Our MH is stored jacks down. This removes some weight from tires, allows the air bags to deflate-which they will eventually do anyway, and of course levels the coach JIC we want to run the refrigerator when preparing for a trip. Since our MH is in the RV garage when unused, slide is extended. I do not start the drive engine unless I can drive for at least 20 minutes to insure the motor oil is at operating temperature long enough to evaporate what moisture may condense in the crankcase. The genset is ran for 2 hrs/month at 1/2 load to drive moisture out of the windings per Onan owners manual.

Towing a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a Ford V10 engine
rayin replied to ronbonosr's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
I know a guy who towed his Chevy dually behind his old Class C. It worked fine_until it didn't. I asked him how he spelled expensive, he didn't speak to me for a few months. I must have a mean streak, rubbing it it like that. -
General information; SeaFoam is also safe for diesel engines, it's right on the can in green lettering.

I think that is what Mr. Bell was talking about in the letter addressing the huge increase in cost.

Who, What, When, Where or Just Lets Talk

Thanks for the invite Bill! Sure wish I could. Even if DW was able to make the trip, I now have COPD + 2 heart surgeries. Oh, I added 20# too. Someone would have to carry me off the floor. I gave up teaching when Lin and I married in '95. I've been to the stockyards, a man could get in trouble quite easily, no hesitation in finding a dance partner. Spotting the brand was hard. Guess it was where my buddy took me, he lived in Van. Our MH saw about 600 miles last year. Hopefully at least 2,000 this year, IF Mayo Clinic calls back for DW. -
Great idea Bill, use a 5G can with 1 can SeaFoam! Rural King is selling SeaFoam for $6.99/can right now, usually $8.99. For a 100G gas tank = $35 + tax. I remember back in the late 50's my uncle had a Gumout adapter for the carb, it had a rubber plug for the gas line then a fitting to screw into the carb. You ran straight Gumot through the carb. Talk about smoke 👃 One winter He didn't raise the bay doors, we had to feel for the door without tripping.

Possibility, Float in carburetor sticking due to old stale fuel turning to varnish, finally enough newer fuel was introduced to soften the varnish. It cannot harm anything to add/mix in, the correct amount of SeaFoam to your gas tank. Then run the genset for at least 2 hours at 1/2 load every month. (Cummins/Onan recommendation)

Who, What, When, Where or Just Lets Talk

I was reminiscing last night about days gone by. Many years ago I used to teach country dance. Perhaps my favorite song to dance swing and a fast two-step dance with was; Lone Star Beer and Bob Wills Music, by Red Steagall, hope you enjoy it as much as I. BTW, whatever happened to country music? Oh wait, that's another song. -

Carl, congratulations on your upcoming marriage! -
Nothing will stop a determined thief if they feel they have the time to do what they want and escape undetected. If you installed a wire barrier under the skylight, it might deter a nervous thief afraid they would be detected while taking the time to cut the wires, on the other hand, they might decide it is quicker to smash a window and enter the MH. There is nothing in our RV that money cannot replace, we carry adequate insurance to help replace anything stolen or destroyed. Other than that we don't worry about theft of interior stuff. As for stealing the MH, it is always stored with leveling jacks down, and the 40A fuse removed. It will take a knowledgeable person to figure out why the jacks will not work, even if they figure out how to retract the jacks.

If Canadian Tire Store didn't have it I didn't need it. -
I agree Wayne, if it was bought with money, it can be replaced with money, IMO no property is worth a human life. I avoid a life-threatening confrontation/situation if at all possible. Too many memories already. No-one will ever know if I'm armed or not, until that last resort event. I've only had to display a firearm once under civilian circumstances. Luckily the man realized he put himself in danger of losing his life and fled. We cannot/ should not disregard military training. For civilians that book is, IMO, the ultimate advice, and a refresher for former military about use of a firearm in civilian life.

👍 It reads like some have forgotten this is a 19.5" tire, limited choices. Firestone is almost $80 cheaper than Toyo.https://www.amazon.com/Firestone-FS561-Commercial-Truck-Tire/dp/B078HTPKCD/ref=sr_1_17?qid=1583512612&refinements=p_n_feature_five_browse-bin%3A6131685011&s=automotive&sr=1-17

It has the Chevrolet emblem on the front, can't remember more. Oh, the MH not the bike.

Oui, monsieur! Lettres. -
About 5 years ago I had a similar issue. The engine would start normally, when I put the tranny in gear the engine died and would not re-start(dead ignition switch) for about 20 minutes. I called Good Sam ERS who sent a mobile mechanic To I24 rest area near Ft. Campbell KY. We both looked for the cause for almost an hour. The mechanic finally found a loose connection on a terminal block on the firewall that supplied 12VDC to the driver controls. He showed me the retaining nut was almost off, yet the loose wires made enough contact when cold the engine would start. When I put the tranny in gear the current draw was enough to break the connection. He tightened that retaining nut and I've never had that issue again.

I bought a 6" metal valve stem extension, that is only used to add air to a tire; otherwise it is stored in with my air compressor tools.

Wonder it he has a huge tube of chap--stick at home? This is not the first time I've put the picture on the internet, can't remember where though. Not home-made, it has the chrome Chevrolet name on the front. The raised roof allows standing upright except for the cockpit area. I seem to recall someone said what range of years they were made. That area does look home-made though, the rear storage area is also made of wood. I've got to take a day trip over there and get better pictures if it is still in that parking lot.

That is an accurate and original, untouched photograph. I took it Sep. 19, 2005 according to the metadata. I have no idea where in the West it was taken. This says on the front it is a Chevrolet, the year is up for debate. The tires looked original:

Wayne, IMO a firearm is the absolute last resort. Before one is picked up the decision to use for personal defense it must have already been confirmed. It is truly a life-changing event. I highly recommend anyone considering carrying a firearm, FIRST buy and read the book "In the Gravest Extreme" by Massad F. Ayoob.

A local auto tire shop sold me new truck tires, mounted, balanced, installed them one afternoon. Almost any tire shop can remove/install a truck tire, virtually every truck tire shop does it by hand anyway. Start calling around.

Disapointed in my FMCA Roadside Assistance
rayin replied to poohbear7278's topic in Roadside Assistance
You must know; any business is created to make money. I have never heard of anyone starting a business with the intention to lose money. If someone fails to read contract fine print, agrees with them, and comply with the terms, it's their loss. It's called personal responsibility. -
This one is 12' 8" per https://www.roamingtimes.com/2015/12/02/rexhall-industries-aerbus-premier-class-a-motorhome/ I suspect overall height may depend upon what chassis is selected.
