  1. See what size opening is required for the new one. Hopefully its the same or just slightly larger. Inside work such as plumbing and wire hookups are not that hard to do.
  2. I beta tested for K&N a diesel filter for almost 2 years, had my oil analyzed and everything was ok. Been using a production unit since they were released in May 2012. There are those that don't think K&N filters are any good but they seem to be working good for me and the tests prove it.
  3. We have used bleach and water to kill the mold. I learned that from professionals that had to kill the mold in my commercial building.
  4. You are a newbie!! FMCA was already some 14 years old when I joined in 1978.
  5. More than half of my coach is modified by me in my shop. Starting from the ground some of the changes are ISB Cummins and MD3060 Allison, 22.5 Alcoa wheels, larger rear axle, air ride, independent front suspension, air brakes, increased fuel capacity to 129 gallons, separate propane tank for generator, hid headlights, led running lights and tail/stop lights, 6 golf cart batteries, 2 group 31 engine batteries, remodel interior, change bed from a rv queen to a full memory foam queen, 3 LED LCD tvs, surround sound in living room and bedroom, blue ray player and HD satellite system, all new 120 volt system, 50 amp and special wiring to be able to run both airs on a 30amp and 20 amp pedistal.
  6. My plate is also buried. I have traveled 38 years in 10 motorhomes and more that 300,000 miles and never been stopped.
  7. I have been happy with Directv for about 20 years. When they came out with HD I had to have it. The latest in tvs is LED LCD which some are just over an inch thick. They also draw much less current which is important if you are running off an inverter. I have a Samsung 40 inch which is 1.2 inches thick. I made a cabinet above the dashboard and hinged the tv from the ceiling and there is storage behind it. I'm lazy so I have a Moto Sat HD on the roof.
  8. It is possible to make a crankup dish into a 3 LNB but it is not economical and requires a machine shop and engineering skills. I have done it. The dish needs to be replaced to an oval and the mount for the dish needs to rotate for the tilt or skew. I used a motor to adjust the skew. I did it as a challenge, but thats just me. I have changed over to a Moto Sat HD some 4 years ago.
  9. Larry, I'm sorry I steered the conversation off course. I just had never heard the goose egg refered to as a plaque! Herman has the right idea.
  10. The "real" goose eggs are made of cast aluminum not plastic!
  11. Maybe not you. Your number must be too high. Mine is 31xxx.
  12. I believe Tri Mark makes a keyless kit to retrofit older coaches.
  13. How current is that price list and are there any dealers in Las Vegas?
  14. We normally refer to the number plates as goose eggs!!

    EEZ Tire TPMS

Its a good price if they work ok. Not familiar with that brand. I use Tire Minder for about the same money.
  16. When there is no power at the shore cord the relays in the ats connect the generator to the coach. When power is present in the shore cord the electronics switch the relays to complete the circuit from coach to shore power and disconnect the generator. Batteries have no function in this operation.
  17. Check the accuracy of the speedometer and odometer. That is done in the engine computer. Make sure the right info is entered such as tire revs per mile. Some coaches I've traveled with claim higher mileage than I was getting yet when we fueled up we both took the same gallons. The distance traveled on the odometer was greater on the other coach even though we went the same miles.

    EEZ Tire TPMS

How much is the ten tire setup?
  19. I prefer to use the small canisters and refill them from my main tank. Originally my generator ran off the main tank but I installed a larger tank just for the generator so I had an empty valve with liquid withdrawl. The trick to filling the tanks full is cool them in the refrigerator or freezer first, especially if the propane tank is not full. Very little waste.
  20. There advertised in the FMCA magazine in the past.
  21. I was parked at a Wal Mart in Kansas when a severe wind storm suddenly came up and blew 4 shopping carts into the side of my newly painted motorhome. Caved in the generator door and some other side damage. I got a response from Wal Mart's insurance and they said their not responsible. Has anyone had experience with Wal Mart?
  22. You might check the harness plugs. Make sure they are clean and if the prongs are split take a knife and widen it a little. Use dielectric grease on the connections, such a DC4 compound. You might try plugging the left camera into the right harness to see if it is the harness or the monitor switching.
  23. My home garage is 32x64, 2 story tall, with cement floor and I have 4 jack stands for the motorhome. When I'm on the road I carry a couple of pieces carpet to lay on. I roll them up and put them in the back of my pickup truck that I tow.
