Need suggestion for strategy to safely get out
manholt replied to jon48's topic in Type A motorhomes
I took The Fire Guy's, course 3 times....a long time ago & after the Seminar, for those who cared, we would practice with his help, if needed. Coaches was not anywhere near 13' 3" back then, so for me, no ladder needed. The same with my DW....Also we where both in our 40's! I shudder to think what would happen today and that's why I had the suppression system installed. -

Richard, after you lived and worked in Texas, how did you cope with the weather you have now? I'm acclimated to hot, humid conditions and when I visit Norway or Sweden in summer, most times I'm in a light jacket, my family are swimming in the Fjord. -

In your coach, I fully agree! I have seen enough roll overs in "Cookie Cutter" (non custom) coaches, that unless your pinned in, you can walk out, pretty much anywhere! Fiberglass and gelcoat don't hold up like metal. collision, pretty much the same thing! Biggest concern is to be injured and stuck. -

Bill, the microwave/speed convection is fixed. The mother board for fridge should be there today and installed tomorrow. The oil bearing hubs, 3, should be installed by tomorrow. We will find out this PM about the 30 A system! 🙏 -

jon48, We had PROTENG Fire suppression system, installed in our coach last month! $4,700+/- is a small amount to save your loved once life! Google it. No "panic" exiting needed. We are covered stem to stern, including the inside CB & ATS. Peace of mind. -
Your not alone with that thought. I'm not into 5'ers, but that one could change my mind...

Not much dif between 52,3, & 4. Looks to me, they modified a slide in truck camper....not a Class "C"!

Steve, it would be nice to know what brand of RV you have and length? Do you have a problem with dry camping (no hook ups)? Please excuse us, we all or most of us are used to dealing with just coaches. Now we also have 5'ers and TT's that may not have a generator!

As Ross suggested....Try Aug. or Sep. 1982 magazine, via Publication Dept. I think I was there! I went to all Summer Conventions, between 1978 to 1990. -
So sorry to hear! Sorry for your loss. 🙏

Class C motorhome - tire purchase and installation
manholt replied to C-928382's topic in Type C Motorhomes
Depending on the brand of tire, size over 16", any Love's, TA, Petro, Flying J and Pilot, truck stop, sell and install tires....Most popular choice is, Handcock, Yokahama, TOYO, BFG, Kelly and Continental. -
Dave L. Welcome to the Forum! Forest River is owned by the Berkshire Hathaway Group, Warren Buffet. Since BH took over, its become a quality product, Georgetown is a gas coach that seems to hold up well. The one thing we get on the Forum is complaints, not much in the way of compliments. I have read no comments at all on either the Georgetown or Berkshire Diesel, having bad reviews! Any new RV, regardless of Brand, will have problems but a gas coach seems to have less and they are less expensive to maintain. If I may ask, where are you getting it (Dealer, Location)?

Class A Motor Home Dash Cam Recommendations
manholt replied to rkammerer's topic in General Discussion
In our new to us, coach. It has 10 cameras outside and one over the drivers seat inside. When we are not in coach, we turn the inside on and thru the security system the outside on! 4 loops off 24 hours each, before it covers loop one, then two, etc. -

Thank you Herman! My 1967 WB, would have looked good at some of those Rally's, it was not until 1976 (due to work) that I could attend a Rally in a 1973 Landau! -
Aaron White, Welcome aboard, you have some big shoes to fill.

Ray, did you lose weight? I had Salmonella once and dropped 7 pounds! Imodium, dry toast and gallons of water!!! -
I have read this whole post again. IMHO, there are 100% valid comments. That under "normal circumstances", would have been acted upon by upper management. "Normal" operation of any endeavor, left 12 months ago! Thanks in part to Covid 19, FUD (Fear, Uncertainty & Doubt), cut in Staff (anybody's guess as to why) and work from home! There is no certainty that FMCA will ever be the same as it was in 2019! As for Dons2346, Herman, Ross and Joe, their as frustrated as I am! Please don't shot the messengers!
