1979 Apollo 3000 DB Remodel - Any Apollo owners here?

It was done with the block (cylinder head deck). it only raised to compression but it also raised the torque significantly. -

The 440P engine used different rods to handle the compression increase. Be careful when adding stuff to increase performance. -
Yes. I have a set on my 04 Holiday rambler 38'. I had my coach weighed and run 98 pounds in the front and 90 pounds in the rear. Have had them for 2 years and have had no problems. Hercules does not build a rv tire in that size. Mine are OTR and no abnormal tire wear. They are very quite and the wander i had with the Hancooks is gone.

We are planning for that rally now. Looks me up if you can make it. Would be nice to put a face with a name.

The Western Area Rally held in January has been cancelled. The Feds are still using the Indio Fairgrounds and will not be releasing it until December 31st at the earliest. We were really disappointed but had no choice. Rick Ammerman F442485 WAFMCA Vice President Central

If the a/c vents work normally under normal driving conditions, the leak could be anywhere. I would start looking for the vac reservoir and testing the vac signal in and out. I have had many reservoir tanks crack (plastic). just a thought

I would like to know what FMCA is doing to recruit new members?

wildebill308, I was going to say that -
I had a customer once about 20 years ago that installed a CB radio in his class C and really did an awesome job. The only problem he made was he secured (zip-tied) the antenna coax to the ECU harness. Every time someone keyed up, the engine would shut down. I moved the coax about 6" away from the harness and everything worked just fine. Be careful.

I had one at the shop that was doing the same thing. It turned out to be a defective ignition switch. The switch connector became loose and melted the power wire. sometimes it would work after it sat for awhile, but as soon as the current flow heated the connector back up it would loose connection again. It's easy to see the back of the switch with a flashlight and mirror. Just a thought

I received a new pump unit late last night. Installed it today after work and everything is functioning correctly now. Now I get to disassemble the old unit a see if I can figure out what happened. I’ll let y’all know after while. Thanks for your help!

Are your batteries sealed or do they have caps? If the have caps you can check if one or both have a dead cell. You can also take the batteries to O'Riellys and they will test them for free. One dead cell will drain a fully charged battery over night.

Back in the day, Chrysler had an issue with the ignition module and the pick up coil (stator) in the dist. When i had a vehicle in the shop with an intermittent engine shut off, we replaced both components and the problem was fixed. Both components are susceptible to heat from the engine compartment (module) and engine block temp for the stator (pick up coil). The module is easy to change, but the ststor is a little more difficult. You can PM me and i can walk you thru it.

I was told by Direct TV that our signal was based off our zip code. When we travel too far away from our zip (300 miles, i think), we loose our local stations except ABC CBS NBC. The only thing they would do was change the zip code to where we were. We would have to do this every 300 miles. I just gave up.

Could towing my Fusion have damage my front end?
f442485 replied to jchaney12's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
It's a very common problem to have to have CV axles replace with that many miles. If the axles are bad, witch i think they are, the tow bar that is higher or lower will not cause an axle to go bad. It will cause excessive wear on tires and tie rod ends. The loading or unloading of the suspension will cause tire wear issues because the ride height will not correct while turning. Just a thought. -

Knowing the mileage would be a great help. From past experience, at the shop it sounds like a defective axle shaft. Does it make a clicking noise while turning in both directions or just left or right turns. If it is left turn only, then that axle shaft has gone bad or right turn only the right axle has gone bad. Very unusual that both axle shafts will go bad at the same time. It really depends on how many miles are on vehicle. Just a thought -
I've decided to purchase a new pump assemble and after i get it installed i will disassemble the old one and see what happened to it. I will let you all now what i find.

Maybe if i could get the motor loaded correctly, numbers may be higher, but with a defective hyd pump, there is no way to determine if the motor is good or bad. I have been in the automotive field for around 60 years and this is an approved method of checking for voltage on any circuit. Although there may be other ways of checking circuits, this is the way i was taught by Chry. Corp., Ford and GM. sorry for the confusion.
-
When checking voltage drops, you check what the voltage is before starting the electric circuit and then see what the voltage is when running the circuit. Started with 12.8v and ended with 12.6v. A voltage drop of .3v on the positive side and a .5v drop on the negative side are normal drops tested in this manner. Any higher numbers constitute a defective circuit (too much resistance).
-
The voltage drop across the pump motor is at .2volts. I think its so low because the pump is defective, so the motor is not working hard enough. Looks like i'm back to buying a new pump.
