hot.
