  1. I test ran the K&N filter for 1 and 1/2 years, 8000 miles, then had the oil analyzed by Blackstone labs in Indiana and the results showed the filter was doing a good job. The production K&N filter was available this past May and I installed it. I just sent in another oil sample and I am waiting for the results.
  2. The Inverter that you have was designed some 20 years ago not hardly what is currently the best today. I agree with you that some folks can and do use older equipment and it works just fine for them. This discussion started out as to what would be needed to make what he had work the best. I offered up what we have found is the optimal set up. TV's that failed with MSW inverters first cropped up when the flat screen plasma came on the scene. The LED/LCD TV's are relatively new so we don't have that much history with them. Other things that failed were micro processors in coffee makers and microwave ovens.
  3. We have been in the RV business for 36 years and have encountered quite a few different situations along these lines. I'm just passing along what I've learned along the way. I was using inverters back in th 70's when most of the rvers didn't know what one did. They didn't have battery chargers so we had to make high amp chargers to shorten the charge time while running on the generator.
  4. The 3M kit is very good. When you run out of polish you can use Alcoa alluminum polish. I have been using the wheel polish for some 12 years.
  5. Just go to any large car stereo store/shop and tell them what you want. They have radios that will do everything but cook breakfast!
  6. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!
  7. Keep in mind that as far as the modified sine wave inverter is concerned the effects could show up as shortened life of the electronics etc.
  8. Cummins Road Relay 4 or 5 will display gear as well as about 9 other items.
  9. The inverter you have is a modified sine wave. It could present problems with not only the refrigerator but some of the new electronics such as tvs. Size wise thats ok but I would have six batteries for more capacity. What would be Ideal is a 2500-3000 watt true sine wave inverter with six matched golf cart batteries.
  10. Good point. I guess that's why they give a guaranty with a new part!
  11. It may have a leak when its hot. Test it at normal running temps.
  12. If you list what ATS and Inverter you have by model I can tell you what you need to make the installation. We do this type of thing on a routine basis in our shop.
  13. I used the masonite that looks like tile, from Lowes, and used adhesive from the caulking gun to stick it to the pre-finished wall behind the stove and sink.
  14. Thanks Tim and the same to you and your family. Have a safe trip. We are in Hawaii, without the motorhome!, for thanksgiving with two of our kids and four grandkids. Seasons greetings to all.
  15. If you have good enough credit I would not think its a problem to get financing. I have know individuals that could get a loan with just their signature.
  16. I believe the you leave the trans in park, the ring gear is not turning. The spider gears may prematurely wear because as the left axle makes 1 revolution the right axle coming out of the differential is turning the opposite direction.
  17. My tire pressure sensors also give the temperature of the tire. I use the Tire Minder system.
  18. My concern would be if the solenoid is drawing current to be switched on, there is always a current draw against the batteries when the house batteries are on.
  19. Residency is established when your drivers license is issued and your registered to vote. At least that is the way it is in Oregon. They used to not care if you listed Oregon as home and payed no sales tax and $10 vehicle registration, but other states put the pressure on so they no longer allow it.
  20. Is it an Intellec switching system? If it is, there is only control current when switching on or off. If its getting hot it is possible that there is some resistance in the contactor generating heat.
  21. It depends on the jacks and how there installed. Done correctly there is little chance for malfunction.
  22. The rear wheels are so close to the rear of the car that I don't think anything would drag no matter how high the front was.
