1978 King's Highway 29 On Dodge 400 Chassis
manholt replied to donfrana's topic in Type A motorhomes
Donald. Welcome to the Forum! WOW ! A '78 KH, have not seen one in years and it's always nice to hear that someone still run and appreciate the older coaches! My suggestion for you, call Cummins Tech. Dept., Cummins owns Onan...I would start with Cummins Custom Care Div. Headquarter in Atlanta, GA. The CCD does all things Motor Home, gas or diesel. Whatever you do, stay away from Camping World ! Carl -
You both know, this post is over 4 years old? Carl

Very grateful I did not have to explore the pros/cons of C-rat. (VN '62-'63)

Wayne. Shock wave of gases that travel at over 25,000 ft/sec. primarily Nitrogen and Carbon Oxide. The gases cut into and expand any little seam. Heat or a bullet will not cause C4 to explode, it takes extreme heat and explosive to do it (blasting cap). When you set it off it will degenerate into gas. In small amounts it will burn and the gas will make you get a euphoric high, Hello VN ! Carl

Tom...I couldn't help it.. Carl

You where alive in the 1903 area?

Berg. Welcome to Forum! I would call Winngard parts Dept. to see if they have the board...I read your post, but that don't mean that parts has depleted their stock. Same with Tiffin Parts. You may find it in a Direct/DISH shop in a small town, they do double duty, RV's and homes! Also, find a computer repair shop, they may be able to fix your panel. Luck Carl

Would like to see that...

WBill, I did earlier, impressive and scary, if your in a CRV or Jeep! I would think, they would move in a big crane and track dozer or two...I don't think they would blow it up! Way, to risky...don't need another slide, I was looking at the rocks behind the dozer. Mostly sand stone. Very unstable!

Byron. If you don't, we may never travel together... I suspect that, sooner rather than later, we will have a luxury tax on RV"s! Every Socialistic Country has one, with the exception of Sweden and a modified one in Norway! Something to think about... -
Rut? Did you not see what the road now looks like? Another rut, is the least of their problems!

We figured you did ! No, apology needed... I think Byron, after he got his Degree, realized that to get on the open road, beat a desk job anytime! Carl -
Herman. I only had forks out for King Cake, during a Mardi Grass Parade. Actually everyone knew the rules, get it in coach, take it outside to eat...we had 3 RV's on Seawall. Found out later that a friend of a friend, refused to follow the rules and took a 4 year old inside to eat...That became the last time any off us took our RV ! Now we have a 42' open goose neck trailer. As they say, "it only takes one ah to ruin a good thing"! Fork was not the problem....4 year old and cake everywhere, including bedroom!

I had that sound in my Allegro bus, turned out to be the remnants of a plastic fork! Carl

Kay. I would take your coach, any time, over a Custom Conversion by a Manufacturer! I don't like "Bling"! It has no useful purpose and a total ***** to keep clean!
-
WOW.. That's a new meaning, to the sign "Falling Rocks"! They're going to study how to remove the rocks? Hello, you got the dozer there, push it off the road ! Or will that kill off the "protected", boulder flea? Geez! Carl

Agree! A friend from Phoenix has been at Mesa Verde RV Park for the past month, across from entrance to the park. Took the Railroad 4 years ago, an all day'er and well worth it...so is the one out of Chama. I have always felt that if your in the Mountains, it's because you want to enjoy the weather and view's...I figure that if an 18 wheeler can make the run, so can I... There are a few exceptions to my rule, but their on the East Coast. -
The exception to that, is a Marathon, Millennium, Liberty, Coach Works or Texas Outlaw...16 years old & your still talking $150K to $200K, 06' models are in the $500K+ range! On a cookie cutter coach, over 10 years old, yea...cash and carry! 94' is market value...just like the old GMC's, who cares how many times it's been upgraded? Only the seller! A 94' Prevost...I might consider $25K, but it would have to be in great shape! Bill Adams has a 88' and he's at Prevost, Dallas waiting on parts, bet their and the labor is not cheap! Carl

Jim, Small world...Herman will be in Shawnee, OK for FMCA 6 State Rally in September.... Byron, as I said earlier, your vacationing in the wrong part off the country! But, I got to leave the cool mountain, Monday morning, so I also will be sweating! Carl -
Michelin and BF...happened in 2014, fleet price about 35% less than Michelin! Carl
-
Director of Tech Support....amazing! Not a division of Camping World? Just for giggles, I would call Sales. Your response was not insulting...I'm not PC and would have verbally torn him apart! Ridicules!

Bill E. What trucking years? I'm a retired Drilling Consultant, also, known as "Oil Field Trash"! Not that I have anything against truckers or anyone who works/worked for a living! We all had to do something to make ends meet. -
Dot=driver side!
