Herman...yes, then cross your fingers and toes!
  2. I have apologized and so has Herman. I was more, out of bounds than he was! Carl
  3. Rodger. I have been up and down that coast road from San Diego to Astoria, Oregon, more times than I care to think off, in all class A's gas and DP's from 22' to 45'. It's not a race course, it's a lovely drive and most times I use a month doing it...not in Feb for your area. I like the late Spring and early Fall. First time was 1969 and last from Astoria was 2014. Carl

    Shocks

FIVE. I got the same. Changed them to Koni and am very happy as it does not sway as much anymore!

    House Batteries

When I went from wet to AGM last month, the Magnums automatically reprogrammed themselves....Got to thinking about that, so I called tech at AC...My coach came with all AGM's in 2010. First owner, changed all to wet, for whatever reason, and did not re program! 2, 12V for chassis and 8, 6V for house, with 2 Magnum 2800 Inverter/Charger. No more blinking lights and pads, no clunks in the night.... Carl
  6. Herman. Then everything else, needs doing... R. LeBlanc. The one's who talk "a lot of miles", generally are referring to gas engines...DP's your looking at several hundred thousand miles, before it becomes a issue! The other components of a coach, will wear out, long before the diesel will...reverse that for a gas engine!
  7. Ditto! Have sent PM's to OP's before, never gotten a reply! Lesson learned...don't give up.
  8. My front door, has a picture of a Shriner carrying a child on it...we can't stop advertising!
  9. David. Compared to Herman & Bill, I'm the Village Idiot...Tax? Is near, but not dear to my heart. Do have a few Q. I'll be there this pm! Carl
  10. Had to have my front windshield replaced, about 8 weeks ago...$2,800+. In 2011 a split front windshield was $1,200 each. There are several good insurances that have disappearing deductible, for each year without a claim! As Herman just wrote, as I'm writhing!
  11. Good. Glade she got someone. But then you had more info than we did...
  12. Brett, it did. Thank you! Will you be in Shawnee? Carl
  13. Big difference between a car and a coach! If AAA has folks that deal with both all the time...no problem. Is AAA available 24/7/365 to handle a Motor home? Cost per year? What's NOT covered? I use Coach Net. Why? They are better equipped to handle large DP's, I'm 45 foot, heavy! I also found that Good Sam was good for when I had gas coaches! Check them all out, then make your decision, based upon what they offer and don't forget about who can safely tow your rig, if need arises...I have had one towed twice in 48 years! You may never need that, but even one time, you need to know that the folks you deal with, knows what kind of tow truck to send. Also, don't forget about Insurance for coach and everything on exterior of coach...make sure you get glass coverage! Luck.
  14. Herman. Good Morning! Think we will hear from OP again? It's been 7 days... Carl
  15. Wayne. 10' is the first time I had that problem...on a Winnebago (Duh!) Tour 40' DP, I had disconnected the alarm in dash and could not find anyone, including Winnebago for help. I was in Cummins South Plains, Houston for annual service and brought up my problem with the tech, just in conversation, hoping he knew someone...that's when I found out that Cummins was a authorized Service and Replacement dealer for HWH ! Cummins has done my system ever since and no problems! Have you been to one for yours? Carl
  16. Thank you Bill, that I will do later this morning, when second cup of coffee kicks in! Wonder if Cummins has a quick serve for Onan? Do you know? Carl
  17. Full fresh water tank and empty grey and black tanks! I paid for 50A at Perry...when I got parked I found that each site also came with water and sewage...you never know. If your going to volunteer, now is a good time to call FMCA and do that. You will receive all the information off what, where, when, holding area prior to entry and driving directions prior to your arrival, in the mail, unless you have opted for will call. If your a volunteer, you'll be notified when to arrive, It will be several days earlier, due to orientation class on what you'll be doing, getting to know the lay out, etc. Carl
  18. Yes, and it's our responsibility to contact Seven Corners, not FMCA ! FMCA pay's for our membership with Seven Corners...now you want a 24/7/365 operator to stand by? I understand that the lady is distraught, I would be also under those circumstances! However, there are certain steps that we need to take and only we can do it. Especially if your a full timer...Ducks in a row ! Carl
  19. Jim S. That's the same color and top on mine! I just have a different front end, steel bumper and 9.5 winch. Joe, you need to buy some paint and touch up your house! Blake, nice looking coach! Sorry, but I have to agree with Jim S. I don't even have electric windows! There is a 4x4 shop in San Leone that does some awesome work on Jeeps, he's got clients from all over, including Europe...he'll fix your problem real quick! Pat did/doing mine & it's a lot cheaper than AEV.
  20. Hope it keeps working better than your Jacks...He, He! Sorry David, could not help it !
  21. Cummins service HWH...had the same problem on another coach. Turned out to be the mother board...3 years ago it was $647 for rebuilt and $816 new, I opted for new. Never heard that alarm (it will drive you nuts/including the dog) again! Now, I have other problems, but it's a Powergear and I'll live with it until Shawnee on Sunday! Carl
  22. Good grief....My buddy James, just looked at this, he's still walking around laughing! Joe. He also, read your post on the re design and was impressed...that's a big compliment from him!
  23. Joe. Real nice! Waste of good $$$ if you can't use it...any SUV would have done the toad job! JimS. Not that I'm aware off. I almost joined, until I read their minimum requirements...I wasn't planning on going on a Safari, just day runs! Now, I just call the local 4 wheel clubs in the area I'm in...and join in the fun! Up in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado, I've been on just about all the trails they got over the last 5 years, getting close to that in Ruidoso. I have found that local clubs, is great for meeting and getting ideas from new folks in various parts of the Country! I also utilize the Elks, Masonic and Lions in the area! My body and age is going to dictate, how much longer I can keep this up! Carl
  24. Hayes. The older the coach, the more $$$ you will pay to get in fixed for worry free travel...sounds to me like your figuring to get a perfect coach for no money! If 60K is way to much, what do you figure you can pay? Hard to help you, if we don't have a base line to work with, also the longer the coach in gas/DP, the more it's going to cost. A DP will give you more bang for the bucks in the long run, but unless you either have a healthy income or can do most off the maintenance your self...it will get real ugly, real fast. Not cheap! The Damon you looked at is a good coach, but it will run $1.5-2K to get everything fixed on it...small price to pay! There is no new or used Motor Home, fifth wheel or trailer, that I know about, that's in perfect shape! Carl
