, yeah, I thought about that also. But take me out of the equation and think about the construction, both slides are on that side, the front slide while only 18" deep is the galley and couch . Everything I removed weight wise in this coach (other than Propane tank) was on the passenger side of the coach, so when you think about it...although I made it lighter in general I off balanced it more. There is some relief as when the slides are closed the weight is much closer to center, but still not centered. Now when you do the actual math I removed about 500 lbs in total, now the recliners helped lower that number as they are on the passenger side where there was nothing but a free standing chair. In the end portable scales are really the only way to get the hardcore data. While loaded we stock up our water supply on the passenger side under the dinette front booth, back booth houses my tools, so there is some balance counterweight.

I feel singled out . I agree on the weights, I still have to get the 4 corners weighed. Once I pull it out of hibernation and its restocked I'm going to run it down to the local police department to have them weigh it with their portable scales. I have some more tile work to do, now in the bathroom area, so the weight will sway to the other side now . After reading a few other posts on this issue I can guarantee its heavy to the left side just by the floor plan alone.

Possible Change To The Vehicle Inspection Law In Texas
jleamont replied to manholt's topic in Laws and Legislative Action
WOW, much less BS than PA. Got a few days of shear boredom, read that attachment PA_State_Inspection_manual.PDF I am a certified inspector and I think its a waste of time. -
Herman, next year The Hayes's family and us are headed to Las Vegas in the coaches. The Vegas portion will only be a couple of days, coming out I-40 to do so, passing through your wonderful state. Perhaps we can all plan to meet up, spend a day while in route or on the return trip. Were taking them out to the Grand Canyon, I'm guessing via the Grand canyon railway although my DW wants to explore the North rim, and not the South. We still have to sort out the details for that trip, maybe do both?.... Don't forget we are headed that way in June to catch up with Carl and Linda also. If you are available in the middle of June, send me a PM, ill pass our schedule along.

Phil, Sea Pirate in LBI was one that keeps jumping out to us. I met the owner at the NJ RV show last weekend, he seemed like my type, NO BS and runs a tight ship. We are always searching for more places to explore in NJ, but most Campgrounds are old trailer parks that are tight, run down and charging $80.00 + per night. If you can recommend some let me know. We tend to head toward beaches, I also have two daughters (18 and 16) that both love sand and sun (DW and I avoid sand, that's were the large awning and patio mat comes in handy ). Kids and DW also like boardwalk arcades and that type of amusement's, so any place close to a boardwalk would be helpful as well. I see NJ has little beach front campgrounds, with that being said we head south to MD and DE, which is frustrating as NJ is much closer.

What is involved with this? Emission's test or a safety check?
-
Phil, we need to chat about Campgrounds in NJ, we are across the river from you in South eastern PA.

kstockwe, Welcome! Thank you for chiming in I'm sure Mark will be happy . Do class B's have showers, I didn't notice while at the RV show on Sunday?

Jim, when I bought it I checked the toe, minor adjustment needed. It rolls straight actually got better with the new tires this past March. The previous owner of our coach was a franchisee for a few local TA truck stops. I have quite a bit of maintenance records in the box. He was more of a fanatic than I am when it comes to chassis maintenance, which was a selling positive even thought it wasn't the floor plan we wanted. I had to set a base line for to keep my sanity and rechecked all his work dumped all fluids...

Ditto, I have the same one. The one I destroyed on a branch was the older version with round spoon type of blades. According to Girard the top portion is replaceable, well that was their selling point to me when mine went tumbling down I-40 in TN

Herman, stumbled upon this; https://www.amazon.com/Girard-Wind-Sensor-Anemometer-9800151-01/dp/B00U1SNPZI Is this the type you have now? Or do you have the older version with what appears to be plastic utensil spoons on the spinner?

Carefree Awning Retracts In A Nice Breeze
jleamont replied to tmkkmk8's topic in Systems and Appliances
So..there is no wind speed sensor adjustment? I do not have this make or model on ours but I have a knob in the control box to adjust what wind speed I want it to come it at. -
Every spring for me....I always stand there wondering if I can organize it better

Wayne, I did weigh the coach last summer with it fully loaded and toad is also on the weight ticket, while we were under by a good bit it was an eye opener just to digest how heavy the coach was. Told DW then she has too many shoes, makeup and jewelry, that lead to her poking back the entire way home how I have more "junk" on board than her, sad part she's correct, tools and other stuff of mine is worse off than her stuff, but it was fun to get my shots in, made us both laugh headed up the road. From the weight ticket below I have another 1340 on the steer and 1960 on the drive until overloaded would be an issue. "Trailer" below is the toad, our coach does not have a tag axle. I still need to do 4 corners, I just run my tire pressures higher.

Mark, a few things to note that occurred to me the more I thought about this at the RV show. We enjoy setting up our site (chairs, table, patio mat, Grill and smoker etc.) and day tripping around for the day. To hook and unhook the coach re-level, repack the interior so its roadworthy (and we have auto leveling) every time I/We needed something or wanted to leave for the day wound be a monumental task, add poor weather conditions to the table and I would become miserable. That could consume several hours a day of set up and tear down. In addition where would I put all of the stuff I just mentioned above? All of that to save me MPG's is not desirable in our situation, plus you mentioned in another post how hotels came into the equation when cabin fever sets in, my wife is claustrophobic, that in of itself cuts us off from this market. For me to hook and unhook our Jeep takes me less than 3 minutes, it has to be one of the most simplistic tasks that I do on a trip. The sewer hose takes longer to pull from storage and connect than the Jeep in my situation. Full setup, W/E/S/CATV will take me 15-20 minutes plus the comfort and cooking items mentioned above. Another area of concern is safety, I do not want to worry about my belongings and pets parked at the mall, where ever we are shopping or off adventuring is another reason I wouldn't want our coach with us while day tripping. Then we have had several occasions where locating a parking spot for our Jeep was a problem (ST Augustine FL comes to mind), width and length of the B I looked at would limit that as well. We literally have ALL of the comforts of home in our coach, from kitchen appliances, bedding, pets the ability to watch different TV shows at night etc....etc....Every season I stock the pantry to a scaled down version of the house and the coach is fully equipped with duplicate appliances, all we pack on a trip is clothing to suite the trip and destination. As many have mentioned before, the reason the RV market makes so many different floor plans, different size units etc...etc... is to accommodate different camping lifestyles, ours and yours are two examples of how this varies.

...funny how that works...Blame it on your DW, I told mine it was all the shoes, that didn't go over well

Mark, hopefully the bad weather out there missed you and it's not too cold. Was very cold out on the east coast as it always is this time of year, today broke 50 degrees, which is pretty unusual for SEPA, too bad I just got home from a business trip to Windsor CT. It was 38 cloudy and rainy. Just in case anyone was wondering when you ask them if Windsor was named after alcohol, they get a bit upset, must be an old joke went over like bad a flatulent in church. The only guy that also found the humor was a guy from Charlotte NC. I like those southerners, now he had a sense of humor and a personality to match. Oh...sorry forgot the point of responding I have only been a member for 8-9 years or so, not many B units on here, I'm sure they are out there, perhaps a bit shy? You might want to attend a rally, you could get some face time with those people and make some more friends. DW and I walked into/peaked in a few B's at an RV show Sunday. Happy trails!

Ok, you guys talked me into it, here are the before and after shots. I cut the old trim and hung it temporarily until I figure out how I want to permanently close it off up top. I must admit the LED picture quality is unbelievable compared to that old TV. The main reason, I can now use my roof antenna, which might I add needs some TLC, she's all but seized.
