Just be aware of your width and length, know how high it is above your head and it will take longer to stop than your car...other than that, it's no big deal. Most Cruise America are rented by people like you, zero experience! I would take one out to a large parking lot & practice backing up and stopping! Knowing how to set up for camping and your power system when your hooked up to park electric is golden! Think of the "Others as, they all want one, but can't.."! As soon as you both are comfortable with it, about 3 days, watch out for your in-laws, they'll all want to go with you! 😂🤬 Both of us drive and set up our 47 foot 4 inch long and 13 foot 4 inch high coach! I'm 77, wife is 72 & we did not ever spend six weeks in any driving school. We do Cruise Control at 63 to 65 mph and enjoy the scenery! More than 2 lane road, we pick the center lane or follow the truckers! Good Luck and enjoy RV'g!

Can't keep doors closed on refrigerator

Clean the seals or replace the seals! Velcro the handles shut. -
For about 18 years, I ran my coach tires at sidewall PSI, weight of coach for travel? Who knew? Weight and Temp was not part of the equation, since we all ran non steel belted, Radial tires! TPM did not exist, so at every fuel stop/rest area, we would "Thump" the inner drive tires! I still do that once a day! I ran Kelly's back then!

CORNERSTONE extended warranty JUNK
manholt replied to justgreatfood's topic in Extended Service Policies
Sounds to me, the OP had the work done, then contacted Cornerstone...any extended warranty company, will want to be contacted before, any work is done by a known shop! I had 5 claims with Cornerstone in 6 years, biggest one was a $110,000, blown 1,000 hp engine...each time the shop called for warranty an agent would come and verify, then the work began! -
Bill, you have a fancy coach, just older. CK out the price of a new MA...

Who, What, When, Where or Just Lets Talk
manholt replied to hermanmullins's topic in General Discussion
Bill, we'll be there the 2nd. We have had more than enough rice for a while! FIVE and Wayne, I'm glad your check was not cashed! We won every battle and lost the war! 🤬 Still are..sad. Since Linda is skipping a generation, tax reasons and other, somebody will be mad. I'm doing the same! 😂 -
Texas Rangers (121) come from the DPS...cream of the crop!
-
RayIN, you got a point, but a rougher ride!

I agree with Richard and it can be a catch 22 question. If I have in the 30's temps and we're going to our other house in South Texas, I don't adjust my PSI, it's 20-30 degrees warmer where we go and it's a 5 hour trip. If we go the 250 miles north to Dallas, then I will add air! The caveat is how big & how much does your coach weigh for travel to begin with? Mine is over 64,000#...way more than Ross or Ray! Tires are also bigger, 365 front and the other 6 are 315's! Full fuel is 200 gallons...that's variable weight, but fresh water at 140 gallons is not.

I have to agree with Bill, in regards to the truck and garage! In regards to truck under cover, do you have enough property for a taller car port off the garage? We live on a ranch in Texas, so it's hard for me to understand...even my house (Sold) on an Island in Texas, the garage held 4 vehicles and 2 Harley's, with 13' 6" celling!
-
WOW! That's weird, do you still have a sliding step cover? Off subject...what do you use for oil bearings?
-
In Texas, TABC (Texas Alcohol Tabaco) and Texas Rangers have that permission. Used to be that Texas Game Warden had to get a State Trooper to make an arrest or do a search/seizure, not anymore, now they are part of the Dept. of Public Safety (State Police)!

Who, What, When, Where or Just Lets Talk
manholt replied to hermanmullins's topic in General Discussion
Your so right. For the past 2 years, that zipped by, we have talked about remodeling this 1982 house. Linda's son & wife are needy and they are trilled about all new stuff, that he will inherit, we however have decided to be unconventional. Everything that's in here will come out.New flooring, wood no tile. The living room will be the playroom ( shuffleboard, pool table, dart game and virtual golf). The biggest of the spare bedrooms, will be a gym and by getting rid off a non bearing wall, we'll put in a Sauna! Linda's office will also be expanded to accommodate my office. Master bedroom/bath will be redone also! We're half finished with kitchen & dinning room. 3,700 sq. feet under roof. It will be easy to keep clean & something to enjoy while we can. Whoever gets this place after us, can do their own thing! 😁 -
Our King Aire came that way. I'm not trilled with it, both of us keep forgetting it's there and what's in it...I call it, "The time capsule!" 😂

Chapters, was a way to meet like minded Coach owners! They all specialized in a topic, golfing, fishing, geo catching, Nascar, etc. I remember, not long ago, we had over 400 chapters and they came to the National Rally & Winter INTO Rally! I do agree that today, there is less interest in joining a Chapter. Probably has to do with more full timers and they tend to associate and travel with their own group of friends....most are members of Escapees, FMCA and GS. These days it's more for Discounts, that each club offers! I might add that more and more Coach owners are joining AIM (All inclusive Motorhome). They are all about fun and good times, seminars on engines, chassis, transmissions and suspension systems, great food and entertainment.

This year, I would think so...I have tried to shop locally as much as possible! Glad you got it done.

wtbuck12, your about 18 miles from us...if your going to the New Iberia, Fete fair? We are in space 23 until next Sunday! Sorry Herman, off subject.

Ross, agree but if you go back some pages on this Post, you will note that we have tried that approach and our illustrious CEO have answered instead, with several paragraphs off PC and Blah, blah, with no substance at all...stroke the children, cause we know not. 🤬 WBill tried and was met with a lot of condescending attitude & no answer!
