  1. I'm wondering if hanging chads, or Russian interference will be the cause given?
  2. Sounds interesting. However I came across this article that was interesting as well. https://www.forbes.com/sites/shelbycarpenter/2016/09/27/revew-30-days-google-project-fi/#12c1b8961625
  3. Bill, After reading the FAQ you attached I completely agree...it is a done deal Bob
  4. I read recently that Millenials are the fastest growing segment to join the ranks of RV'ers... but they are opting for towables. They don't want to be saddled with the higher cost of a self contained unit, as they will only be taking 1-2 trips per year for only 1-2 weeks at a time. So I understand why FMCA management wants to open up to towables. That said, if membership is opened up there is little doubt that the magazine will very soon be running feature stories featuring towables instead of Class A,B's, and C's. I will miss the magazine's existing format as it will shift over to short weekend getaways vs an "east coast adventure from Maine to Florida" or "60 day Alaska adventure" type stories, and the advertising will include the best tongue jack , and aftermarket fuel tanks to put in your tow unit to increase your range. After all, they will need to cater to this new group. In the meantime I will continue to wonder what is keeping me in the group anyway, as I realize that aside from the great Michelin tire program that I took advantage of, it is Good Sam that provides an excellent trip planning software, fuel discounts through their Pilot/Flying-J program, and in traveling I have found more campgrounds that don't offer an FMCA discount but do offer Good Sam discount than the other way around. The only time I have encountered a Park that did not offer a Good Sam discount was one that was exclusive to Class A only...
  5. I tried to join in 2013 not knowing that you had to already own an RV. I wanted to join in order to post on forums and learn more about various brands before making the big decision. I called when I got stopped at the year, make, and model section, and was informed that ownership was a pre-requisite. Fine. I waited until we purchased and then joined. I understand they can't run through DMV records for everyone but I would at least hope they don't allow membership without filling in that section. Then at least the member knows he/she is lying and not just omitting the details. JMO
  6. So, I'm curious, I just looked at the application form and it clearly asks for the year, make, and model of your coach. Did these people falsely make up that information in order to get past that requirement? Or is FMCA now allowing that part of the application to be left blank and still award membership? Bob
  7. I moved over to Coachnet last year after reading similar stories about Good Sam
  8. Wow...I've been using it for a couple years and never had anything like that happen. Were the tires clean before applying?

    "Hot" Toad Tire

My exhaust does not affect the temp on the toad, however, the tire temp on the toad is often 20 degrees higher on the sunny side, while at most 10 degrees higher on the sunny side of the coach. I assume this is due to the larger volume of air in the coach tires dissipates the heat better.
  10. This is the one I understand is preferred https://www.amazon.com/303-30306-Protectant-Plastic-Fiberglass/dp/B000XBCURW
  11. Thanks, I have the Aquajet ARV that is supposed to put out 5.3 gpm but still find you can't turn on any faucet with the shower running or the shower turns to a mere dribble. Think the second pump would balance out the flow?
  12. Bill, By using 2 pumps do you get more volume as well as pressure? Bob
  13. Go to the FMCA Home page. CLick on the MIchelin Advantage Program icon. then click on: Michelin Advantage — instructions on how to purchase tires Then open the box for the type of tire you want (truck) then find your size. You will see all the possibilities along with the part numbers, or as already mentioned you can call Michelin.
  14. Just experienced the same thing. On another forum was told that the AH valves will stick occasionally (from lack of use) and to tap lightly on the side of each valve. This should loosen them up. We needed to get going so just used dash heat and got home last night. Intend to try it today.

    Consumer Alert

Did you pay by credit card? Sometimes credit card co's have insurance that will reimburse you. Good luck.
  17. When they pulled the turbo did they at least look it over to see why it failed? If the head gasket failed causing oil and water to mix which then went through the turbo I could see where the turbo would be damaged, but I would think there would be evidence readily visible, and I would assume they would explore further.
  18. Something wrong/ That website http://www.rvta.org/ comes up as being for sale.
  19. There are no RV parks in Scottsdale. However, there are numerous parks in Mesa, Apache Junction, and Phoenix, all of which are near Scottsdale. http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/arizona You can pick from high end resorts to state parks. Good Luck and enjoy your stay. The weather is finally cooling a bit. Bob
  20. Pretty sure it can't be done in stock form. http://www.remcodsc.com/driveShaft.php Remco makes axle disconnects for many vehicles to allow for flat towing. Bob
  21. got any ideas what to use that space for?
  22. We are also looking for a printer for ours. Best Buy has several small HP's as well as Costco has a couple small ones... also HP"s I think.
  23. I have an extended warranty through Wholesale Warranty. I spoke to my rep only a few times, but rather asked all my questions by email. I then printed out all the answers and have them with my policy. This way, I should never get into a "he said, she said" situation, as I will have everything in writing. I have had 2 claims so far and both were handled very well. As others have said it really is not a warranty but rather an insurance policy. So, you can check the rating of the carrier by going to the AMBest ratings agency. In your case here if it is American Bankers of Florida: http://www3.ambest.com/ratings/entities/CompanyProfile.aspx?ambnum=120&URatingId=2286273&AltNum=0 You can see they have been around since the 50's so probably aren't going anywhere, and their assets are over $1 Billion which is not huge but coupled with their longevity would certainly make me comfortable. As to getting work done in their approved facilities, I was told they will work with any facility that goes by a certain type of book rate which off the top I cannot remember. But before purchasing, I called all the RV Service centers in the area and could not find even one that did not use that "book rate", and every one of them said they would accept that book rate for payment. Good luck with your decision. Bob
