I had one of those & only problem was preventing seal from leaking as it got older.

Agree! Don't know if Tiffin ever had a basement AC. Several brands have both heat pump or heat strip on their roof top AC units...Never heard it being called a furnace before!

Travel to the FMCA Convention: Tucson 2020

We'll do the same! -
If it's a Attwood, it runs and heats on gas..only elect involved is to start burning gas. If it's a Aqua Hot, it will run on elect or diesel.

jb, did it come with a manual/install instruction? Is there a pdf file you can download?

How far is it from your house to Atlanta?

Factor. On your original post, you said you would be back on at 1400, that's 2:00 PM to most folk! In 6 of the 7 languages I speak + the Military, they use the 24 hour clock, rather than AM/PM! My first thought was that you where in the Military. Happy New Year

A few thoughts. Why would you care, what the current owner want's? If your happy with it, why didn't you buy it? By the time you get your storage ducks in a row, he might sell it to another party! MCI's are quite happy to be outside on Elect...even in snow! Happy New Year!

Just made an appointment for some scratches & body work on mine for Jan. 6.

Ditto that X3. That's why they stay busy!

I think Roland can make out pretty good on this. But $$$ in hand first. Roland, where are you now? I'll check around down here & see what I can find...We are at other house in Three Rivers!

Roland. When I had a bay door replaced by Texas Custom Coach 3 years ago, they took the door to a shop in San Antonio that does Plasma cutting, 3 days and a exact replica was installed & painted. You might want to call them & ask for the name of the shop. It saved me 5 weeks & $1,800...my cost was $415 plus paint. I lived in Rig during the 13 days there, 50 amp & water, dumped twice! Both WBill & Herman knows what my rig looked like, before & after! Darn glad I don't live in a 'No Fault" State!

However, ice adds another dimension...you got to break it up first, on top of topper & under, we use a long handle, soft bristle broom, with a towel wrapped over the head and held in place by a elect tie. We do one slide at a time, once it's broken up, use the 700 psi setting to wash it away & bring in slide! Being in Texas, I waited until noon and let the sun do the drying...next morning it froze again, but we only had one bedroom slide out. Wayne, your right...rain, like snow moves around.

Factor. Look for dealers in Tenn. Plenty of them there. Dealers also sell consignment. Texas is a big State, with moderate weather in winter, 100's of thousand "Snow Birds" travel thru in all 4 directions, from Oct to April every year...We have a lot of places like PPL, a % of those who come here, fly home in a pine box..what to do with the RV? Just one example. You got the same in FL, AL, AZ, CA. Tenn is late Spring to Early Fall...Lots of RV's! Chassis. Pre 06, there was a lot more chassis to chose from, today you have Spartan & Freightliner, the rest returned to commercial or bought out or belly up! Country Coach like Foretravel made their own. Holiday Rambler, Monaco had the Roadmaster, Beaver used Gillig or Oshkosh. Even Foretravel used Oshkosh for a while. Barth used John Deere chassis! Tag axle. Load distribution and ride. Hands down, nothing rides as good as a coach with tag & they came both on gas front & gas pusher's in the 1970/80's, also DP's in early 1970 and again in mid 80's. We forgot to mention the Blue Bird, google "The Bird Connection"! One of the most solid coaches built, Wanderlodge!

Herman, you got to do a correction on the right side of your signature! Same with left side..Under President years!
-
I think, if I remember right (was with him this summer for a week) he's not far from Blue Ball. We stayed at KOA Lancaster/Holland.
-
Wayne. Ditto that. What's wrong with real American History? Immigrants know more about world History, Geography, America, than we do! We're in Three Rivers until the 2nd or 3rd, got a free full hu 50amp, where are you at?
-
Factor. I had to go back to your original Post. You asked for 35' to 40' DP information and have gotten mainly 45+ foot info. In regards to Bus Conversion, Prevost made the XL 40 until 2005. All others from 2006 are 45+ foot. You'll have to ask Kay about the MCI. Newell used to make 38, 40, 42 & 45+, now it's 42 & 47 foot. What I wrote about the pre 2006, most where up to 42' with some in 45' & most have 0 to 4 slideouts. You understand computers & electronics that serve the computer that runs everything on a new coach...some of the 2020 are partial autonomous, I like hands on!
-
New Prevost conversion is a couple of million. Good used one, say 2002 is around $250k with 2 slides, generally both on driver side..google Legacy Coach or Bus-Stuff. High End Coach = Newell, Newmark King Air, Tiffin Zephyr, American Coach Eagle or Heritage, Foretravel....All over $750k new!
-
Linda got nailed in Viking Village RV Park, Newfoundland...that's some COLD water. Sounded like a pig that's been butt shoot. Not a happy lady! 🤬
-
Factor, I was wondering where the 1400 came from & then, "Fair winds and following Seas!" I was Army, Nam 62/63 then out & into the Oil Patch! Retired 2/11/85!
-
Pre to 2006. Brain Fart...I had a 2011, bought new, Allegro Bus..total Lemon & Bob Tiffen said he want'd it back..go see the dealer...$57,000 including Tax, I got this! We're looking for another coach...small problem, my Fiance has her own DP to sell, a 2006 Tiffin Phaeton 40. If it was up to me, I would keep hers and sell mine, but she wan'ts a 42 to 45' coach! I'll be 77 in Feb & she's 71...If you look at any of the newer coaches & get past the useless Bling, you'll find that the interior/floor-plans are all the same! The difference to justify cost, is size of engine/transmission! All furniture is modular & you can buy them for 75/80% less, than manufacturer will charge you...so, get a used coach for $70k to $120,k with most of what your wife want's and replace the rest. "Leather" is Faux and we use Windex to clean...try that with Cow Hide! Ugh.
-
Welcome Brent/Factor! I saw your DP post first. I'm Carl Christensen/Manholt, take your pick! Happy New Year.

International "Bench Life" is 7 for our/truck tires, 10 for car...but that's in a known parameter! Then you have to figure in all the variables of the actual driver, road condition, load, PSI, winter surface dressing, care when parked, etc. Sidewall will go out, way before tread. My last set of Michelin lasted 4 years 10 months & 68,000+ miles! The set before, went 5+ years and came with coach. For the avg. RV'er, I think 6 is a good bench mark.

Hi Factor. Few things come to mind. $$$? How handy are you in regards to mechanical, electrical (AC & DC), plumbing, fabrication and analytical? Any coach, with a diesel engine, made prior to 2006 would be my choice. Mandatory EPA mandate, started in 2007 with Particulate filter for lower emission, in 2010 they added DEF, who knows whats next. My coach is a 2009 engine on a 2010 American Coach, with 107,673 miles. I have had no problems with my engine or transmission & I consider myself lucky. Replacement cost of the P filter is not cheap, with labor about $5,000+! DP...Fleetwood, HR, Monaco, Country Coach, Beaver, Foretravel, Alpine, Safari, Tiffin Phaeton...All good coaches, pre 2006. Most of the very good manufacturers went BK in one form or another, due to Sub Prime lending 2007-2010. I've had class "A's" since 1967...12 of 17 coaches were gas, last 4 diesel. Carl C.
