Linda and I intend to be there! The last Rally at Distant Drums RV Park, AZ, was a Hoot ! Carpenter, thank you for the pictures! Carl
-
Beautiful ! How do you keep the Austin on the road? 0-70 and traffic court in 4 seconds or less!!! Carl

Manny said he was in Texas. Unless he's in Amarillo or Dalhart, I can't see a need to winterize !

"It is what it is, and then it's what you make of it". Fit's! We have our opinions and the towable crowd, have theirs. One thing we all have in common is the lifestyle, interior and their all rolling earthquakes! Cost more for a MH than a pull behind, but enjoyment is the same. On average, we tend to have more exterior storage and a generator. I personally think there is a big misconception among the MH crowd, when it comes to towable's! I'll be blunt..."they are second class people, construction folks, can't afford a MH, etc.", wrong on all counts! Most are folks who already have the trucks to haul the trailer or fifth wheel, easier to store for long periods at a time, lower maintenance and more bang for the bucks! I know a lot of folks that have trailers, I'm also are a member of Escapees, mixed bag. Not all are full timers. Most of my friends can afford anything they want, but they still run a farm, cattle ranch, or company. I'll jump of my "Soap Box" now!

Herman. Linda and I will be at both. If I miss 6 State, I better be dead or in a full body cast... Carl

Thanks for the memories ! Carl -
Wonderful to see a couple of retro's, including the AZTEC, have a buddy with a AZTEC fitted with a Porsche engine.

Got one higher than yours, no need for camera, put over 50K miles with trailer behind a 40 foot coach and about 10K on current.
-
Don. Thank you. If I was in Dungeness Country, I would miss Durant and our 50th also! Good Luck with your crabs... Carl

I was also wondering about the 200A ? Not even sure that they would fit on roof ? Total overkill. So, if I understand the battery thing...You can do it, but not really recommended unless you don't have a choice!? Personally, I would go get an equal battery and save the starter battery. Carl

That could very well be on the last 4 or 5 year models. Mine was a 2011 coach with a 2010 engine, 450 Cummins on a 36 foot Powerglide chassis = 7.5 to 7.8 mpg.. Cummins felt I was lucky to get that ! They also said that the DEF robbed me of about 50HP. I looked that up and sure enough it was in writing, 10-12 % loss in HP !

Couple of years ago, I left my coach at Seattle/ Tacoma KOA for 2 weeks while I was in Alaska. 1 night before and 1 night after...it was OK, safe, quiet and close to Airport ! Would not stay for more than a couple of days! Carl

Joe. It does, but it's very little, like about .005

You can do that? How does that work? Learn something new. Carl

I looked up both yesterday and got both on each others International Corporate Group page. Headquarters, French

Herman, you lost the bet. I get a month out of 3 liters of wine! I still have 2 liters left over from my last 4,000+ mile trip to Chandler... Bill, that would be nice! But I don't have a DEF engine anymore. Carl
-
Another excellent reason why we live in Texas! We do get some cold, sleet and snow, but it's gone in a day or two and followed by balmy 70+! 4cs. Welcome! As Herman suggested, you don't want to mix the 2 types of batteries! I have a over ride switch that I can use, in case my 2 start batteries are low. It then takes all 8 of my house batteries to crank over engine. Carl

Bill, Michelin has high price due to advertisements...they got to cover cost somehow! BF Goodrich and Continental don't have much coverage...Oh, forgot, it's all part of the Michelin group!

When I had my Allegro Bus, it used DEF and had a 13 gallon tank that could only hold 11 1/2 gallons, my best friend, a retired Chemical Engineer, advised me to put no more than 5 gallons in at a time...all that meant was an added 2.5 gallon "Cummins" jug about every 1,200 miles. Never had a problem! Carl
-
Joe, great. Now tell the good folks here, that you are not the guy in the picture...good luck with that.
-
Joe. Your old acids look just like the ones I replaced, last September, egg shape and all ! Herman, you ought to use the new Flex Tape, then Flex spray the coach.. Kay. Payback will come! Wayne. Caught me by surprise. Brett. Your going to miss this! Every time during a full moon.

When I got my new set of 8 in August of 14' I paid a federal tax of $340, no sales tax in OR. $435 was total labor to shop, including balance and a replacing a valve stem. Steer tires are 315 other 6 are 295....I'll let the next owner figure out where to get new DOT 295's. Carl
-
Brett, your right. It took a day and 1/2 to prep the trailer, 2 days for paint in 2 colors and 2 days for clear coating, 2 coats with sanding between each. Carl

Looking at the top invoice I see a different designation on 4 of 6 tires...why? You have 1 XZA 2, 1 XZE 2, 1 XTY 2 and X in city Z. I feel you have been ripped off by one or the other! Your steer tires should be the same designation and you drive tires should also, all be the same ! I'm confused. Bill, the Continental Tire program was in effect before the Rally in the Valley! Carl
